Gadget called "Bark Off" did the trick for me. Battery operated sensor makes the gadget send a ultra high pitch sound when the dof barks. Takes a week or two to train the dog that barking gets an unpleasant experience. Set it up on your property aimed at the area the dog is in. Have several at diferent price ranges depending on the power (distance) Dogs still bark if truly disturbed but don't bark at every sound or squirrel, etc.

Second to robtattoo's sugestions if you don't mind coming southeast. PM for directions to Walden's Range. "Scrappy" is a good word for it but it has a separate pistol range and rifle spots are covered with build-in benches. Has installed target rests now and sells targets. It's less than 10 miles from exit 114.

I have Digital Home Package (Basic, Expanded Basic, on-screen guide) $61.99, Digital View Plus (?) $10, HD Ultra View $5, DVR rental $15, with DVR upgrade for HD $5 that totals t $96.99. Add 12 meg Internet at 44.99 and it comes to $141.98 plus $13.68 in taxes and Coffee Co fee for a grand total of $155.66. I could get this reduced by about $24 if I sign a 2 year agreement. I might sign the agreement and up my internet to 18 meg--still save $15 a month. I have no choice as they are my only supplier unless I cut down a bunch of trees to go satelite. Don't want to do that since the trees are why we bought the property. Suggestion: save the Direct and Dish adds you get and take them to the office to negoiate a reduction. Worked for me once.

Photos of my dad's razor from his college days--graduated in 1928. This was supposed to be a big improvement over a straight razor as the bar pushed down on the skin for a closer shave. Sheffield Steel blade snaps on to the handle inside the case for storage and sharpening. Has a very fine stone on one side and a strop on the other. All fits into one neat package. Made in England by Rolls Razor. Pictures by morelandr - Photobucket Colt 45 was in my father-in-law's collection. Serial # is 299900. Shipped to Army April 1918.

Pulled over last night - carrying
Just2Honor replied to zenman's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
+1 to DaveTN I'm fairly new to carrying but one thing I've heard loud and clear from this site is: Like it or not, it is against the law to carry a firearm in Tennessee. Those of us with a HCP are an exception to that law. We have the priviledge to carry as long as we do so under the law that gives us that priveledge. Acting in an unreasonable manner will get the laws governing the priveledge changed. Local law enforcement, state troopers. etc will get the ear of DOS and they will talk to legislators. Want to be fighting becoming a "must inform state" and get hassled because you didn't say so quick enough in the eyes of the LEO or spend our energy trying to get the carry law changed to "our" way of thinking? -
DMV in Tullahoma was about 15 minutes total including my filling out the form!

Kindle Store has books by Gabe Suarez, Dave Grossman, Andy Standfield, and Applegate/Janich. Probably have others--these are just the authors I looked for a couple of weeks ago.

I am shooting some military .45 ball that my father-in-law stored in a GI ammo can since the late 60's/early 70's. He kept it in the house so the temp stayed pretty level. No fail to fire etc after about a 100 rounds through his 1911 that was delivered to the Army in April, 1918.

What do you do on Sept 11th in rememberance?
Just2Honor replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
I'll be giving a short talk at my church on my experiences, impressions, thoughts, etc as a Red Cross volunteer at the WTC then I will attend my American Legion post's ceremony at our courthouse where we recognize the first responders from our area-police, sheriff's deputies, city and volunteer fire, and ems. This is our 9th year of hosting this ceremony. -
Got pulled over this morning with handgun in vehicle
Just2Honor replied to 93civEJ1's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Got stopped a few months ago by a Knoxville PD motorcycle officer. I informed him of a weapon and HCP when he walked up. He said it wasn't necessary and asked where my weapon was located. Then, with a big smile, he said "if you don't show me yours I want show you mine". I think he appreciated my being out front with him. By the way, I deserved ther stop and the ticket> -
TN does not require a person to register under any party; however, to vote in a primary you must declare which party's ballot you wish. Don't need to be a party member, just a qualified (registered) voter in that precinct. You can only vote in one party's primary. But you can vote in one primary and then vote for the other party's person in the general election.

Should have said that my door has window panes in the top portion. I would see who was at the door. -

What if the BG is on my uncovered deck, at the back door, at 3 am, rattling the doorknob? -
What was the point? Show LEOs in a bad light? Starbucks ad? Rediculously unfunny and stupid.

I've often heard the phrase "I wouldn't go there without a gun"...I always wonder; if you wouldn't go there without a gun why would you go there with a gun??? +1 RobertNashville

Great to hear good news. I think you're being a liitle modest. YOU made it happen, not luck, chance, happenstance, karma, etc. I'll bet your attitude towards doing what had to be done to get your degree is a big part of your success.
