They played that out great, didn't they? I cannot wait for the next season - the show moves along nicely and has a great set of sub-plots going (like when Bobby was helping the porn business and dipping into the till - a couple of ways).

+1 switched to McAfee - one Windows 7 desktop and an older laptop running XP. No problems but had some with other including AVG

Yeah, not much a sense of humour in the Arabic world generally.

LOL. No, it makes sense as I think along the same lines - which might be why I enjoy your posts. I especially like the analgous comparison of LBJ to that no account Uncle so many families have - but we always want to spend time with "Uncle X", cause he is entertaining as all get out - at least to a kid. Thanks for the reply! And I am with you in hoping we the people take back the political discourse. Although I think Beck is a great self-promoter, he is effective at getting people fired up and may be on to something. Cheers, Barry

The schedule of boat and van tours is not up for the 2010/2011 season on the LBL website (lbl.org) yet, but if you are interested in taking one of the cruises or van tours, they are taking reservations. Boat trips are 60 bucks per person, includes either lunch or brunch depending on the time. We're going on the cruise in January and then plan to do some hiking while at LBL. Phone number is 1-800-LBL-7077 or 1- 270-924-2000

some of the excuses by the Democrats for November 2
7dogguy replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
And therein lies one of the fundamental issues in my humble opinion: the gov't can't fix the economy but they could likely make it worse by meddling. My hope is we get the gov't back to gov't things such as roads, defense, food and drug safety, etc, and not trying to think they can generate jobs. Although they have been really good at generating jobs at the federal level and I believe there have been some increases at state, city and county levels in many places. And we had all better "brace for shock", because somewhere, some way, we will be touched by the coming austerity measures. I would think for me personally it will be more years with no COLA for military retired pay (2011 will be the second in a row) and most likely in TriCare fees (but TriCare has not gone up in at least 10 years!). My three cents (had to raise it due inflationary pressures in the opinion markets in Fredonia). -
Loons hunting loons? :-)

I agree people are ignorant (and some kids get indoctrinated against firearms, sadly). But I don't think a Dispatcher should decide the action, only send an Peace Officer to the scene to assess and manage. I do count on our Peace Officers knowing the law, though, and have faith they do.

Yeah, you could have a point there. They would become like bank robbers on a clock, filling the sacks then hitting the door running. So our option is to keep voting the ones out who betray common sense. I don't expect any politician to be 100% aligned with me, anymore than I think any of us could be 100% aligned on things. But we should all be able to find a middle ground, each give a bit, and work to a common good for all citizens. Anway, getting off topic. J Assange is an azzhat and chicken to boot, as he is hiding out. If his work is so noble, why is he hiding like a chicken thief (and alledged rapist, etc)?

Beck is good at promoting Beck and making a butt-load of money - like many "pundits" and as you note, radicals from both sides are making a lot of noise - like a horse farting. Funny, these guys reinvent themselves to be "experts". Oh well, PT Barnum was right in many ways.

Does your brother work on the trains themselves or what is his role? I think the RR would be a great career and it is for sure crucial - the freight haulers - to our country.

Thanks, yep, gotta be protected. But I am in all honesty protecting myself more from my fellow man than God's creatures - the animals are doing what they do (generally speaking) from instinct; people can just be plain old rotten.

The moral of this story: hike or hunt ONLY with people you can outrun.

But at least the professional wrestling shows have some pretty girls to parade around as pay back for watching a sham.

Good food for thought, so a question I have is do you think all of these events will lead us to get back to the government that I think was the original intent, that is, not politics as a profession, but service? Things like term limits, etc, put in place, to avoid the path of temptation all of these guys and gals in DC fall into? But I still think the way this is happening is as much of an issue as what it might or might not reveal. And although I am not a conspiracy theory type of guy, a part of me cannot but wonder if someone in DC is involved or wanted this to happen? Use these leaks as some kind of red herring, whilst being up to other mischief? Keep us regular folks from looking at the huge debt, bad economy, etc....who knows (maybe only the Shadow). Cheers!

Tim - you are right about our DOJ being a do-nothing gang of people. I cannot figure out what it would take for them to do anything, unless it is someone who opposes the current agenda and then maybe they'd spring into action. But steal secrets, threaten voters, be a terrorist who could be tried by military court - nahhh, let it go.

I'd agree with your position and proposal. Reasonable and the only way I could reckon we can stop this type of thing. And as so many are saying, the government (our EMPLOYEES) need to take a strain on document security and clean house of those who fell asleep at the wheel. One thing that stands out to me: the kid who is in jail now bragged about copying info onto a CD he took in to work. When I worked for a Defense Contractor in San Diego, no computer that was connected to our network was allowed to have any writeable drives - USB, internal, etc - to avoid anyone copying anything and taking it out the door. There were allowable exceptions, with a form of two person integrity in place. My

Very nice!! If the iPad acts up, you can tweak it with the Benchmade - just kiddin'. Thanks for sharing.

I think that will be one I will try and look up for a day or maybe an overnight trip to West TN; I haven't spent much time there since the 80s and would like to go back and look around. As I get older I have more of a desire to explore close to home and these trails and hiking/biking are a good way to do so. Still like to venture out, but really cool to find out about places. Gee, where was all this curiousity when I had to sit thru junior high school history?
-
I agree - no private land should be taken. My point of the post was if the trails are available and not taken by the govt', space for outdoors that is close to folks is a good thing. Too many video game playing people who need to get out and see the real world (and quit making their kids fatter by keeping them inside).

I also believe Rotary Park is private, not owned by the city or county. Maybe I am wrong...

+1. I don't want to be around someone drinking and handling a firearm - recipe for disaster.

I would suggest going to the local public library and talking to the reference librarian - they are there to help with such quests as yours and can point you in the right direction for recent information, plus possible other sources you could use to develop context. When doing my thesis, I learned a lot about about my topic and more importantly, how much a good librarian can help out. Good luck and have fun.

South Texas has some big ones, from domestics breeding over the years with the native Javelina (sp?). As a young Sailor, it was nice to get invited by some of the local folks to a BBQ after they'd had a hunt - fresh pig, gulf shrimp, cold beer, and pretty Texas girls - life was indeed good.

I still have my P89 and like to shoot it, too. It also gets carried every now and then in the winter when easier to conceal - just a little heavy for long/all day carry in my opinion, though. Good pistol however - built like a tank.
