Ruger LCR 357 loaded with Federal/Barnes Expander, carried in a Custom Made Leather IWB Holster.

So far so good guys!!!  Ive fired her 400 times and only the first time had problems.  I do however have to do a "sling shot" on the first Critical Defense round when loading the pistol.  I could see where it would be hateful with some loads/bullets especially those that are flatter in nature.  With care and attention to detail of the firearm I think this can be overcome.     Ive carried this Pistol all week and I love the weight even loaded.  Its the gun Ive always wanted!!  its only missing the Night sights, which will be put on it soon!!!!   Any suggestions?  I want to keep that "stock" appearance.

Got my Gun back last night with the new holster! I haven't started carrying it yet but I did put it on for a little while. Gonna have to break the holster in a little and fire the gun about 100 more times before I start carrying it. Its a little thinner than the Cylinder of the LCR but heavier when loaded down with that 45ACP ammo :) The holster turned out amazing! His craftsmanship is like none other. Here is a pic of both Guns that I have setup for CC in IWB holsters made by the same guy.

So I went and picked up the Ultra Carry 2 over the weekend.  I went out on Sunday and put 100 rounds through it.  On the first Magazine I had a FTF on the last round in the mag.  After that I haven't had an issue.  I plan on putting it through another couple hundred shots before I start carrying it.  Its time to get used to it as well, coming from primarily revolver carry for the past 6 years, this is alot different.  The Gun is now with the person that is making my holster and I cant wait to get it back with the custom made holster!   Thanks for all the input guys!!  Excited to finally have one in my stable!!

Thanks for all the input! I plan on purchasing a high quality custom holster from a guy I know that makes them. I also have read about some of the horror stories with ftf on the 3in 1911 guns. The ramped bull barrel they put in the ultras should help and it is supposed to have the shortest reset of any other 3 in that is supposed to also help. We shall see... I got the gun on a sale but haven't fully paid for it yet, just put it in a layaway since I couldn't let the deal get away. I've wanted one for 5 years now.

Hello All,   I am buying my first 1911 Pistol a Kimber Ultra Carry II.  I want to add to my rotation of carry guns and love the way my friends Ultra Crimson Carry shoots and feels.  Got my gun for a good price and cant wait to go pick it up!!!   I have limited experience with the 1911 platform, mainly training on striker fired pistols like the Glocks, and I carry a Ruger LCR 357.  I have however fired a full size 1911 and my friends Ultra Crimson Carry multiple occasions, BUT i have never carried one.   I am looking for input from people who carry a 1911 platformed pistol on how they typically carry or any other random info you want to provide/talk about.   whj812

Modified Weaver Stance here I guess.... Used that while shooting in the Military and that feels most comfortable to me.

Its liberal people like this that make me sick to my stomach..... it would be different if he had it in his hand with the finger on the trigger or something.... People wonder why there are so many criminals out there... they have almost free reign on people like this Come and mess with my family... someone will be eating some Hornady Critical Defenses!!

Altoids can might allow for more space and give the same amount of portability. Not a bad idea though... might have to throw one together myself!

I like where Im at... just might need to head into Southwest VA or Hancock Cty when it happens. Its a short drive/walk from here and would probably be able to setup an encampment and "survive" for sometime.

I just saw this and it can be a good learning experience and I would like to get included on the next adventure/survival training.

I play L4D2 on the PC some. Ive about mastered the Campaign though... LOL!!

Im looking for more information on this Pocket Pistol.... Im thinking about getting a pocket pistol as my next gun and Im considering this one. Anyone have a review on this one?
