At 39.99, the Clingon is a great value. It carries hi-rise and conceals under a T shirt. Hurry, In the space of a few months, his waiting list has gone from 3 days to 3 months. OWB Holsters

As badly as the PO treats it's employees, they try to ban any weapons in any postal facility for good reason. I can't remember when a PO employees or supervisors got killed by a patron, but lots of them get killed by disgruntled employees/former employees. As an aside, the cashier at M.E. liquor at the Costco in W. Nashville still thinks that a sign(out of date, non compliant) prohibiting handguns will keep her from being robbed/assaulted. Sure are a lot of dumb people in this world. If stupidity were painful, most anti-gunners would be on a morphine drip.

The opening paragraph of your link says "Non-public parking lot". The headline appears to contradict this????

I have seen threads this subject that run pro and con and go on for dozens of pages. No official spokesman for USPS will discuss the matter pro or con with a member of the public. Nor will they discuss whether a licensed permitee has ever been arrested in a PO for carry. There is also no uniform signage issued to local branches for posting. There is a popular belief that part e exempts concealed carriers if carry in the Post Office is not specifically enumerated by the laws of a particular state. For example, Arkansas STATE law prohibits carrying a weapon, openly or concealed in a post office. Many states have not prohibited carrying of weapons in post offices in their statutes. If someone has a lot of money for a test case, I would be interested.

Start at the minimum load in your manual and go up 1/10th gr at a time to find the most accurate combo. The most accurate load will likely be halfway or less between min and max. Do not worry about velocity as long as the load cycles your action and burns all the powder. If you are a hot rodder and really want highter velocities, buy CorBon factory loads.

The finish on your new piece appears to be hard chrome. That finish will wear out many many holsters before holsters start to wear on it.

Probably the most respected Les Baer dealer in the country is Pro Load. Order through them for best price and quickest delivers. Save yourself several hundred dollars in sales tax at the same time. Pro Load Distributors Do a search on the Les Baer threads on M1911.org

The last time I was at Stone's River, This fat ******* of a RO yelled at me for changing recoil springs in my 1911. Thinking that there was a approved place to perform such tasks, I asked "where do you want me to take it". He yelled "take it home to work on it". I am an approved RO in several venues with several different orgs. The safest state a gun can be in disassembled. I approve of pro-active range safety, but too many of the ROs at Stone's river have no common sense.

looking for someone to install night sights

Title of thread reminds me of a friend's girlfriend. When I first moved to Nashville, I went to guncity to meet the smith. I was in the market for a 1911 with some upgrades. When I mentioned front strap stippling or checkering, he whipped out a commander with rubber fingergrooves. "This is what I recommend instead of metal work". It was at this instant that I remembered that he was offended when I asked for price list of his work, and realized that I was dealing with the totally wrong person. Neither Ted Yost nor any other top rated custom 1911 smith seems to be offended by requests for price lists. Some of them even post it on their web sites. In the end, I bought a Les Baer Super Tac to avoid the year long wait that most good gunsmiths have. Rubber "guncity" fingergrooves might be appropriate on a Glock but never to cover up the 30 LPI checkering on a Baer.

Hint...Assume it is a metal glock. I would try the trigger before buying. They range from awful good to awful bad. Expensive to correct.

If you can afford the freight and tarriff, CCR does an outstanding job. If I had a gun nicer than an abuse 908 that needed refinishing I would send it to CCR in a heartbeat.

John Walls at Eastside is the go-to guy on revolvers.

Call the Rabbi at Eastside. He is going to do an evening with the 1911 sometime in Jan. Bill Wilson and the Rabbi are old chums. Bill will not be conducting the class himself, but is sending someone who is just a knowledgable. This class won't make you a smith, but will get you pointed in the right direction.

I just bought a can of this and used it to refinish a Sig 225 mag. I followed directions and baked it at three different temps and let it cure about another week before I touched it. So far, I have inserted into an empty gun over a hundred times with little sign of wear. If it works well, I intend to finish a Smith 908 Slide.

Help me out, I assume that wielding a knife in a threatening manner is a felony and that shooting someone(without sufficiant justification) is also a felony. In felony cases, a citizen does not have the option of pressing charges. One can be a complainant, but the state is the "plaintiff" and the only party that has the option of prosecuting(bringing charges) or not(dropping the charges). Despite sloppy reportage, the shootee(clown with the knife) does not have the option of "pressing charges". In mediaspeak, I interpet this to mean that the shootee did not want to file a complaint. Media screwed the pooch on this one again. We are all doomed as long as the average idiot believes what they see or hear on the media.

It seems like you are trying to reverse a trend. Most folks will seize any opportunity go leave NY. Do these folks know something you don't? If your wife won't give in, pack her off to NY and tell her to send you a check every month.

I am glad you pointed out that we are East of the Mississippi river. What about an ordinal point of the compass, does that have anything to do with it? Not to offend anyone in public, "west of the whateverriver" is a box or circle drawn on a map to define a sales representation area agreement between a manufacturer and a sales rep or distributor. The juxtiposition of the location of each party to each other is irrelevant. There is no natural law or legislated statute that requires one party to be in a given direction of the other. At this point, it is unfounded internet rumor anyhow. Now just maybe if we could get Franklin Guns of Franklin TN to move to Franklin, TX, would that make it OK?
-
Somebody else must have distribution rights East of the MS. Kimber is the master distributor of Mepro night sights. Mepro is made in israel. What does a cardinal point of the compass have to do with business distribution agreements? Who knows if it's true. Might be just more internet BS.
-
I 'heard it said' that Franklin Gun is going to be the master distributor for west of the Mississippi. There are supposed to be several dozen pallets in the pipeline headed west. Something about T&E at Gunsite for a gunrag article.

I sure wish we could get rid of jim cooper. Talk about an out-of-touch arrogant elitist. But why should us peasants complain. After all, pooper went to Harvard and is smarter than the rest of us. Just ask any staffer at vanderbilt, or anybody on welfare in the hood. "Coop" be da man. -
Anybody tried the "Blue Bunny" ammo?
