  4. I have a 357 M66 from the early 1980s that works great.  Sent it back for a 30 year tune up. I also have a 22 model that works good but stays stiff both in the trigger and case ejector.  With  life time warranty, I think one woudl be covered.  Any company that make that many guns is going to have a lemon once in a while.  I know of others that have had great luck with the raging bull models.
  5. Picked it up at CDNN Sports and hope to head to the range in a day or two.  Anyone shoot one yet?
  6. I purchased some of this ammo last evening thinking it was regular 45 long colt.  Then I read it closer.  It has corbon bullets and say it is loaded with a modern black powder.  Is this still ok to shoot in my Ruger Blackhawk?  I am thinking so but can find out much about this ammo.    Bill
  7. I don't have one and am looking to get one for plinking mostly and maybe as a deer rifle.  It looks like there are old, used, new, etc around and am wondering about opinions on which to select.  Dicks has new ones for about 420 and that is just a little more than the used prices.  Are the older ones with the JM stamped barrel that better or different?  Any models better than others?   TIA, Bill
  8. American Handgunner recently did a review onthe 10MM full sizes.   http://americanhandgunner.com/perfect-10-hunting-machines/
  9. I carry a Ruger SP101 in 357 with a 2.25 inch barrel.  A little heavy but fits well.
  10. I heard that it was picky on ammo and the company is working to fix that issue.
  11. Have you shot a ruger sp101?  I have one in 357 and with a hogue grip, shooting 38s is not bad.

    RIA 22 TCM

Anyone shoot this little magnum yet?  I read the article in American Handgunner on the RIA 22TCM.  Looks like a neat gun and caliber.  Not sure about the availability of the gun and ammo.   Bill
  13. Well, finally freed the stuck round on the slide.  I checked the CZfirearms forum which was really helpful.  I sprayed some wd40 on the barrel, removed the firing pin, and then waited a week or so.  This morning, I attached the slide, slammed the magazine a couple of time, then tried to pull the slide.  On the second pull, it came back and out popped the round.  It was slightly scratched on the rim. I am guess since this gun was from my Dad and he bought it years ago unfired, I am thinking it was maybe a break in issue.   So once the snow stops on NE TN and it warms up, I'll head out to the range again.   Bill
  14. Great ideas and there is a live round in it so I twill take out the firing pin and point it to the ground and give it a whack with a rubber mallet.   thanks
  15. While shooting while my CZ52 yesterday, it jammed the slide with a round inside.  I can't rack it loose. I decocked it, removed the slide and I cannot slide the barrel back far enough to remove it.  I can see the round.  Before I get it looked at, any suggestions?  I shot about 35 rounds before it happened.   thanks, Bill
