  1. FIST makes one that tilts to parallel with the push of a button for sitting in a car.   Get out and just straighten it back upright--no need to repush button.
  2. robin 48   I'm a 3 percenter too.
  3. Going on an Honor Flight as a Guardian this Saturday am.  Hope he's there.
  4. Common sense is like deodarant.  Seems the people that need it the most don't use it.
  5. I am a Guardian on an Honor Flight thi Saturday am.  The TN Congressional Delegation has said they will meet us at the WWII, Vietnam, and Korean Memorials to insure our 30 vets get into the sites.   Desjarlais has been in touch with the flight leaders several times since early last week.
  6. Southern Middle Tennessee Honor Flight scheduled for "0 dark thirty" on the 12th.   Meeting tomorrow on final details and this issue.  I doubt we'll cancel--non-refundable tickets obtained 30 days ago to secure best price.  Shame will be that the Korean vets probably won't get to see their memorial.  Also have a few Korean and Vietnam vets who'll be disaapointed.   They are all open air" and public property so let 'em in!   Honor Flight DC, who host all the flights at the airports, would probably agree to keep the areas clean.
  7. Meeting tomorrow for Southern Middle TN Honor Flight which has a flight scheduled for "0 dark thirty" on the 12th.   Not sure we can cancel since 50 tickets were obtained30 days ago to get the best price.   Part of the group is Korean War and a few are Korean and Vietnam so those closures also affect them.                 I'll post the results ofthe meeting.
  8. Southern Middle Tennessee Honor Flight has a trip to DC scheduled for October 12th.  Tickets bought, meals and bus scheduled, etc.   Meeting Friday to determine next steps.   Music City Honor Flight ceased to operate but this group still continues as long as they can raise the money.    Proud to be going on another flight as a guardian.
  9. Hope it is a wakeup call to a bunch more of the politicians that support ridiculous gun control measures.  How can they think that restricting legal gun owners will have any effect on illegal or mentally deranged gun owners?   Or is it not about gun control but about control?
  10. I will not forget either. Spent three weeks in NYC with the Red Cross.   Buildings were destroyed, others were closed off for safety, people were devastated, but there was a spirit of "we will not be defeated".   Of the 26 disasters I have worked it still sticks out in my mind.   Sad that so many, including most politicians,  have forgotten what radical Muslims did and what Muslim leadership has never condemned.
  11. peejman is right.  It has become a legal sysem, not a justice system.   No matter why or what the law needs to make people responsible for their actions and a hard look needs to be taken at a legal system that lets a jury reduce a murder charge that easily.
  12. Not advised if vehicle has a "knee airbag".
  13. The last time I visited a Starbucks was when gun groups and forums asked that we shop there and tell them we appreciated their common sense policy. My next visit will be this Saturday to do the same thing.
  14. The silence is deafening because incidents like this run counter to their aims.    No money to be made by the "racebaiters" from publicly saying anything about this.    The only thing you might hear out of them is a condemnation of whatever punishment is given the three blacks.
  15. Tundra.  Good solid truck.  IMO, may cost more but you get more.   Have a base model 4x4 and would but another one if I needed it.
  16. It may be called profiling but it's really common sense.   If blue-eyed, 5'2", blond white women committed the majority of bank robberies wouldn't it be common sense for a bank to be concerned when a blue-eyed, 5'2" blond white women walked in their door?   People need to get over PC quit worrying about hurting somebody's feelings  and use common sense!
  17. some speculation that the White House will get DOJ to explore a violation of Martin's civil rights by Zimmerman.     It isn't double jeopardy because one charge was state and the other federal and one charge was murder the other for a civil rights violation.                        Can you say "race baiting" ?
  18. It seems to me that an instructor once told me a  good point to remember:    under TN law carrying a handgun is against the law.  A HCP is a defense against violating that law.    Right?
  19. Wow ! A two-pack !  Hope they don't run out before I get my order in.
  20. Ruling makes sense to me but then making sense is not something always done by government agencies.
  21. Several years ago a GM manager told me that GM had more money in retiree benefits like free health care for their family for life than they had in the steel in a car.
  22. =1 Chucksoes.  And Corker, too
  23. Nice.  Hope to get to see it sometime soon
  24. Whether it shows up on the video or not does not matter.  My country's flag was abused.  In the first place it should not have been used for commercial purposes and under no circumstances do you purposely let it touch the ground.    While discussng or showing other violations may be educational for a lot of folks the tne indicated possible excuses for his violation of the US Flag Code.   Wrong.   No violation is exceptable to me.                      As to burning, a ceremony to destroy unusable flags is the method to be used.   What small amount of chemicals may be released like a drop of water in the ocean compared to what else is happening wtrh air polution.    The ceremony should be at dusk, private, reverent, and include the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance.   Check with a local veteran group as they often perform this service.   The American Legion in Manchester maintains a sealed, metal box outside the building for people to deposit flags throughout the year and on Flag Day, each June 14th, conducts a ceremony to honorably dispose of our community's flags by burning.    People fought and died for what that flag stands for and it should be honored and respected not used as just another object.
