  4. Good luck. You might try to find a Fibromyalgia specialist in your area - or you might have to go to a larger community to find one. I work with a lot of Fibro patients in my psychology practice. Lexapro often helps decrease their pain and fogginess-- but it can take a week or two to become effective. And some folks have side effects that are worse than their illness. Hang in there.

  7. I carry at work. I am self-employed. My customers are mostly mentally ill. Despite my strong support for the 2nd amendment, I have thrown a few customers (patients) out of my office/business when they were carrying. Here's why: I work in mental health. Thus, if I am getting paid to talk to you, there is a probability that you are, at least momentarily, mentally ill. Therefore, now and then, I run into folks who really shouldn't have a gun in their possession, especially in my office!! Like the beautiful 40 year old lawyer who was an ex-stripper who was still sexually involved with her 75 year old father, who was an elected official-- I threw her out when she showed me her revolver. That's just too crazy for me!!!!! (Plus, her boyfriend, also a lawyer, beat her up now and then- he carried illegal weapons-- he was a lawyer, too, and for awhile he was out to get me!!!) A shrink friend of mine had a patient hold him at gunpoint for over an hour. He eventually wrestled the gun away from her and (sanely) refused to see her again. She later killed herself with a hand gun in another shrinks office. She didn't kill her shrink-- I think that was a good decision. So, yes, I carry at work. And, I have knives, pepper spray, and assorted other not-as-lethal options available to me at discrete locations throughout my office. And, $3 million in liability insurance just in case I screw up.
  8. Almost always within reach. Got my Glocks in the dishwasher for kitchen assaults, Mossberg Stainless Mariner 14" 12ga with the SuperTac Underwater Waterproof Mildew-resistant Flechettes for showering, and some claymores are positioned to repel the zombies or pits when I mow the lawn. Sort of kidding. One is really within reach most of the time.
  9. I lived about 60 km from Munich for 6 years courtesy of my Uncle Sam. Went to Munich a lot-- I have been to the Deutsches Museum twice- and I even saw Tom Petty play there in the assembly hall (1984 or so). Thanks for the pics-- lotsa memories triggered for me, most of them are good ones. Hitler got his real start there at the Hofbrau Haus.
  10. +1 on cornered cat- I have referred several of my women patients to that website-- it helps with attitude adjustments about self defense, etc. Another site with a lot of good info for women (and men) is http://paxtonquigley.com/

  13. Welcome. My G26 is here with me at the office today along with an extra mag in case there are lots of extra zombies or I miss a lot or ...
  14. Welcome. I've heard of East Tennessee, but I am not sure it really exists. I think it is a myth.
  15. Ummm...... my HCP instructor was quite fond of consistently well placed headshots... and when I shoot at my range I often spend a few magazines on the Mozambique Drill--- 2 center mass, 1 head shot --- no problems at the range where I shoot. I like to see that ragged hole in the paper head. Head shots stop threats more often than other shots. But I know Miss Manners runs some public ranges. And I think she is married to the Range Nazi. And they work for OSHA- and they are members of the Politically Correct Society who think that the Second Amendment is about skeet shooting or something ...and...
  16. I will continue to carry both- I can't put my glock in my ear when I am at the store to call my wife to see what she wants, nor can I eliminate a bad guy threat immediately with my phone... But a phone like the one in this video might be good to carry in addition to your hand gun--- (stick with it- it has a nice ending) [ame] [/ame]
  17. Rangemaster is decent- a little pricey, but I shoot there because it is so close to my house. Gas has to be added in to shooting costs, too! The range this thread refers to is out at Lakeland. http://www.memphis-ssa.com/ MSSA is a private Non-Profit Club located at 9428 Old Brownsville Rd., Arlington, TN 38002 901-867-8277 (Fax) 901-867-7122 Days of Operation: 7 Days a Week Hours: 8:00 am-Sunset

    dissaster kit???

Tornado pack is at the ready-- Backpack w/flashlight, radios, knife, 100 rds extra ammo, enough cash, underwear, rain gear. And I'll grab some MREs on the way out. My wife and I each have a glock to go with our backpacks. 10 extra gallons of gas in 2 Jerry cans. Our travel car gets 40 mpg- we can drive about 800 miles without stopping at a gas station if we need to. My wife grew up in New Orleans. She used to like to visit there but she won't go back since Katrina-- freaked her out to see her old 'hood underwater. So now we live prepared for tornadoes or "the big one" -- the New Madrid earthquake that will eventually occur in the midsouth.
  19. "we do not allow the Blackhawk “Serpa†Holster in our classes" from tacticalresponse.com website. The serpa has been blasted (no pun intended!) in multiple reviews on a lot of different boards. Several stories of the wearer shooting himself. Don't know if blackhawk has redesigned it or not. I googled Blackhawk Serpa ND and there were a number of pages referencing a problem with this holster. And someone else found these: Gomez' SERPA Review at TPI (SouthNarc's website) Google "Serpa Holster Issues" Thread over at The High Road
  20. Took me and my wife about 65 days.
  21. Vanity game- a win or a loss doesn't hurt either team- they are both great teams-- what really matters is where they are at the end of the season. (That's what you have to say when your team loses a vanity game)
  22. I thought Memphis was the capital of Mississippi:D
