  1. I used to use Birchwood cold blue for touch ups now I use Blue wonder from Midways it is far more durable and I have used it for a total reblue on an old Rossi revolver. I sold the Rossi after about a year after the reblue and it still looked very good. FWIW
  2. Do you really have to go?
  3. At least Gunbroker has the 15 min. rule Ebay does not. for those of you who aren't familiar with it say you bid on a Gunbroker item with 1 min. to go Gunbroker automatically adds 15 min to allow other bidders to decide if they wanted to go higher that way there isn't waiting to the last second to snipe like it is on Ebay. As for the buy now if it is something you want and the price is fair best go ahead and buy.

    mas 49-56

I have 1936 Mas [only dropped once] in the original chambering I shoot Privi Partizan it shoots ok but not overly accurate I can see why they dropped them and ran but you cant have a WWII collection without one.
  5. about $10.00 a box plus shipping from Cheaper Than Dirt
  6. Gregintenn is correct it is most likely chambered in 38 S&W not to be confused with 38 spl and they were never issued by the military they were made by Iver Johnson they sell for $70.00-80.00 dollars on Gun Broker in working condition.
  7. I have used Southern Ohio Gun and Century Arms both have gave me great service. I had a M1 Garand ordered from Century they called me to tell me they couldn't ship the rifle because they found some problems with some of the rifles in the shipment that they had. Both of them have been prompt with shipment and always provide tracking info upon request.
  8. The Ati heat shield is formed to fit around the barrel but is not a drop in fit I had to take some material off the forearm so it would slide properly and about the Knoxx stock there are cheaper models out there ATI also makes those.
  9. I will go you one better I bought the cheapest Moss 500 I could find a old one without the vent rib and it had a poly choke on it $119.00 out the door I cut the barrel to 19 inches put a Knoxx recoil reducing 6 position sock and forearm on it $100.00 ATI heat shield with ghost ring sights on it $30.00 and ATI shell carrier $30.00 give or take a few dollars $279.00 minus what I sold the original stock for comes to about $230.00 if my memory is right
  10. I have no doubt Bill Ruger was influenced by the Luger and the Nambu you can't look at either one and not think of Ruger's 22 pistol. Nice shooter by the way

    .357 value

As been said above it is better to know what a firearm is worth before the purchase especially if you plan on selling.Even if I buy something with the intent on selling it I only buy things I like that way if I get stuck with them not a big deal. Also remember the profit is made on the buy not on the sell.

    .357 value

$350.00- $450.00 based on Gunbroker sales if all original in box less without the box
  13. I would have to agree but those that have them love them to me most all polymer [plastic] handguns are not very good to look at. I have a XD40 and Ruger LCP both great guns and do exactly what they are supposed to do just not very pretty. Hey if someone buys a Hi point because that is what they want or it is all they can afford more power to them.
  14. I wonder if P.O Ackley ever did a blow up test on one I know he did test an Arisaka and found it as strong if not stronger than a 98 Mauser action
  15. A Sgt would have likely carried a M1 Carbine but there is no guarantee just a guess
  16. Larry welcome to Sumner co I live in the northern part of the county near the Kentucky border.
  17. Savage makes two slug bolt action shotguns with a detachable mags 212 and 220 are the model numbers
  18. Yes in most states and places a non FFL can ship a firearm to an FFL usually they require a copy of your drivers license they will have to send you a copy of their FFL signed in ink and you ship to that address. I always put in my ad the following " I will not ship to those places that require me to ship this gun from an FFL Dealer as I am not one know you laws"
  19. My advice go to the smith and wesson forum. they can help Roy Jinks S & W historian hangs out there. Low serial number.
  20. I have two of those pistols [cz82] with "with no rifling" very accurate. I agree with Garufa go see what you can get it for.
  21. I wouldn't worry to much I have had a few Nagants never gave them a second thought never heard of one blowing up the are built like a tank and the short ones sound like one too. I have tied a few guns I built from parts to an old tire an pulled the string on them if no bulged cases or hard to lift bolt handle I figure they are good to go.

    gun trading queston

Legally you would go to whomever you buy your guns from and ask them to do the transfer he your [brother in law] would either ship them to the dealer after getting a signed in ink copy of his FFL or the easier thing is to have him bring the guns when he comes to pick up the auto and the two of you go to the dealer together to do the transfer there will be fees involved or..... check your private messages
  23. pictures as promised [/img]
  24. Bought the S&W 36 today has the diamond round butt grips mod 36 no dash 1 7/8 barrel flat latch nickel plate serial # 136***. Does anyone know what year it was made? Flat latch should put it earlier than 1966 but no earlier than 1958 because of the model number thanks in advance. Pictures to follow.
