  1. Not in my barrels! Steel on steel?? Huh-uh.
  2. Opus One - Tommy Dorsey
  3. Most of the people I've talked to thought it was a second-rate magazine and org. I got an invite in the mail yesterday too -- someone must have sold their mailing list. Maybe someone in Nashville.
  4. I've never felt the need to modify my 10-22, other than add a red-dot sight. Is something wrong with me?
  5. The load data I have available requires BPI wads for all loads using BPI hulls and Lil Gun powder - BPI stretch wad for 7/16 oz and 5/8 oz loads, BPI MG410 wad for 1/2 oz and BPI stump wads for 11/16 and 3/4 oz loads. If you have to order wads from BPI, you might as well order a copy of their "The Small Bore Manual" to get their load data. www.ballisticproducts.com
  6. I haven't received my invitation.
  7. I built my 1911 starting with an Essex frame and a book on gunsmithing. I did everything except stake the plunger tube.
  8. You didn't happen to get a copy of BPI's loading data for the hulls, did you? If not, contact BPI and you might get a complimentary copy of their .410 loading data. If not, let me know what powder and wads you have and I'll see what I can dig up. I bought some of their 3 in. hulls last month but haven't gotten around to loading any yet -- too darn cold out in the shed, donchaknow.
  9. Do you just HAVE to live there?
  10. I heard that there was a lot of drankin' on those cruises.
  11. I've got you topped - I'm a bishop, ULC.

    shotgun gauge

    Try Google.
  13. It looks like a glove box gun and I wouldn't sink another dime into it. It's been rode hard and put away wet, and you have too much money in it now. Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.
  14. Welcome to the fraternity, guys!

    gotta be said

I used to play games in BASIC on a teletype terminal (no screen) connected to a mainframe through a 300 baud acoustic coupler. If you wanted to save the game and resume it at a later time, you could punch a paper tape if the program allowed. This was in an engineering office at Ford in the early 70's. There wasn't anything better available at the time. I believe I discovered Arpanet, the grandfather of the WWW, on that terminal. I renewed my Benefactor status just the other day. PS - I said 'discovered', not 'created'. My name's not Al Gore.
  16. We're probably (collectively) too juvenile for most of the ladies. Welcome!
  17. Ace Hardware, but call first. I believe the Ace at the Co-op on Lee Hwy just south of Loudon carries it.
  18. I have a Hume for a SIG 239 that I don't care for. The gun rides too high for me.
  19. I do know that the bigger, less maneuverable boat had the right of way, and that would have been the whaler in this instance.
  20. I've been DVR'ing HGWT and the old Gunsmoke episodes. Guess I'll hafta stop when the drive gets full. I haven't seen HGWT since I was a kid.
  21. I normally don't wear a heavy or long coat in winter, just an insulated jacket, so I tend to pocket-carry a j-frame all year. Don't worry about people staring at you - most people look at their own feet. Nobody notices anything -- that's why they're sheep.
  22. I just had a brainstorm (thanks to a little fertilization from the last few posts). I have some brand-new FAL mags that won't feed reliably, which I think is due to burrs on the lips. I was using a round file to de-burr the mags, but a Dremel should be a lot faster and easier.
  23. Beautiful rifle! I wouldn't have passed it up.
