BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-17-1308(a), is amended by adding the following new appropriately designated subdivision: ( ) Of a loaded rifle or a loaded shotgun as defined in § 39-17-1301, or of a loaded magazine or clip therefore while being transported in a motor vehicle by a person authorized to carry a handgun pursuant to § 39-17-1351. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2009, the public welfare requiring it.
