They feel good Dave but I've been down the newest released gun pathway enough times to be a bit jaded so I vicariously enjoy reading about others purchases. But FWIW I can't help but think a new 4th gen G19 paired with a G43 wouldn't bring a smile to anyone's face.

Good post and great picture, you should be pretty well set up now.

I actually handled one today. It feels slimmer in hand then the Shield or XDs 9 but the one I handled had a poor out of the box trigger. Couldn't say what the norm will be but will say that it feels better in hand then a G26 which was and interesting discovery. My prediction is this thing will kill the G42 and will cut into G26 sales. I'm not going buy one anytime soon but will think about it for a while. FWIW I wouldn't be in a hurry to dump a Shield or XDs9 just to buy a G43.

Those were an incredible deal when they were initially imported, great price, fantastic steel and a very good barrel. I knew guys who just shot them as is out of the box or simply substituted military surplus parts for a better action. I also saw some top notch full custom guns made from these as well. A lot of us regretted not buying a couple of these for later use not realizing they would be embargoed.

Yeah, I suspect that a lot of people will buy and then trade or sell the G-43's they've hastily hustled up. That's the nature of new guns and I've been just as guilty as others here are or will be. I fully agree with the OP in that his new purchase is in the end "just another Glock". Truth is it's very own reality. Still I look forward to reading long term reviews and opinions on the pistol in question here.

He's a has been looking for free media attention he hopes will pay off for his tanked career. Best thing is to pass the word about how he feels about gun owners and guns. Don't cater to a hater just use the same media to shut them down.

You have an adjustable rear sight which can be replaced by a better adjustable rear sight on the BH. So unless you want a completely different front sight you'll be fine. If you don't mind spending money a lot of things are possible with fixed front sights. FWIW I like blued guns better than stainless ones.

It depends on what you want to do with it...if its cowboy action style shooting then go with the Vaquero, otherwise I'd recommend the Blackhawk Convertible for its versatility.

Yep. Just make sure to wear your PFD all of the time...you don't want to need it and it be floating downstream w/o you....

FWIW I had a lot of people flip me the bird during my police career...every one of them did so when I was directing traffic, conducting a vehicle stop, working an auto crash or they thought I wasn't watching. that pretty much put told to the caliber of person(s) flipping me off. if you want to be that guy and flip off a police officer then that's on you but I'm going to point something out to you. Does doing so make you a better person? I've arrested people for disorderly conduct and everyone was convicted in a court of law...none of them were for flipping me the bird and every, repeat every one of them were warned to cease and desists or be arrested. As a judge pointed out to one of them "son you were warned if you did a he was going to do b...you didn't listen to him and now your here for me to do c...

OK...Just pretend it's a 45/70 Gov't that shoots buckshot and slugs then...Its all about finding the positive.

Good report SH and much as I was expecting with the decocker tiring into the dissembling process rather than pulling the trigger on a hopefully empty chamber. No it's not necessary but I can understand how someone would think it a promotable safety feature even if it's not.

We as a whole asked Glock for years to produce a slimmer single stack magazine 9mm P and given our knowledge of the Glock product line and magazine wall thickness should have expected the end result. Personally I don't think it turned out too badly but I also don't view it as a significant improvement over the G-26. Wil I buy one? I really don't know, but I'll sure look at one and hope that Glock sells a lot of them.

That officers actions were actually inline with use of force matrices and justified. It doesn't matter whether the offender is rational or irrational, i.e. Mentally ill, he is an active threat. Discussions on how and when to use a patrol car as a blunt weapon aren't new, nor is their use as such. Having the stones and wherewithal to actually know when you've absolutely got to do what the officer in question did and then doing so are what's rare.

Hmm, wouldn't a pistol crossbow be more steampunk appealing? But you do get bonus points for the cool factor

the PPKs is a result of the 1968 GCA and a bit of a hybrid due to that very thing. I had a very poor experience with the one I owned and a couple of others I fired. The were unreliable and due to grip design uncomfortable to shoot in the .380ACP caliber. I've known others though who liked theirs so it's a matter of taste. More modern pocket pistols are available that are less expensive as well as being reliable. Buy one if you find one you like.

I concur on the comment regarding the decocker on a striker fired pistol being unnecessary but not dangerous. The Walter decocker safety commonly seen on the M-9/92FS and other pistols was commonly maligned as unsafe. Why? Some folks thought all of the actions involved in using the darn things in a reverse order to the Colt 1911 safety would get the user into trouble. In the end it was simply a matter of training.
-
Exactly! I'd like to see the cartridge become a bit more tan a 22 Jet also ran because it does look interesting.
-
Yeah. The same thing loads up on my IPad from time to time the last few weeks but not on a PC. Odd what, as the Britts would say.
-
Interesting pistol and I like the aforementioned price but the things still junk yard dog ugly. I'm unmoved by the decocker on a striker fired pistol though and wonder at the reasoning involved therein. Still it's a pistol I'll look at when I see one in a LGS and if I like it one might find its way into a range bag.

If our government ever decides to disarm the populace and civil unrest or worse arises I expect we'll see a lot more than US Gov't troops in place to subjugate our populace. I won't try to predict the future and am suspicious of both Gov't and anti Gov't groups.

Well the defendants means to pay for their own legal defense has a direct affect upon the outcome of the trial. Couple that into past criminal history arrest convictions and predicting the outcome of the case is doable. You can expect to see the credibility of the Troopers who conducted this stop challenged and a smear campaign against them. Still at face value it looks like some good police work and a successful drug interdiction stop.

Yeah, the CS doesn't really have the long term discomfort and lingering effects of OC spray, particularly when the exposure is in a controlled familiarization chamber.
-
Exactly right Dolo, that constant touching and readjustment of ones handgun is a dead give away. I've come to the conclusion that some folks who CCW want to be noticed as much as some who blatantly OC for the attention it generates. Whether you OC or CCW leave it alone and don't touch it until you absolutely have to do so.
