And the meeting date is?

I was in the store in Winchester about three months ago. Same name, same location, same signage. Clerks were upbeat and talking about the new ownership and didn't seem like they were worried about closing. Don't know for sure but I "heard it through the grapevine" that the new owner is a pilot with FedEx.

It is my understanding that unless a judge issues a judgement that someone is mentally ill there is no "official" record that will be viewed by anyone doing a background check. That seemed to be the problem in AZ as no one (friends, school, neighbors, parents, etc) had ever brought his actions and mental state to the attention of the court system. He passed the AZ background check.

The dislike for the M16 by some of us older guys may be due to the way it was introduced to troops in the 60's. Little to no training unless you were Infantry, lack of chromed interior prts like the barrel, no way to seat the bolt into the receiver, and being told it didn't need much cleaning (when it needed just as much if not more care in the jungle) was what they said. The early problems ruined it for a of of guys.

Is anyone happy with the "NEW" Comcast cable guide?
Just2Honor replied to Links2k's topic in General Chat
Just be glad you don't have to have Charter Cable as your only choice. Always raked the lowest in every category by Consumer Reports and I know why!! -
Maybe I missed something when I bought a Glock. I thought the purpose of the safety being a part of the trigger was to allow me to have the weapon ready to use without any other action other than draw, aim, fire?

May have already been posted last year but here is an article from Brenham TX about a bank in nearby Chappell Hill that is welcoming handgun permit carriers. Smart man! Brenham Banner-Press > Archives > News > Bank encourages second amendment

Something a little more mundane than black panthers and odd snakes...

In Fall/Winter, do the leaves turn pale brown but don't fall off until just before the new leaves grow in the Spring? -
They don't eat the roots of plants and grass but their tunnels kill the roots. Moles eat underground insects, mainly grubs. Get rid of the foodsource. Put down a granular treatment to kill the insects and grubs in the ground under your plants and grass and the moles will move on to a better buffet. Works for me!!

My understanding is that when Radnor Lake was taken into the state park system it was considered a "natural area " to be preserved for all to enjoy. I think there are a few others scattered around the state call "parks" Now they name these areas state natural areas.

I'm just a guy trying to learn to be better myself but...An instructor once told me pulling and pushing can be your finger position on the trigger. His lesson went like this: Too little finger pad will make you push right as you pull and too much pad will make you pull left (for a right hander). Maybe the grip and/or distance to the trigger made a difference with your friend's weapon.

How about add some height as well as bulk? I'm 6'4'and 235 lbs--nothing ever comes close to fitting me.

Amen to the article and East Tn Patriot's comments. OC may be used against us when it is done inappropriately. We all need to think about the long term effect, not just our personal belief. I am not saying do not OC--that's your choice and I will defend your right to do so--just put some thought behind your actions.

Why is the NRA holding a convention in Chicago? Why would they bless a city and state that is so unfriendly to guns? Do they think the laws will change because they get members to spend money there?

Like Castor said, a lot of unexplained things are in this world. Wife was wearing one somebody gave her. Operative word is "was". Gave her headaches after a couple of days so she threw it in a drawer. Headaches stopped by the end of that day.

You can carry in restuarants where alcohol is sold for on premise consumption too, but you cannot drink a drop. That's where a lot of confusion comes in because that wasn't always the law in TN

Army went through a big deal about clip vs magazine when the change was made from M1 to M14. Drill Sargeants went ape if a recruit called it a clip for an M14 because the manual said "magazine". As a Training Officer I thought it was a little weird. I once heard a Lt Colonel make the statement that it didn't matter what they called it, the main point was did the recruits know how to load it, insert it in the weapon, and then hit a target. Afterall, Vietnam was ramping up! Of course he other obsurd thing was we were training on a weapon that wasn't issued "in country", the M16 was!!

My great, great grandfather, Henry Parker Haney, was the fireman on the Texas engine that chased the General from Kennesaw, Ga towards Chattanooga (Disney's "Great Locomotive Chase"). He was the last survivor of those involved on either side in what is called "Andrew's Raid" because he was only 16 at the time. Served with the railroad during the war. As an adult he served as Assistant Chief of the Atlanta FD for many years. As a youngster I thought I was something special. Now I realize he was special, not me.

Where to get fingerprints in Knoxville?
Just2Honor replied to Sandman's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
+1 OhShoot. Follow his advice. Fingerprinting is part of your $115 fee. Go to DMV first and then go to get the fingerprinting from their approved list or it's a waste of your time and money. -
First one I've heard of. Seems to me they need to take down the gun buster sign because by force of law it says no carry in TN. I guess they could post their own sign that said no open carry if that is what they want to say to the public.
-
What rules? We have a choice in this state of carry with a valid HCP. No mention of open or concealed by the legislature per the AG. Or anything in between, either. Some folks are more comfortable one way than the other.
