  1. How big is that safe? I've seen some safes at the local Lowes but none that looked like 500 lbs. I have a bigger Liberty safe and I'm pleased with it. I'll admit that it's the only safe I've ever owned so I can't compare brands. ----------------- Never mind - I followed the link. No, I haven't seen that model at the local store.
  2. No, I served in the Virginia Line under Washington and he had better quality soldiers than you think. We even brought our own rifles when we mustered in. From what I've seen of the Tennessee Guard I wouldn't trust any of them with a baton, let alone a firearm.
  3. The American "press" has been overlooking (hiding) reports of Japanese recalls for years. This one was just too big to hide. It's a shame that none of the people who know how best to run an auto company ever took their talents to Detroit and put them to work.
  4. Sears (& Roebuck)
  5. All questions answered so this one is closed.
  6. No problem with your post, it was the offer to buy that was in the wrong place. I'm sure if you decide to sell the lower here you'll post it in the Classifieds.
  7. I missed it via the lottery too! I almost won the 1st draft lottery in the summer of '70 - my number was 2. I joined the Reserves in Jan '71 just before I graduated. My Reserve unit didn't go. I had friends who didn't miss it and didn't come back.
  8. Old men and idjit wannabee kids in baggy camo BDUs. Pathetic.
  9. I survived the era unscathed. There weren't many hippies in WV in the 60's.
  10. Which ones are new, what are their dates and handle materials/colors?
  11. Me and mine. The rest of you are on your own.
  12. That's what milling machines are for. If you can mount AO Big Dot sights on an NAA Guardian (and you can), you should be able to mount them on an LCP.
  13. Keep on practicing, and when you can hit the plate 12/12, try the same thing in the dark.
  14. This web site will give you the information necessary to date your Case knives. The date of manufacture along with the model #, handle material and condition will determine the value of your knives. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/wr_case/index.php
  15. New or used?
  16. There are a LOT of Case knives sold on Ebay. Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville is the biggest local dealer in knives. Ebay is a good resource for finding out the real value of a knife. Books and dealers can give an opinion on the value, but a buyer with cash in hand will give you the real value. Let me know what you have - I may be interested in some of them.
  17. I disagree with that!
  18. Spewing coffee!
  19. What will you do in a dark parking lot?
  20. Just a suggestion - try a google search for insurance appraisers in the Nashville area.
  21. Night sights (tritium) will help in the dark, but not not in daylight against dark backgrounds. IMO, lasers beat night sights hands down. A laser won't necessarily help in daylight against dark backgrounds. Fiber optics only work in daylight - you won't see them in a dark room. I have laser grips on my snubbie, and the front sight is painted to help me find it when the laser can't be seen. Night sights and lasers are cost-effective since they may save your life.
  22. Did you hear about the new Obama Special at McDonald's? Pick anything you like from the menu and the guy behind you has to pay for it.
  23. Spoilsport
  24. It would be an improvement -- at least corporations know where wealth comes from.
  25. You're still at zero due to still being a Yankee.
