  1. IIRC the 938 has dovetailed front and rear sights so unless the front sight is actually bent I wouldn't worry about any of it or even consider calling Sig Warranty until I sighted it in myself. My first step would be to have a couple of shooting buddies see where their POA-POI is and how there's compare with your own. After that I'd use a sharpie pen to mark the current sight positions and then center them and see where the POI and grouping is. From there once everything's dialed in either mark the corrected sights position or take and save a picture. Best of luck to you with the new pistol.
  2. Yoga pant's and an IWBH LOL, that's really over the top.
  3. There's lot's of DIY chainsaw or band saw sawmill set ups if your mechanically inclined. One of the things tall pines such as you've described is for pole barn's. Try running a CL add for someone with a portable sawmill willing to split the lumber with you.
  4. Yote's are bad here in Middle TN, actually statewide and are not native to here. A few years back there was a booming wild turkey population in an arear I used to live in. They were everywhere and in very large numbers. A large coyote and coy-dog population soon moved in as well. In no time at all the turkeys were gone. There was great puzzlement until game cameras showed the coyotes at work.
  5. Yeah, I read that story yesterday and thought about how upsetting an experience it would have been. As much as I like little kids seeing one hurt or sick is very difficult for me. I'm really grateful that there are still people who'll do this kind of volunteer work for children.
  6. Looks good! I made a big pot roast for a family get together yesterday that went over good but I sent the leftovers home with a nephew. :-{. So for today I've good some stew going in a crock pot. Yours is likely a lot more interesting.
  7. That guys a lunatic with a bent for dangerous play invention and is hugely popular on YouTube. How he gets away with some of his projects in a restrictive country such as England has become surprises me. But that aside he's entertaining and funny as all get out so I've watched a lot of his videos. This one was pretty good too.
  8. Yep. I've seen older cats successfully rehomed and at one time had such rescue cat in my household. But all of these cat's were healthy and had good dispositions. It really sucks but is what it is.
  9. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_JRM_Mars The Martin Mar's is a tough old bird but still looks pretty darn good.
  10. Your right. Misread it. Probably be having cataract surgery done sooner then I want to.
  11. Man, this must be a popular thread for search engines because it keeps drawing in the occasional new guy who doesn't realize it's almost seven years old.
  12. Yes. If you have a business or residence in TN you'll be leaving the vehicle at you can use that address. It's not all that uncommon either. I know people who do the same with vehicles they leave on site in other states as well.
  13. I've been looking around for some used basic blacksmithing tools as well as looking at anvils. A few years back this stuff was expensive used but still a lot cheaper then new. Now it's almost crazy price wise. I'm seeing seriously used anvils priced near new anvil prices. Wow. All I wanted to do was tinker around with some hobby stuff, I can already see that this has gotten more expensive then I remembered. Aside from CL and auctions where else should I be looking? If I do get some more tooling I'm going to keep it very basic.
  14. I'm not the least bit surprised it was vandalism or that juvenile offenders are being charged in relationship to the incident. Having dealt with more juvenile offenders in the past then I ever wanted to I'm not to optimistic of much more then them being tried as adults and being exposed to other criminal offenders. But it's about the only means of dealing with them we have.
  15. You'd think that someone who did any amount of off road driving would have enough sense to realize doing a jump like that's just going to tear up a factory stock truck, SUV or Jeep type vehicle. That kind of stuff tears up custom off road vehicles too requiring constant rebuilds or repair.
  16. I'm in agreement with graycrait on this, it's just to risky a proposition. When someone in the above mentioned couples age group asked me for firearms advice I always recommended a pump shotgun. Now though there are other options such as the Kel-Tech Sub2000 or a Highpoint Arms Carbine.
  17. Wow.. I've read through the posts...yeah I remember ebow. All I'm going to say is TGO David provided sound advice. I didn't achieve any degree of maturity until my late twenties and was still pretty restless at times. The bottom line though you've got to find what you like or what you really want and keep chipping away at it until you succeed. There's nothing wrong with general to skilled labor positions, way to many people consider that line of work beneath them. What is wrong and will limit your opportunities is constant job hopping. I don't know how old ebow is but I'm thinking a military enlistment or even going in the National Guard is worth consideration. It's sure a good way to get a fresh start or your head screwed on straight.
  18. I like the 92F and have an FS model, it was reliable out of the box and asides the thick grip it's a great gun. I've handled some high round count 92's that had amazing DA/SA triggers that were super smooth.
  19. Nice to read about but both look like more tactical tupperware clones to me so unless they're ridiculously inexpensive and run reliably I'm not going out of my way to check one out later.
  20. Absolutely, Solar Stoves and Rocket stoves aren't backpacking items, they're alternative home or vehicle born camping tools. As for no sun no cooking with a solar oven...well kind of...if is fully overcast, night or storming then your right a solar cooker's out. But solar cookers work even when its more overcast then you'd think it possible for them to work, it just adds to the cooking time. I don't know if I'll get really serious about solar cooking and rocket stoves but those that have reduced their utilities bills. The thing about rocket stoves and wood gasification stoves is they use twigs, pine cones, dried grass and foliage to cook faster with less fuel and effort. They also reduce fire hazards. FWIW I've cooked a lot of meals over an open fire or fire pit but some places I've been wouldn't allow an open fire.
  21. It works to, there are several U-Tube-it's with people cooking a surprising number of items in it. I used it to help rehydrate and heat up a freeze dried meal today and it was plenty hot. People are pasteurizing water in them, heck I kind of knew you could do that in a mason jar but never thought about it in a solar oven.
  22. Smokeless tobacco is a nasty addiction and I've seen friends just about lose themselves when they finally decide to quite the stuff. Good for you for deciding enough was enough and going cold turkey. Not everyone can find the determination to do what you've done so give yourself a pat on the back, you earned it.
  23. OK I'm going to officially say this collapsible solar oven should be on everyone's list of either camping, prepping or just giggles and grins fun of outdoor cooking list. http://solarcooking.wikia.com/wiki/SUNFLAIR I'm going to go with a rigid box solar oven for home use later on but this ones going in my disaster prep and camping gear duffle bag. The other thing I have on the way is a replacement multi-fuel Coleman backpacking stove. http://www.ozarkswalkabout.com/coleman-exponent-multi-fuel-stove/ I'm still researching a wood burning rocket stove for truck camping or home use and have it narrowed down to two...the most rugged one (Groves) isn't very fancy but sure looks like it'd handle being dropped or accidently kicked over pretty well.
  24. Oh how deplorable... ;jk
  25. I'd looked at the SOLO stove, they also have a larger model that while not as large as the Eco Zoom you linked to still produces a lot of heat for cooking. I've been looking at the Silverfire Survivor stove as well... http://www.silverfire.us/survivor-rocket-stove-p10 Oh well...at least you can't say not many people make biomass rocket stoves... Thanks GT...
