  1. Never mind - y'all don't need another dog in this fight.
  2. It's not 'immigration'. It's an invasion.
  3. I'll bet that was one of them there 'graven images', don't you?
  4. Welcome - glad you escaped!
  5. Welcome! I used to live in MIchigan.
  6. Congratulations! I needed to wait about 8 months between my Tech and Advanced licenses so that I could build my code speed. It's neat being able to advance so quickly! Youdaman!!
  7. You're up to 72 now!
  8. Well, someone may have gotten a bit cranky around here.
  9. I own a Drill Doctor and have used it successfully on HSS, cobalt and carbide bits up to 7/16".
  10. NOBODY ('ceptin' a cop) pats me down. I don't know where those hands have been, and I don't know the pervert doing it. Lay a hand on me without my permission and it constitutes assault and battery.

    Back online!

That looks like my Hughes dish here in McMinn County, where we get the Saturday Night Opry on Tuesdays. I missed the cake, but did have a rabbit sandwich - a bunny between two waffles.
  12. A word to the wise - don't buy radio equipment on Ebay. You'll get skunked. Try ham swaps and other hams. Join the local amateur radio club. There are several sites on line dedicated to ham radio and several have "want to buy/for sale" ads - QRZ.COM Callsign Database, American Radio Relay League | Ham Radio Association and Resources, eHam.net Home - Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) Community Site for example.
  13. There ya have it -- it was on TV so it must be true.
  14. The question pool for the various license classes change on a regular basis, thus the new Tech test and a new set of practice exams. Sideband is an operating mode, like CW, FM and AM, and you can use it as a Tech. You'll be restricted to VHF and UHF (and a small chunk of 10 meters) as a Tech. Higher license classes can use the HF bands from 1.8 Mhz to 29.2 Mhz.
  15. I'm so sick of this crap -- everything is a crisis these days. The solar cycle is 11 years +/-. We have an increase in solar activity every 11 years, followed by a decrease. You don't need a satellite and supercomputer to predict it. I'm looking forward to a sunspot increase, as are other amateur radio operators all over the world.
  16. A "goldenrod" type device will prevent any humidity or rust problems in an unheated garage. You don't have to heat the garage if you heat the interior of the safe.
  17. Good luck on the test - you should do fine.
  18. The red is the "loctiteyist", next is blue and then purple. You're supposed to put a small amount on the threads only. One little patch will spread during assembly and glue the assembly together, more or less permanently. Loctite isn't as big a pain as Superglue, which is mainly used to glue fingers together.
  19. Any time the unfairness on this site gets to you, the door is right behind you. Use it.
  20. Conceal, go in the door that ain't legally marked, leave upon request. Repeat.
  21. It would be the considerate thing to do.
  22. A 1st gun for kids (a step up from a Red Ryder) A safer way than .22 LR to shoot garden/yard pests in the city. Mine was made in about 1915 - it was a different world then. .22 smoothbore, single shot, falling block, takedown
  23. 12, 20, .410, .22 I also have a .22 caliber shotgun - a Stevens Favorite that's about 95 years old.
  24. They're also Idiots From Ontario.
