I use a blue flame propane gas heater which work's via convection heat and does a really good job. The beauty of this is you can set up a gas log fireplace or another blue flame heater in your house as well. Then if you have a power outage in cold weather you will have heat.

It look's good and thanks for the post regarding it. I don't see one in my future but sure appreciate the heck out of what Sig came up with in this item. How it holds up long term under heavy use will be interesting.

Jane Fonda is a self-entitled opportunist who has consistently demonstrated her loathing for this country. She has sought out every possible media advantage to shamelessly promote herself. How much of this is Hollywood washed up has been or physiological angst I couldn't say. FWIW she was a true American beauty when she started out but took the wrong fork in the roadway. I avoid her films and leave it at that.

Depending upon group consensus I'm in. The Casa Blanca restaurant on Riverside Drive next to the Hooter's Restaurant is a nice spot, but then so is Shoney's at North 2nd & Kraft St. As to vet owned locations in Clarksville???

I've a love/hate relationship with Glock pistols but generally keep at least one around. My single stack 9mm P prospect (wish) from them seems to have now gone pear shaped...sigh. On the positive side I'm going to go with a 4th gen G-19 and might reevaluate a Shield acquisition.

Ruger LC9 redesign to striker fired, it surprised me

Interesting report. -
I am buying a Shield, who has the best price?

Now that's just being a stinker when someone's got their mind all made up isn't it?;-)+ -
For a set of knock around grips for a 1911 the plastic GI surplus ones are unbeatable...http://www.charleyssurplus.com/1911_a1_plastic_45_auto_grips they're also thinner than most wood grips as well.

Revolvers vs. Pistol discussions aren’t uncommon and in the end it comes down to personal choice and preferences. I do believe it is easier to transition from a revolver to a pistol than the reverse. Additionally I firmly believe it is prudent to be fully competent with both weapons platforms as necessity may unexpectedly come into play. I’ve carried revolvers and pistols on and off duty and actually have a higher trust level with a good DA/SA .357 fixed sight revolver. But I’m also very comfortable with a Glock or similar type striker fired pistol. For as much as I love the 1911A1 personal experience colors my trust level towards it. So in the end it comes back to what you want.

I don't condone the DUI either and FWIW put my fair share of such in jail. However, the OP presented a good question which should concern any of use.
-
Yep and if I recall correctly it'll cancel out your HCP if you have one for a while, but that may have changed.. As to the NFA item's with the DUI conviction, well my suspicion is your probably going to have a set back. But the good news is all of this is a temporary thing, contingent upon no further DUI's etc. Pretty tough experience for you but people do cope. Best of luck.

Decent enough ergonomics, nice sights and a pretty good trigger....overall feels and handles better than a PF9 or LC9 and looks way better than a Shield. Overall though I rate the XDs9 a bit better which kind of surprises me due to the K guns slightly better profile. Bottom line, if you want one get it, you'll always be able to trade or sell it later.
-
Hmmm does it have an Aluminum trigger guard and metal tang safety?
-
Of all those you listed I admire the old H&R the most....good basic and affordable .22 LR revolver....kind of the HPA of its era.
-
Yeah the G-21's a bit oversized. Either try a S&W M&P 45 or a 1911 GM if you want to stay with the 45 ACP. Go to a gun range and rent or borrow some different pistols.
-
I remember those and the Keflex over the early import bolt's. Nice build BTW.

Aside from the deeply imprinted logo markings on the side of the slide I like everything about this 1911 clone....glad your pleased with yours.

Have an XDs 9 already so negative on the XD Mod. 2, but glad your happy with yours and congrats on the purchase.

If your going to DIY then either go the route Dolomite mentioned or use a good grade steel pipe cutter to do most of the cut and finish up with a hacksaw and the reamer alleycat's shown here. But if you have access to a full size metal lathe that's the preferred route. Discuss it with any good gunsmith and see how much they charge. My gunsmith let me use his lathe to cut down a NEF Pardner barrel to 24" and even talked me through some of the set up. Make dead certain what your doing is legal and always have a laminated copy of the ATF letter with you because you are going to run into trouble with this little project.

I'm saying no to another LC9 or the LC9s and could be on the 9mmP Shield if Glock doesn't come though. Even then either the Shield or Glock will have to measure up to my XDs9 to convince me. But anything is possible.

Speaking of Taurus revolvers here's an interesting tidbit for any of you Firefly Browncoats out there...

IIRC the HPA Pistol/Carbines use proprietary magazines which they outsource and the 45 ACP model doesn't use the 1911 GM magazine. It comes down to the perceived market opportunities which I don't see being large enough for HPA or MEGGAR to want to bother with. Regardless as shooters we've become overly obsessed with hicap magazine necessity, which is an entirely different story. To their credit HPA has focused on producing a functional, affordable and reliable product and continued to refine it.. They had the foresight to recognize and available market, targeted same and become successful in doing so. Kudos to them and the customers who've supported them and kept said companies employees employed.

Kind of strikes me as a modern contemporary of the Police Positive size wise, to bad Colt couldn't figure out how to revitalize their company.

Functional blocky guns with a popularity base beyond compare with a surprising number of gun savvy folks who recommend them.
