Height & Length wise the G-17 is certainly 1911 Commander size but the disparity is width for the G-17 and weight for an all steel Commander. Fortunately either of these disparities are subjective with individual preferences and proper belt & holster set up's providing solutions.

I've been pondering the "Giant Commander" comment for a bit now and can't decide if it's off beat humor or what, as the GM would be the closest to that definition. On the all steal variants weight wouldn't be enough to really notice and the slide length difference would only help in an OWB high rise holster. I've carried both a Combat Commander and a GM IWB & OWB and at one time was just plain skinny and am now of a med. to med. heavy build. To get the best carry results from a Commander it's have to be an alloy frame Commander due to its reduction in weight. As to the Desert Eagle being a larger version of a 1911??? I'm guessing this is the full sized boat anchor .357 Mag/.44 Mag/50AE behemoth? If so I'd think it'd take a bit more than a heavier belt to comfortably carry that turkey.

Neither one of the two are terrible with the taser being pretty much over with after the power circuit stops. The pepper spray pain or burns going to last anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes depending on how much of a spray hits her. She'll get a mild chemical burn resembling a sunburn out of it too. BTW their will be a round two when she later washes her face or takes a shower so she will have to tough it out.

Rebuild what yo've already got with some performance add on's or just go with an older 327 or 350 someone else built but never used. Yep, people build a spare engine or sell a project car leaving them with an engine. Run an add in Craig's list and see what happens.

I suspect that was a bit of wry humor on Ted's part NR, he's kind of wired to that sarcastic funny bent which makes for interesting comments.

As much as I like the CZ 75 I've never liked it enough to purchase one or its subsequent descendants. Instead I've stayed with other brands of striker fired pistol's and 1911 platforms. I've always considered the CZ 75 to be more of and improved development of the P-35 BHP which turned out rather well. Size wise I prefer the G-19 as its familiarity is second nature to me.

Your M-14 would more properly be defined as a "Battle Rifle" since it utilizes a full power and length 7.62x51 cartridge. The FN/FAL also fell into this classification. The M-16 you carried wasn't a battle rifle but it wasn't an assault rifle either due to its OAL and barrel length. The XM-177 and later M-4 could more properly be considered as being assault rifles. Its all kind of moot anyway given the whole terminology pretext wasn't worth a tinkers da*n anyhow.

Good price and given my own LCP rides inside my pants pocket who cares what color it is.

Not going to try and speculate on the how and why due to limited available information and unknown variables. What I will say though is someone's very lucky to still be alive and I'm not going to point fingers because stuff like that happens all to often. I hope he has a speedy and full recovery.

It's a funny odd vs. funny lol kind of a gun that works. I neither like or dislike the ugly buggers but I sure as heck won't make fun of them. HPA products have brought a lot of new shooters into the fold for which I am very pleased, some of these shooters progress to other gun brands. All in all not so bad.

Losing a parent is hard, your family and Father were graced with just enough extra time to better come to terms with the inevitable conclusion. While I'm profoundly sorry for your loss I'm also gratified that all of you were allowed that finale bit of time to say goodbye.

Yeah, I'd be a bit jealous to given the sweetheart of a deal she got on that pistol. But on the bright side now you know for yourself it's a good pistol. Imitation and tweaking the design & manufacturing process are the strong suits of Ruger of late. To their credit they simplify, improve and produce the product for less in their SR.

As much as the above picture should make me laugh it saddens me instead. Is military service necessary for a POTUS? No but I''d sure like to see some type of public service other than community organizer.

Go to the factory websight to purchase extra mags, they have a blister pack of 3 mags listed. As to holsters & given the newness of your pistol you'll be limited to a custo leather or kydex holster. As to the trigger think along the lines of a Glock and answer that one yourself. Regarding ammo recommendations run some white box through it to break it in then try some different personal defense loadings to find what works best. If your a DIY type Zack White Leather offers excellent pre cut generic holster kits and kydex is easy to work with. I won't recommend a Fobus holster or fabric UM for defensive pistol carry.

I like the 32 S&W Long and as another here has already said want to like the 327 FC but it and the 32 H&R Mag for all of their ballistic goodness fail to interest me. All I see is an attempt to put 32/20 performance in a straight walled cartridge which is rendered moot with properly loaded or reloaded 38/357 loadings in rifles & handguns.

Having carried a 1911 GM, G-19/23/22 on and off duty as well as a G-27 as an BUG/OD pistol I'll just say the G-19 is by far the more comfortable of the lot for carry and training.

It's an excellent pistol and that's a steal of a deal that either you or her should jump all over and not look back. If she later decides it doesn't fit her hands well then she'll have some excellent trading material The SR-45 has a more comfortable grip angle and somewhat smaller grip circumference then its near cousin the G-21. I genuinely like the SR-9 I own and am very likely to be purchasing an SR-9c in the near future with an SR-45 before the end of the year.

Yawn. There was a time I couldn't wait for the latest Bond film with all of its eye candy and baubles, now I only watch them on tv after network release.

The XDs 3.3 45 ACP is a little fireplug and a very good defensive carry pistol which I'm tempted to buy as I have the same model in 9mmP.
-
I'd have phrased it differently and all the facts aren't in jet but the bottom line is just do your job. On the flip side the OO staf aren't going to put you in a steril environment without proper preparation. As the sneaker commercial says just do it.

Hmm, clip is it? An so it begins again.
-
Early models of PO 1911 clones were very good then not so good. Don't know about current production so can only say test fire the model you want to buy if at all possible.
-
My thoughts on the 938 are its a nice, but very pricey small 9mmP that isn't for everybody.

Well I'd say there's a whale of a story somewhere

Yeah, Glock fumbled around on introducing the G-43 and its initial sales are going to be to die hard Glock aficionados followed by name recognition buyers. At this point its a toss up on whether its going to encroach on S&W Shield sales but my guess is it'll impact XDs9 sales. As for me I'll wait a bit to see how it works out for others before I consider buying one because at this point the Shield is looking like a smarter choice.
