I have a .44 now (or, I will in a few short months) -- she was a .38 not long ago- one day before you know it she'll be a .50. It keeps getting better. 22? Forget it- they look nice but they just don't have the power...

Give Leslie Ballin $2500 and you can shoot whatever or whoever you want in Shelby County.

Welcome.

Ah, I wondered about that possibility. Sorry it didn't work out for y'all. Welcome to TN. It ain't Poland, or San Diego, but it isn't bad. I lived in Germany 8 years, and I lived in 7 other states-- this place is ok. But a carry permit makes it a little more ok.

Covington is a few miles north of Memphis, fyi. I guess not all Starbucks folks are hippie-liberal-commie flag burnin' sorts. Coffee shop send coffee to troops overseas It all started last year when the crew at the Covington Starbucks came up with the idea of sending their special blend of java overseas. Over one year later, they are continuing the effort. "We are so thankful for you," "Thanks for keeping us safe," and "You are my heroes." Those are some of the messages Mid-Southerners wrote on bags of coffee headed to US soldiers serving in Iraq. Covington Starbucks Manager Julie Curry said, "Its just a wonderful show of support for the troops whether its from our customers, whether its from some of our baristas, managers...we just wanna let the troops know that we are thinking of them during this time." "Well, I mean it just does my heart good," said Starbucks employee Michael Pruitt. Michael Pruitt is proud to be a part of the Scoops for Troops campaign. A nationwide effort started at the Covington store. Since the coffee collection began, over three thousand pounds of coffee has now been shipped to troops overseas in Iraq. Customers can either purchase coffee or make a donation for the troops. Ed Timberlake of Covington said, "I think its great especially because it gives them something from home and it makes a difference." "The fact they've just rallied around us to help us support the troops, its just been wonderful," said Curry. And Starbucks customers like Timberlake are proud to say, " Good things start in Covington." You can visit any Starbucks store in the Mid-South from now through June first. Just tell employees you want to donate to the Scoops for Troops campaign.

Man, I haven't liked NASCAR since I was about 8. I just don't enjoy watching millionaires drive real fast around an oval track. To each his/her own. America is a great country.

Welcome. Poland? Why Poland, of all places? I'd drive out and fetch 'em, if it were my collection. The fewer hands touch 'em, the better. Things get lost in shipment.

Man, I wish- I have a keg now. A mini-keg, but a keg nonetheless.

I logged thousands of miles going to volleyball tournaments all over the South- nothing like being the pilot of a mini van with 5 or 6 13-14 year old female athletes for a few hundred miles. I wore headphones-- that helped a lot. But the perfume still irritated the h$ll out of my allergies.

Go girl! Congrats Dad. She looks like a great kid. I have 3 grown daughters- Enjoy her while you can, she won't be around as much in a few years!!

I found this on another board-- felt it to be apropos. From a Dutchman: "We in Holland cannot figure out why you are even bothering to hold an election. On one side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer and on the other side you have a lawyer who is married to a bitch who is a lawyer. On the other side, you have a true war hero married to a woman with a huge chest who owns a beer distributorship. Is there a contest here? "

HCP man stops carjacking in Memphis
ZenDog replied to mac12's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, good thing the HCP holder didn't have a Glock- I figure it would've killed the bad guy twice, blown the good guy's hand off, and ignited the entire gas station. Would've made for better footage.... -

If I am there, in the shoes of our HCP-wielding victim, I would probably shoot 'im, honestly. ...and hope for the best. -
Yeah, I think they get your DNA from the fingerprints and then start checking your great-grandparents DNA, the Holocaust-Nazi war criminals' records, and the Ellis Island immigration records... then they visit the cemeteries and check antique High School Yearbooks to make sure everyone is in the right place... Then, they go to Russia and check the KGB archives... In my experience, I found that it goes faster if you give them a semen sample, a hair sample, a fecal sample, and a urine sample, and a blood test--- you gave them that, right? I did it at FedEx Kinko's- only cost me $1439.00 for expedited service.... Well, just kidding . It took me 65 days, hang in there!!!

Way To Go! Clinton 55% vs Obama 45%
ZenDog replied to The Rabbi's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Congrats, Barak Hussein Obama, the beneficiary of the democratic process. . The next Dem primary is in Indiana. I lived there 3 years- 1986-1989. Indiana is a mixed bag, an interesting demographic. On the one hand, it is southern, like Kentucky, and on another had, it is liberal Catholic, like Chicago. Park County, Indiana, used to be considered to northern outpost of the KKK. And folk from NW Indiana all seem like they should be from Chicago. I predict Obama the winner. Bets? -
HCP man stops carjacking in Memphis

What I like is that the Commercial Appeal, the Memphis paper, has the article on the front page of their internet version. The comments are overwhelmingly in favor of self defense. In Memphis, maybe not in Kalifornia, but in Memphis, I think there is a change- the tide is turning. Even Black folks are talking more about self defense than about why the cops are failing protect them. Responsibility versus Entitlement. This is good. -
Well, Welcome to the 'hood. We live a just 2-3 miles from y'all. I hope all goes well. Medtronic?? Smith & Nephew? IP? ...Or...? Self Defense has become a hobby that my wife and I are both are involved with now. We are both former clueless liberal nice people. Now people might call us 'gun nuts' if they knew how many guns and how much ammo we had in our modest home. We did the HCP class at Rangemaster; either there or Range USA are good choices. I think RangeUSA is a little easier to stomach for newbies, but my wife actually appreciated the hard-hitting eloquent arrogance of Tom Givens at Rangemaster-- anywhere your wife will go is the right place. My wife and I both grew up on the streets, so Rangemaster/Givens was ok with us, but more urbane folks might prefer RangeUSA. I had a really good experience with Memphis LEO's with a stalker- he was an ex-boyfriend of one of my patients-- actually torched/burned her car up. They found him, had a 'talk' with him, and she was no longer bothered. A lot of (most, perhaps) Memphis LEOs are hardworking folks trying to do the right thing, in my experience... Welcome to one of the most violent cities in the USA. Gorgeous in the Spring and Fall. Mogadishu on the Mississippi. Good barbecue, good place to have a gun. Been here 20 years and never had one problem at all with any sort of crime. Do you ride bicycles at all? If so, pm me- I am Dr Bike in Memphis.

They need to change it to 10,000 per resident-- I mean, if the zombies come, that may be barely enough!

Not as scary as a shotgun in the face!
