Westboro Baptist Church in Knoxville 10-18-12
Just2Honor replied to wewoapsiak's topic in General Chat
vontar, you don't have to ride to join the Patriot Guard. Anyone can be in a standing flag line at a visitation or funeral. Sign up and you'll get emails of activities in your region. -
Check out the local American Legion Posts for your eligibility and if any have a Legion Riders group.

Check out Oath Keepers at www.oathkeepers.org. Not for or against militias but for the Constitution. Goal is to educate LE and military on the need to uphold their oath to defend the Constitution. Started after Katrina when the NO police went door to door confiscating weapons from law abiding citizens, used warrantless searches of private property for weapons, etc. Ask the military to help--some did, some didn't. By the way, the oath any of us who served in the military didn't have an expiration date. That fact, my belief in the Constitution, and my disgust at what is happening to our rights is why I joined. Don't have to be LE or military to join, just feel a need to do something to help defend the Constitution

Channel 5 Nashville Story To Air Thursday
Just2Honor replied to Jimbo100's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I question what was there first--the firing range or the subdivision? If it was the firing range then the complaints need to go to the developer and real estate agent for not disclosing that fact. If it was the subdivision then the decision maker on the location should be at a minimnum be reprimanded and taken off any future job promotion list. I wouldn't want the noise from a range either but I wouldn't knowing buy the property if I knew it was there. Would be like building next door to a railroad track and then complainting to the railroad about the trains. -

Just a progressive (ie liberal) rationale for taxing you more to redistribute to others. They won't call it a tax--FDR never used "tax" with SS and the additional Medicare payment isn't called a "tax". To me, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck. The rationale the Supreme Court used for SS, Medicare, and Obamacare was under the "taxation clause" in the Constitution, but liberals don't want to tell the "working middle class" that they ever impose taxes--only that the Repblicans do after they exempt the "wealthly" Why doesn't someone break this off in them?!! -
I believe prohibited would have a slash across it. Signs were probably used to designate approved routes as a lot of streets in the "old counties" are too narrow or a corner too sharp/narrow for a tank. Also warns that you may meet or come up behind a tank. The locals get tired of things getting torn up by NATO, particular US.

Mitt Romney Vs Ron Paul - Who Do You Choose?
Just2Honor replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm voting for ABO (Anybody But Obama) so Romney it is as nobody else has a chance. -
He, and all the rest, took an oath to defend the Constitution. Same thing for local pols and LE. He, and all the rest, need to defend it not change it because they might disagree. Check out www.oathkeepers.org If you're military or a vet it applies to you also. Don't remember a time limit when I took it in '65.

How do I find when my membership is due? Want to make sure I continue to support the site.

Hero Gear signs says (or words to that effect): "HCP Carriers Welcome Please keep weapon holstered. All others please clear your weapon outside." Seems a reasonable approach to me and clear as to the shop's intention--welcoming, respectful, and safe.

Military & Police Call in About Gun Confiscation Orders
Just2Honor replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I invite everyone, particularly military, veterans, and law enforcement, to check out and join Oath Keepers (www.oathkeepers.com). A group of over 16,000 members who still abide by the oath they took to "defend the Constitution" (I don't remember an expiration date, do you?) Not a militia, but a non-partison group with the goal of educating military and law enforcement. After the gun confiscations in New Orleans (Katrina) when LEOs and some military made searches of law-abiding citizen's homes to confiscate all guns in the city the group picked up steam. Thankfully some military refused to obey an order which violated parts of the Constitution. Does your sheriff or chief of police know his responsibility to the oath he took? How about elected officials? You don't have to be military, veteran, or LE to join as a "supporter" -

+1 NRA Everyday (and night) is a flag day at my house. Finally bought a saucer-shaped, 20 LED light for the top of my pole so I can leave it flying 24 hrs. -

If you have an old flag that needs to be "honorably retired" check around your local community to see if a veterans group will be accepoting flags for proper disposal. My American Legion has a ceremony this Saturday for the communioty. We will handle te propoer disposal for them. -
To any WWII vets on the forum, THANKS for all you did to stop that horrible menace to free people all over the world.

I use Terry Walden's place on 16 Model Rd, Manchester. Take the 105 exit, go right, turn right less than a mile on 16 Model, and look for his sign on the right. Usually meet someone from the 'boro coming or going when I visit. All of them tell me they would rather come there then go local. Rifle range has 300 yds Rules are common sense by everyone and it's rarely crowded. Cost is $5 for all day.

hipower, check for a rerun during this week. Usually rerun last week before the "new" is aired. Check their website.

Speaking of ripoffs: JC Penney charges you the same shiipping rate for to your home as to a store. They run a truck each week from the warehouse for restocking the store, so where is the extra shipping cost? Why not have a handling charge for each order and shipping charge if you don't want to pick it up at a store? Because you get to carge more if you cambine them into a fee nobody can compare!!

Best to check the details wit where you will take the course. My instructor gave the impression that the state requiured a certain minimum but he could add additional. Example, we fired three rounds at 3 yds with our offhand and 3 rounds at 7 yds kneeling. Didn't screw anybody up but was a change from what I've heard o0thers describe.
-
+1 tnhawk Hit or miss and 15 yds is the fartherest. Most shots were from 7 yds. My class shot at metal sillouettes and you got a sound or nothing. Instructor would not allow a 22. as he said that was "unrealistic".

TN State Guard is a member of TNVOAD (TN group within the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) This a NGO umbrella-type organization fostering communication and coordination between groups that respond to disasters. Sometimes attended the meetings and participated in responses but that may have been because the Military Dept held them back as they also control TN Emergency Management.

My friend died three years ago from numerous cancers caused by exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He was a much decorated soldier from three tours in that war, the first in 1962 and the last two with the Special Forces. Survived only to die from a silent, painful killer. Buried with full military honors at Arlington in June 2010. Rest in Peace, Lawrence. Thanks for a job well done even though it wasn't very appreciated at the time.
-
A wonderful tribute to all those who served the rest of us in that war. I know you are proud of your dad for his service, life and writing talent. Thanks for sharing. Do you mind if I share it with some others in the American Legion post here?

Before I'm helpless or crippled, go to sleep one night and don't wake up on this planet.
