Just wondering your recommendations for an optic on a m4 profile in .308? First and foremost it needs to be easy on my wallet, have enough magnification to reach out to 200 meters or so, but still let me use my iron sights and hold minute of bad guys with the recoil from actual use? Any and all opinions welcomed. Thanks!

I've had gear chub for these since I first saw the ad in American Rifleman. The painted rifle beat and scratched all to ugly helped too. I don't have anything in 5.56 right now, so I will have to trust other opinions on these. I think they best c mags, just because they're flat.

I'm pretty stoked about refinishing (Duracoat) for a buddy at work. He hasn't decided on a pattern or color. He did however, ask that it be something unique. I'm just hoping it doesn't look horrible.

Right now I'm carrying a Ruger sp101 with oversized hogue rubber grip in a DeSantis Nemesis. I initially got the holster to try out front pocket carry, but I like it a lot better at 5:30 iwb (both waistbands) and secured with a better bdu belt. I always carry a decent folding knife either in my front pocket or clipped 2-3:00 (iwb, both, again) that's what works best for me in summer clothing.

I would love getting in on this, but I'm not a senior member. I was looking at a couple from benchmade. If this sort of honor system gear testing is commonplace on here, I'll throw a couple knives into the pot. It would be cool too if a few of us could chip in and timeshare a Busse or Tops?

Agreed. My first hunting rifle was a win 94 30-30 and it's taken a deer or two. I'll even go as far to say there's worse choices out there for personal and home defense.

Hey guys disregard my last. I didn't enjoy it last night because I took a break from my 12 hour season 1 of 24 marathon. Or because the australian accents reminded me of steve irwin. But, after a 12 hour work day it was great to come home to some cold modelo and stabbing zombies in the face! It took me a minute to get used to the tempo of mostly melee cleansing, now I love it

I was fortunate enough to get a 3 day weekend. My copy of dead island arrived yesterday and my initial impression is disappointeder than hell. I haven't played online multiplayer or co-op, and most likely won't. If you are a big L4D fan, like myself, Dead Island is a big disappointment.

I would leave it just like it is. Or, swap out that 3 hole trigger for one that has no holes, swap out the grip safety for one with a bit more up sweep (for comfort), checker the front strap to match the lpi of the mainspring housing, cratex bit the feed ramp and dump about 400 rounds thru it to break it in. Then contemplate installing an extended thumb safety, some DIY Duracoat, selling the ctc grips and getting some really tacky fake ivory confederate flag topless lady grips...
