  1. It is what it is a 1911 clone that goes bang when you want it to pretty much out of the box. Pinned on front sights have never been known for staying on a 1911 and given their ease of replacement no one really cared until the custom 1911 gun craze. If you want it buy it because like any other decent 1911 you can always sell or trade it later. FWIW unless you get a fantastic NIB/NBS price I'd shop for a used gun instead of a new one.
  2. Oftentimes threads take a divergent path of discovery that's entertaining and educational which is actually and ok kind of thing in my opinion. My squawks are pretty much in line with guidelines here. FWIW I'm a practical science type and like to see some applied testing to sustain defective guns, equipment or ammunition claims. Still I appreciate the heads up on a potential problem while also recognizing we should all be a bit more pragmatic about equipment and who says what. I am decidedly interested in viewing conformational test results on the M&P barrel problem mentioned here so hopefully the wait won't be too long.
  3. KA...It's acceptable to say you disagree with a trainer or with a comment they my have made. It only becomes difficult when you cross over into a disparaging line of comment. It furthermore doesn't;t matter if your right or wrong. First Amendment rights in public forums should be prudently exercised with some degree of decorum and respect. Personal feelings are just a red flag inflaming everyone involved. To your credit I see the wry humor you've shouldered as an after effect.
  4. Hmmm. So is this the single column magazine 9mm P that Glock's been foot-dragging about then? Of course it's a Walter instead though. To bad the Europeans keep wanting to stick that outdated squared off trigger guard on all of their new production stuff.
  5. GF's got great hair and your hand's are more fish belly white then mine <grin>... Bottom line though as long as you & Your GF had fun that's al that matters here. Caprice?

    Next Gen Beretta

All much ado about little to nothing IMMO...
  7. I'm ambivalent about this iteration of the CZ75 originator largely due to its HPA blocky resemblance. Still it may grow on me with time as I see some good egomaniacal design in the grip, but that trigger guard...argh... Regardless I'm glad your happy with it and am certain it will provide flawless service.
  8. I purchased an SR9 a few years ago to  play around with a bit and have been totally pleased with it. The SR9c has an even nicer trigger pull but at the time I wanted a full sized variant for my range bag.
  9. Functional and reliable but a bit oversized for EDC form my perspective. Others opinions and experiences will vary. But in the end its all about the ergonomics and point ability of the handgun for the end user. Regardless, glad your happy with your new purchase.
  10. Hater's...LOL
  11. Cosmetically appealing but aside from that what else and why?
  12. Nope. First I've heard of them but if its a good product I'd like to see them be successful.

    H&K VP9

Yawn...striker fired... decent ergonomics but nothing notable enough to make me buy one.
  14. I'm to much of a purest to have such a modification done on a Colt LWC, particularly a 1970's model but to each their own. As to the finish, the Colt Custom Shop creates miracles, at a price of course.
  15. I'd have to handle one but if it were only fractionally larger than the G-42 I'd be ok with it as long as the grip and slide were no wider.
  16. They're unpleasant to shoot, have near non existent sights and have a heel clip mag release...but in their heyday were the go to deep cover pistol. I'm sure the .22LR BU is more pleasant to shoot but aside from its curiosity or novelty have no real feelings regarding it. Heck, I remember shooting Detonic's and the ASP thinking them to be cool but not Colt's and such. If I'd purchased and stored some of them then....
  17. Yeah. Early in my LE career Jennings and like clones were frequently encountered in street criminal and gang encounters. Then it became HPA pistols, or the much preferred "Glock Forty".
  18. I'm amused but also impressed at your foresight in setting aside such a collection.
  19. the last AMT BU I handled was in .380ACP and that was more years back then I like to recall.
  20. I'm not an M&P fan but I'm not a hater either, it all depends on the owner and or end user. I do however, like to see people find good guns that give them enjoyment. So congrats.
  21. If OC is your game go the TEXAS BBQ gun route.
  22. I've always liked the 950, had one once in .25 ACP for a BUG. A friend who flew with the 160th had one in .22 Short for specific survival purposes. Had a Bauer .25 too but never felt it to be the equal of the Baby Browning it duplicated.
  23. I've seen good and bad products made by Taurus...but can say the same for all of the other firearms companies as well.
  24. Impractical as can be and a completely wasteful use of hard earned money...but I still want one. ;>p
  25. There are plus and minus to carrying a long gun in ones vehicle on a regular basis. Once you've had a prized gun stolen from your vehicle you might reconsider what's left inside your vehicle. For myself I consider a bail out/get home bag with minimal gear my best option. A firearms instructor friend who's now deceased believed a double-barreled shotgun with slugs was the cats meow in getting oneself home to a rifle. In this vein a single shot 12 GA SG w/a cylinder bore or modified choke is a handy tool. Mine had sub caliber inserts for .22LR, .45LC/410 & Muzzle loading SG w 209 primer.
