frankmako is correct.   Riding does mean you need to be a more defensive driver.    It would help us if four wheel drivers would pay attention and be aware that there is someone on the road besides themselves.   Left turners in front of me and cars at intersections with no light scare me, especially when I see they are on the phone..      As the slogan goes, "Motorcycles are dying to be seen"

Agree with walton6467.  If you are a Tennessee resident you will be required to have a TN issued HCP within 6 months of becoming a TN resident regardless of any other state's permit you might have been issued.. 

IMO, if the instructor is not certfied by DOS, doesn't follow the lesson plan from DOS, doesn't show the required DOS video, and doesn't issue you a certificate from DOS you won't get very far with the clerk who handles your application at a DMV office.   Before anyone takes this course as a sustitute for a local instructor I would verify with DOS that it is approved. 

Can't read the other sign but the words below are not according to the "letter of the law",  but I won't be the "test case".   Their intent is clear and I'm afraid a judge/jury will see it that way.  Also, they won't get any of my money out of principle.

I'll confess:   For a period of time I was a Training Officer in a basic company, the XO of the Drill Sergeant School, and a CO of a basic company at Ft Bliss, TX  ('65-'66).     There I've said it.  Jump on me with both feet but before you do I'll know that it wasn't my choice.  I was trained as a Tank Platoon and a Heavy Weapons Leader and happy as a pig in mud at Ft Hood.

My two experiences in two different parts of the state have been positive.   In one the officer asked where it was located and after I told him he said, with a big grin,  "Don't show me yours and I won't show you mine".

Ok, so some might say its' not a "motorcycyle" anymore I converted a 02 Kawasaki Voyager to somethinbg with stability.  Used a Voyager Kit so it can be a two-wheel in about 5 Minutes and back to a trike in about 15.         At least I get some "adventure before dementia"  and the wife is a little happier  !                     Can't get the pic to post-any help?

I'll add that when you talk of firing in Vietnam you need to realize that soldiers very often didn't see an enemy due to the dense undergrowth.  The job was to repulse the enemy's ambush or attack with rapid and sustained fire.  Volume counted, not necessarily accuracy like it was one on one or on a range.        Most of the rounds didn't go over the jungle, they went into it as fast as possible until the other side stopped fiting or you ran out of ammo.

My opinion: You see the gunbuster sign most often because of the two choices in the law it is a no brainer for a business owner, etc. vs the other sign option. The same confusion expressed about the wording, size, etc. makes it too difficult once the gun buster option was added.

Encourage all LE and Military to join Oath Keepers.   All of us, too, whether ex-LE or veteran are eligible.        www.oathkeepers.org      You may not think it's the best solution, but is there another?  At least they are trying to educate people about their responsibilities to "We the People" and about not obeying un-Constitutional orders.

I do most of my business with a local shop and go to the bank before I go to the store.   Helps him avoid the fees and maintain some cash flow because I'd like to see him be successful.  To me it shouldn't always be about the cheapest price.
