  1. Thanks for the tip. I checked it out and certainly don't mind finishing a kit however they only have an 1861 and 1863 Springfield and I'm currently in need of an 1842.
  2. You need to keep in mind also that there is a difference between replica and reproduction firearms. Most replicas are non-firing where reproductions are quite lethal and fun!
  3. Nice replicas! I purchased a repro .44 cal Colt Army at a pawn shop for $50 last month... that was my find of the month... Can't wait to take out out and shoot it though.
  4. I'm looking for an Armysport or Euroarms repro U.S. Model 1842 for an early war impression going into the 150th anniversary reenactments. If anyone has one stuck in a closet somewhere and is ready to convert it to cash let me know.
  5. I too look forward to visiting and hope to find better service, prices and selection from all previous trips out. I do purchase online from time to time and would certainly use GAD for my transfers where they lower.
  6. My Grandfather used to make me brains and eggs from time to time.... called them 'Cowboy Eggs' and I loved them. My wife grew up eating squirrel brains right out of a fresh cooked squirrel head....and I've witnessed this.... afraid I'm not man enough for the Indiana Jones-like brains from a squirrel skull stunt....
  7. Nice... I may end up picking up the one on GB. I agree that spending money on it is kind of crazy but I do have twin 11 year old little girls who need to learn about shotguns and it may be a good choice for them in a year or two.
  8. My grandfather has a POS old "Saturday Night Special" Titanic .32 cal 5 round revolver that he wants me to re-finish for him. I know that he'd be better off cutting it up and throwing it away however he wants to see it fixed up. I'm really not finding any good info on how to re-finish zinc alloy frames. I know you can't blue them. I know you can't really heat them up.... any suggestions?
  9. I was in a gun shop yesterday listening in on a conversation about this between two of our boys just back from the sandbox over seas. I've been interested in building a piston system now for about a year but they had quite a bit to say about it. They were saying that several units had them over there but they were having a problem with severe failures after about 10k rounds. They said that most of the units were requesting a switch back. That said I'd still love to experiment with one... I enjoy it on my AK but don't know if I'd take one into combat after what they were saying.
  10. Years ago I managed an apartment complex and a tenant moved out and left a Sears Ted Williams M-200 20 GA pump without a barrel. It has been in a closet for years and I'd like to do something with it but have been told that with a barrel it's worth about $150 and the barrels run at least that. It seems a shame to have it sitting around and I'd like to either use it or sale it but need the barrel. I found out that it will take the Winchester 1200 20 GA barrels but they are running $150 to $200+. Does anyone have any idea where I could get a cheap barrel so I could shoot it or turn it?
  11. My Grandfather has a Femaru Mod.37 that was brought back from WWII. It has a broken barrel and I was wondering if anyone knows where I might get a replacement for him.
