Super price and a pretty decent gun so if you like it and have the money why not buy it?

And your making an assumption which regardless of what you report is still that...I'm more than certain you've been briefed in on the more pragmatic definition of assumption. There should be a computer box under the drivers seat of that transport van which may or may not prove to be useful and I suspect's already been downloaded. I do believe that Baltimore PD is under scrutiny which it well should be and if found culpable here should be held accountable.

Just got my blood test results better then when I was 25

Diet and increased activity will certainly make a difference to be sure. I completely agree on fast food increasing weight and cholesterol levels. You've really made a significant diet and life style change and are to be commended for it. -
Nice looking gat, really like that trigger guard shape too and concur that I'd also be sorely tempted should I run across one like it in 9mm P.

Man this thread's gone a bit deeper south then I'd expected with some pretty strong based on "media reports". There's a lot that could be said and more that shouldn't but here's what I'm certain of. None of us here know what really happened in Baltimore other than a subject was placed into police custody with injuries and not immediately provided medical treatment. I don't know why that happened because I wasn't there. None of you were either. That subject may or may not have sustained other injuries in a transport van, either self induced or otherwise. The same I/We weren't there applies. Some level of negligence is suspiciously possible but excessive force or civil rights violations? More data's needed. I'm suspicious but that proves nothing.

The Tacoma is a hard truck to better in it's size group but should you be considering new then I'd go with an F-150 and simply keep my foot light on the gas pedal.

Nope. They've had random issues to. But that was a pretty good try! :hat: All humor and such aside all firearms can and will have breakages, regardless of who made them. One of the things we as consumers look for in our firearms is how well warranty repairs are addressed. Custom aftermarket parts have generally been frowned on by firearms manufactures so such generally get removed prior to sending a gun back for service work. Obviously if you don't have the OEM parts any longer that can be a problem. It therefore becomes prudent to advise such and see if its going to be and issue. FWIW I fully expect the OP to receive good customer service from S&W.

Pretty good looking rig

An inexpensive bolt action 7.62x39 isn't a bad ideal and FWIW I've been casually keeping an eye out for one but not been in any hurry. As to exchanging barrels, well no, if it were an H&R Handy Rifle then maybe so but with a bolt gun I'd just go with two rifles. One of my regrets was not having either the practical experience level and foresight to have snagged a Remington 788 in 30-30 as it a cast bullet shooter/reloaders delight. In many ways I view the Savage set up in 7.62x39 as potentially versatile.

I've had a lot of experience with the Glock product line and found variances in trigger feel but never had undue concern about such. I really don't expect the 43 to be any different and the one I handled had an OK trigger. I'd not spend time trying to fathom out why a handling only sample that's been dry fired thousands of times felt different from a later production fully functional 43.

MIM part breakages aren't uncommon so I wouldn't fret over that one as to the accuracy issues that should prove interesting. You might very well end up with a new barrel. As to the Apex parts, that'll depend on S&W and how it affects warranty repair but my suspicion is they'll be removed and returned with the pistol.

Yeah, it will and a sad state of business it its too....

For those unfamiliar with internal investigations of police or for that matter any public employee... http://www.garrityrights.org/garrity-warnings.html The way it's supposed to work is if your interviewed you answer and if actionable information sustains disciplinary action or determines same it can be used. It's not admissible in court for criminal prosecution but the Fed's will use it where they can. A prudent IA Investigator will move very carefully in handling an officer facing criminal charges. This is where you see a State Law Enforcement Agency such as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation requested to conduct the investigation.

That happens a lot in differing lot numbers or production runs and is why you handle several examples to find the best trigger.
-
Maybe, but a LGS recently sold a slightly used one for well under $350.00. I'd think with the release of the 43 one could negotiate a better price for the .380 ACP.

Ten days? We had to submit Use of Force Reports and any required Internal Reports (which were also subject to Discovery Hearings) and all other Incident Reports before the end of shift. The rare exception being if you'd been injured in the incident and sent to the emergency room for treatment and were sent home afterwards. Of course come the next day that paperwork was expected and a prudent officer had filled it out to either be picked up by a supervisor or turned in the next day at work.

And again, reports such as this generate additional interest and recommendations which promote further interest and sales. I pay far more attention to what end purchasers and users say then to "professional gun reviewers", it doesn't qualify as scientific methodology but so what?

Concur on the older, pre move Para's being good pistol's, I just never wanted one bad enough to buy one and don't figure I missed anything.

I owned one some years back and it was both accurate and reliable, it also beat my trigger finger and knuckle bloody due to its terribly small trigger guard. I traded it for an LC9 which was slightly nicer in finish and had a larger trigger guard but I didn't keep it either. The bottom line is the gun has to fit your hand and suit your needs. If it does then you will be happy with the acquisition, I hope that this is exactly the case with you and your PF9.

Insurance Companies and Federal Grants will pay some of the weight which of course comes back on taxpayers and rate payers. Its not fair but life isn't fair either. People will most certainly sue the City Gov't and name the Mayor, all of which will cost additional monies. I never expected the NG to be called out until after the first night of rioting, politicians can and will say they didn't know it'd be that bad. Call them liars all you like but they'll only look at you and smile.

All to true. Social Progressivism continually proves itself to be oppressive socialism which is corrosively destructive and intent on creating its own truth. What it actually is, quite disturbingly is racism set lose upon a populace intent upon ignoring what's happening around it. Social Engineering at its finest only with a different set of players.

Hmmm. A high rise OWB on a full sized 1911 paired with a proper gun belt's more comfortable but an IWB is just a bit more concealable in warm weather. Regardless if you choose leather I recommend you stay with horsehide. I'm going to recommend one of the best buys for the money which just happens to be an IWB hybrid rig you can put together yourself and save some money in doing so. Old Faithful Holsters. I also like Kramer Holster's.

True but I always treated and later ensured the officers I supervised treated the most belligerent offenders as professionally as possible and politely as they would allow. Most of the time that paid off either in calming the offender, later dealings with that individual or others who witnessed same. Many times people confuse very direct and brisk action or directions from police officers as abusive not understanding they've simply not been humored or offered differential treatment. Don't try to read what isn't there into what you don't understand and don't expect immediate gratification.

Yeah. It hadn't escaped my attention...
