  1. Yes, I do, Glock was the classic example of the camel trying to get it's nose under the tent until the media ran the "invisible gun" stories.
  2. No mob violence of late involving protests of police use of force on black offenders has become racially charged and an opportunity for destructive attention seeking aimed at inducing fear. Its sad and the level of involvement by politicians and affluent celebrities and business people who should know they're being played is distressing. Peaceful protests are conducted by rational, well disciplined people who care. That's not what's happening in this case and you correctly pointed such out. As to why someone with common sense would stick around after a riot starts you should study mob mentality and then think about how you'd get out of the middle of a riot. The correct question to ask yourself is do you place your personal safety above the cause you have chosen to support through active demonstration and or civil disobedience?
  3. If you've not had the opportunity to meet Hickok45 then I recommend you do, he's as nice and personable in person as he is on his videos. According to his latest videos Bud's is providing some degree of sponsorship by providing him with sample guns they later sell. That's good marketing.
  4. Funny cartion GT. I was all about fresh hot coffee while working nights but not so much on doughnuts.
  5. Finally got around to watching it...yep its funny and yep I expect that's pretty much the way we're viewed by some gun makers...still it made me laugh...
  6.   Context can be subjective but being truthful in saying a particular model gun fails to excite you is simply expressing that. Striker fired plastic pistols aren't the tools of machine wonderment such as a Browning High Power, German Lugar or SIG 210, instead they are functional tool like pistols. In looks and handling they tend to blur and become boring, even the newest of the new. Early 20th century Colt & S&W fixed sight revolvers were equally boring prior to the 1960's. They too were looked upon more as everyday tools and were everyday items. Now of course we look upon those old revolvers in wonderment, or at least I do. But what we now have with the Shield and 43 are very lightweight near pocket-sized that are technical marvels and still a bit boring.
  7. I'm all about the truth coming out in this or any other LE related matter which generates public concern or suspicion. The media and agitators will always find anything and everything to say about what happened. You can expect this investigation and outside controlled agitating to be prolonged.
  8. And that's all that matters in this equation, that the end user, who shelled out their own money to buy the pistol like it. A happy end purchaser will buy another gun from the manufacture or recommend the product to others. Its always been that way and I wouldn't have it otherwise.
  9. LOL...
  10. With regards to Bruce Jenner...couldn't care less...with respect to media overexposure, manipulation and fascination of viewers for viewing dysfunctional or artificially pretentious families... that's annoying.
  11.   Concur. I vividly remember the first H&K polymer framed pistols and then along came the G-17. No it wasn't perfect nor are the subsequent iterations but functionality has nothing to do with perfection. Gaston and his company choose to produce the G-43 a bit late in the game which simply put "is what it is". I believe they will sell well enough to be marketable and also believe some people will love everything about them and others despise them. As for myself I am in no hurry to purchase one yet but time will tell.
  12. Not necessarily, most I've encountered who've fled when questioned after the fact simply didn't want to be arrested. In some cases it was simple life style, in others they just liked to run from the police so they could laugh about it later. Most weren't the least bit frightened of the police and were quite derisive of same. Your thoughts that offenders run due to horror stories of police dealings look good in a news story but my own experience has been such reasoning was very rare.
  13. I don't know why the individual in question ran from the police nor all of the particulars involved in the case. There's going to be and investigation into the facts of this case and I'd bet the DOJ will have a nose in it as well. Until then the only side I'm on is determining the truth. I am going to clue you in on something from personal experience though...you can't always tell someone's got a broken back when they're injured. I'll also tell you this...some folks are just plain hardwired to either run from the police or resist arrest every time they get into trouble.
  14. Hmmm. Well I could tell some stories about folks playing around with handcuffs resulting in a 911 phone call for an officer to help get them out of the handcuffs. Of course sometimes they weren't USA pattern cuffs using a standard handcuff key. BTW a sliver of metal used as a shim works fine...if you can reach it or hint...have a standard ink pen in your pocket...
  15. Hmmm. To each there own but if its what you want then more power to you.
  16. That'll work just fine for you.
  17. Dolomite's post pretty much sums up most of how I as a retired LEO feel about LE threads. Litigation pertaining to negative retention or not providing disciplinary histories to prospective employer's have cost many departments a lot of money. It used to be a common practice for problem officers to jump between departments that were more interested in hiring a certified officer that doing complete background checks. Any still practicing this are a lawsuit waiting to happen.
  18. 10mm NM Match? Well that was unexpected. Stil it's a good looking gun, hope it does what you want of it. Congrats.
  19. A tactical shotgun is a shoulder fired/aimed fire weapon, it isn't a point and spray fire hose. For a home defense set up go with a shorter stock, not a pistol grip as its a much safer platform. You'll get better penatration with 00 BS vs. #4 BS but given a choice I'd choose slugs. Go with a weapon mounted light and a cylinder bore barrel no more than 20" long. Additionally invest in a tactical shotgun training course because bird and rabbit SG shooting isn't anything like defensive shooting. Now if your still fixated on using something with a pistol grip then but another handgun and then take a defensive HG course.
  20. LMAO and all to true
  21. Your wife is a keeper that's a awesome birthday present.
  22. While I wouldn't purchase it I wouldn't turn down a free sample but FWIW I wasn't impressed with Fireball and some of the other flavored whiskey or legal moonshine it tried. But I've meet others who loved the stuff so I guess it's personal preference.
  23. Nope the G-43 isn't what I'd call a pocket gun, but folks have been pocket carrying Shields so whatever.
  24. Yeah the 40 S&W in the hands of a competent shot at the right distance will do that, but so will a .357 Magnum or a number of other HG cartridges. Black bears are nuisances but have been killed with 32/20 and 38/40 HG cartridges fired from Winchester and Marlin carbines. I'm thinking your stepson was rather grateful the bear ceased and desisted from further aggressive activity.
  25. It's much thinner then the G-19 which makes it feel significantly different and can impact upon carry comfort. FWIW the G-19 is in a class of its on where I see the G-43 as augmenting, not replacing. In the end its always going to be apples and oranges though, expensive ones though I'd say.
