Well, when you have 30 people running towards you, which one is the attacker?

So after watching this video : http://monderno.com/monderno/need-gun-go-shopping/ a couple questions popped into my mind. 1 - Would, or should you, fire into the screaming mob? 2 - Or would/should you run into the store and hide behind the dogfood? 3 - And, if you hand handcuffs with you, and managed to incapacitate one of them, would you be charged for kidnapping once the police got there?

Article: Top Concealed Carry Handguns... your thoughts
Twin replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yeah, what he said. Ha. -
That does indeed look nasty. Curious to see how it turns out.

Keep in mind that AR500 is shot head-on in testing, and very rarely are you ever going to be squared off to the shooter. So the bullet and/or its fragments are going to glance off the plate. Just an FYI (see youtube video). With that said, these guys seem to have a good product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtynYKa_bVA http://infidelbodyarmor.com/

Ha, so you do think it would damage the firearm?
-
You might as well not have one if its locked in your car.. :-\ Though having it afterward is convenient :) Cool beans

I was looking at some ballistic tables for 7.62x39 and RBCD's round its substantially hotter than any other manufacturer. It sits at 2390 Ft-lb at the muzzle, traveling at 3100 ft/sec. My question is whether a round like that will negatively impact the firearm? It would obviously be operating at substantially higher pressure... Input? Thanks http://www.ballistics101.com/7.62x39.php http://rbcd.net/Products/Ammunition/

So, the Law Enforcement Safety Act only allows you to carry whatever firearm your certifying department issues?

A little more than $100, but a 30mm tube is nice to have instead of a 25mm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oQg1p1UPFY

Alright. My thought was a C&L could buy them, then distribute. Thus saving a lot of money. I've been looking locally, but nothing's come up. I guess I'll keep on...

I want to buy a 91/30 and was just curious if a group buy could be done, or if one is already being put together. So, input please?

The 11/29 is frequently reduced to 1 day. Or that is what the judge told me when we toured the courthouse during recess. Which I then saw him do several times while in the courtroom. Just an FYI

I want to work with a local gun smith and learn how to do work on guns and do custom work. Is there anyone in the middle TN area, or do you know of anyone who would be willing to teach?

Can I carry loaded magazines into a "posted" location?

Yeah, I was sure to leave the bang-switch in the vehicle ;) I just forgot about my spare mag. -

I took a loaded mag into the courthouse the other day. Guard said no problem. Granted, he kept it with him. That said, I don't see what the point is in going through the rigamarole your planning. -

Yeah, there has been a lot of that going around. They should sue him. -
Well, do they make a noticeable improvement in speed? Is it a life saver or a luxury?

Ok, thats what I'm dealing with. I've got a MAK-90 and am looking at putting the Bushnell on it. The TWS is back-ordered I think, and a bit expensive though. So I was looking at the Ultimak. But, if your having to look down the irons, whats the point in having the red dot though? Especially if your having to look through that peep sight. And, I've never used a red dot sight. So, is it worth the expense?
-
Ok, I'm looking at a red dot sight. And everyone is talking about finding one that will co-witness on the ak. I found one that will, but my question is, why would you want to? On an AR that has flip up sights, sure. But doesn't having a red dot co-witnessed on permanent irons sorta defeat the purpose of having the sight at all? Thoughts?

Another thing to consider, is firing a warning shot has landed people in jail. Granted, I think this was in public, but the DA used the argument, "if you had the time or opportunity to fire a warning shot, you weren't in imminent danger". http://www.newstalkflorida.com/woman-gets-20-years-in-jail-for-firing-warning-shot/ -
Makes you wonder why we're getting raped for $600. But, other manufacturers could most likely match, or beat that price as well.

My main beef with this, is that criminals aren't logical people most of the time. That's why they do stupid things that get them caught. They are animals. A lion might scare away a pack of hyenas one day, for them to kill him in his sleep the next. Letting them get away only subjects you to possible further, even more aggressive violence, and/or them going somewhere else and committing the crime against someone unable to defend themselves. You are essentially throwing a threat back out into society, when you have the chance to neutralize it. -
You wanna, ya know, make some more room in the safe? I might be able to use an M44...

I don't see whats special about your home, if one would merely tuck tail and run if someone committed an act of violence against it. What makes something ours is our right and ability to defend it. Your home is a place you should be able to feel safe, and not have to run out the back door whenever a criminal decides to destroy you and yours.
