  4. I have a 357 M66 from the early 1980s that works great.  Sent it back for a 30 year tune up. I also have a 22 model that works good but stays stiff both in the trigger and case ejector.  With  life time warranty, I think one woudl be covered.  Any company that make that many guns is going to have a lemon once in a while.  I know of others that have had great luck with the raging bull models.
  5. Picked it up at CDNN Sports and hope to head to the range in a day or two.  Anyone shoot one yet?
  6. I purchased some of this ammo last evening thinking it was regular 45 long colt.  Then I read it closer.  It has corbon bullets and say it is loaded with a modern black powder.  Is this still ok to shoot in my Ruger Blackhawk?  I am thinking so but can find out much about this ammo.    Bill
  7. I don't have one and am looking to get one for plinking mostly and maybe as a deer rifle.  It looks like there are old, used, new, etc around and am wondering about opinions on which to select.  Dicks has new ones for about 420 and that is just a little more than the used prices.  Are the older ones with the JM stamped barrel that better or different?  Any models better than others?   TIA, Bill
  8. American Handgunner recently did a review onthe 10MM full sizes.   http://americanhandgunner.com/perfect-10-hunting-machines/
  9. I carry a Ruger SP101 in 357 with a 2.25 inch barrel.  A little heavy but fits well.
  10. I heard that it was picky on ammo and the company is working to fix that issue.
  11. Have you shot a ruger sp101?  I have one in 357 and with a hogue grip, shooting 38s is not bad.

    RIA 22 TCM

Anyone shoot this little magnum yet?  I read the article in American Handgunner on the RIA 22TCM.  Looks like a neat gun and caliber.  Not sure about the availability of the gun and ammo.   Bill
  13. Well, finally freed the stuck round on the slide.  I checked the CZfirearms forum which was really helpful.  I sprayed some wd40 on the barrel, removed the firing pin, and then waited a week or so.  This morning, I attached the slide, slammed the magazine a couple of time, then tried to pull the slide.  On the second pull, it came back and out popped the round.  It was slightly scratched on the rim. I am guess since this gun was from my Dad and he bought it years ago unfired, I am thinking it was maybe a break in issue.   So once the snow stops on NE TN and it warms up, I'll head out to the range again.   Bill
  14. Great ideas and there is a live round in it so I twill take out the firing pin and point it to the ground and give it a whack with a rubber mallet.   thanks
  15. While shooting while my CZ52 yesterday, it jammed the slide with a round inside.  I can't rack it loose. I decocked it, removed the slide and I cannot slide the barrel back far enough to remove it.  I can see the round.  Before I get it looked at, any suggestions?  I shot about 35 rounds before it happened.   thanks, Bill
  16. I use www.slickguns.com under the ammo heading to see best deals and relative pricing.  I recently bought from Selway Armory.
  17. Eastman Chemical Company sent out a note to employees that the law did not change the company policy and that firearms are not permitted on company property.
  18. GC, yes the action seems tight and with the 8 inch vent heavy lug barrel, she tips the scales at about 47 ounces.  Thaks for the tip on parts and I look forward to the versatility.
  19. Just traded as S&W Sigma 9mm for a DW 15-2 357 8inch revolver.  9mm are hot so it was a good trade.  Any Dan Wesson shooters here?   Bill
  20. I heard that a local dealer is only selling ammo when you buy a handgun.
  21. Will do thanks
  22. Anyone find it on line anywhere?  I just checked the ususal four sites and no one has any. Here in NE TN, local stores are limiting to one box but sell out with 30 minutes.   Bill
  23. Not sure what this senate letter means now though...
  24. I'd fire it so you don't load over it..
  25. Looking to do something new for 2013 and get a target handgun.  I have what I need for defense and want something more on the target side.  Not sure if revolver or pistol is the way to go.  Any reasonable priced suggestions that have worked out for you?   Bill
