  1. Yep, the stuff that hit ya'll a bit ago is now coming over us here in SE Montgomery County. Agree - stay safe, be smart and if so inclined, maybe a prayer for all to include those who have already taken a whipping from this spring weather throughout the country. Cheers and hoping for dry weather (course, come August, I'll be griping about it being so dry!!!)
  2. I'd agree with another poster - why mess up a Glock with this? The Glock seems safe to me as designed - or I would not carry it. My .
  3. Congratulations! On your holster post - like shoes, what fits you best (not being snarky) - I also have the good old G19 and what a great gun. TMy two cents is try a few and you may ultimately findyourself with some for sale or trade, but best way I know to find that "one" that fits and works for you. Me, I like Blackhawk stuff, but don't carry IWB - which requires some change at times to what I carry, etc, as I am not an intentional open carry fella. Again, congrats!
  4. I am proud to note my listing, along with several neighbors! Good to know info - confirmation of my fellow citzens solid and continued embrace of our American freedoms! You go Commercial Appeal - keep up that GREAT reporting (you bunch of liberal loons...).
  5. I think you will like it if you are moving here of your own choice - that is not forced by job (like military). As another poster wrote, just get used to the pace and things will be great. My native California wife - never lived anywhere else until we moved here a few years ago (coming home for me) LOVES it. We were driving Sunday, down some "backroads" and she commented again how much she is enjoying it. And I fully agree - especially spring and fall. Considering I never thought I would be back here, after leaving as a hard-headed 19 Yr old to join the Navy, my coming back after being gone for over 30 years was an experience/reconnection to my roots, I am glad I am here, and enjoy it very much. This area (I am in Montgomery County - about an hour NW of Nashville proper) was where I grew up. This is America I think, like many southern and midwestern states - very unlike the artificial atmosphere of the coastal areas. Another great thing about TN is our proximity to many places - you will be a days drive from some prety good vacation spots - along with a LOT of great places to visit within the state. Again, welcome and enjoy the wonders of our great Volunteer State when you get here!
  6. Welcome and congrats on your new purchase.
  7. Well, if you don't like the views of a post in a poliical light you can surely either rebutt it or ignore it. Not everything on here is about political views, you know? And as Americans maybe we need to look more at those things in common rather than highlight differences of politics (my three cents). So enjoy the other posts - guns, knives, tactics, etc - and ignore anything that does not fit your politics. Seems simple in practice (much like what shows you watch, etc). Again, just enjoy or read posts of issues or items of interest or engage in debate if you so choose. Beauty of a well run site like this one - the Mods will keep it real and keep it within terms of service for all. ENJOY!!! Cheers.
  8. Good grief...the only worse thing I could share is once at a local range, ran into a guy smelled that smelled like a brewery - and it wasn't aftershave or mouthwash. Went to the folks who ran it and he was escorted out. Of course, I wondered who checked him in and let him start at all... Fools - it they only hurt or killed themselves, let them at it. Problem is innocents are generally the recepients of foolishness.
  9. He has made and lost several fortunes and is a super marketing guy, it would seem. But from what I see and read, he is likely too controversial for a run, but we can't tell anymore. Maybe we need a candidate from no political background or prior aspirations. I do like some of what he says - what a lot of folks likely think, e.g. being held hostage by foreign governments and not having the guts to tell them to back off, pride in America, and the like.
  10. Heck, your wife could make a living as a negotiator for hire! Good luck and have fun with the Glock.
  11. Sounds too good to be true, but yeah, great price! Super duper handgun but I am a prejudiced G19 owner...
  12. Thanks for the notes, guys - when I get time, I will post on what I find is the culprit. Until then, it's the old tried and true string trimmer! Have a great weekend!
  13. Troy Bilt TBE515 Edger, with 29cc 4 cycle engine. Service a few weeks ago - oil, air filter, new plug, fresh gas (stored without gas for winter), blade sharpened. Used about a week ago - ran like a champ. Now - won't even act as though it is sparking. Checked: plug gap, spark arrestor, fuel lines for clogs (even though seeming no spark). Assumption: there is a switch on the handle for slow/fast run. My thought is it may have for some reason disconnected. Plan for now is use gas powered weed eater to edge and when I have time, dismantle and check the on/off switch, throttle switch, etc. Any thoughts (other than don't buy another Troy Bilt, LOL)? Thanks!
  14. Great looking dog Erik.
  15. Excellent points!
  16. There is a special corner of hell for people like this POS - and POS is insulting to true POSs. My gosh...anyone who hurts animals, kids, or the elderly (i.e. defenseless/voiceless) - God will pay them back at some point; of that I am certain.
  17. Your father in law does nice work - very cool.
  18. There are some legal eagles who are members here - maybe get a consult from them at their office (not being snarky). In my humble opinion, seems some things a person keeps paying for and I don't agree with it. But I would talk to a good TN lawyer (as mentioned, see them here as members with their info). Good luck!!!!

    Hiking Pistola?

My Glock19 and depending on the length of the hike, a little KelTec P32 in my bottom cargo pants pocket.
  20. Or what a US official with Secret Service protection does...just sayin'
  21. NYC isn't too bad - our company is based there so I have been a few times. Manhattan is all I have seen but I will tell you as a fellow country boy, it was pretty cool to see Times Square for myself. And except for a couple of subway trips, I did not find it too bad - except for the crowds. Also, if you do go, be danged careful crossing the streets (those that run perpendicular to 6th and 7th avenue - from the 50s to the low 40s in number). Cabs and others will flatten you like a bug on a Mack truck windshield even if you have the right of way. New Yorkers just look and go for it - I suggest being more careful. But do go and have fun. It is something to see, especially all lit up.
  22. Thanks...Christy accuses me of using a zillion fasteners, but things don't fall apart on me, LOL.
  23. You are making nice pieces - can't wait to see the pics of the final product.
  24. Man that is some nice work! I haven't done anything like that, but hope springs eternal for the DIYer.
  25. Nice work on the chair. I now have to use some of the srap and build a couple of footstools for the patio; Christy said she will pad and cover them with outdoor fabric. On your shed project, Popular Mechanics last issue had a good section on building sheds - of course, they had some really cool ones shown. It is fun to make things with our hands.
