  1. I don't care for its looks and probably won't even consider buying one but I'd love to see Big Green get it's game back.
  2. Hey! Great to read your getting your TN HCP! It always makes me feel better to know someone's gone through the time, trouble and expense to do so. More and more women are doing so which is even better.
  3. Nope, but I sure hope Remington got their stuff together on the R51 this time around. I would love to see a success this time.
  4. Enjoyed reading this story.
  5. Sparkly isn't it?
  6. Great video, gifted shooter who's a real showman as well...but aside from it's novelty aspect the AF2011 is a purposeless and silly pistol. Still and all anyone who has the means and wherewithal not to mention to desire one should probably do so. I think it'll be a collectable gun a few years down the road from now/
  7. Marion Michael Morrison AKA by his pet dog Duke's monicker. Either you liked him or you didn't, I don't think he ever lost sleep over it but he sure figured out how to make a good living and live large while doing so. Overall an interesting fellow well worth the time investment of watching his old movies and reading about him.
  8. PF9, LC9, LCP, SR22, LC9s for sure.
  9. Your best option is to just shoot the ground hog and bury it after all its not as if they're an endangered species is it?
  10. Dead or unavailable link
  11. S&W & other's have capitalized on the external safety aspect in marketing as making the pistol safer for the end user. Part of it's and instructional mindset, some carries over from military and law enforcement contracts. I see it as a non issue for a competently trained and self aware shooter who practices with his/her carry guns. FWIW JM presented a well thought out video on OC vs. CC that might influence some fence sitters or poorly reasoned HCP holders. It won't do much for the folks in the OC but unloaded cities/states who seem more interested in confrontational negative attention and fishing for law suits.
  12. Oh well. What's life without a little disaster every once in a while? Observationally I'm thinking your son just learned in practical school of hard knocks what not to do when cutting the lawn. Of course the lesson's on your dime but no ones hurt so its a win.  If you haven't done so have your son help you drain the gas tank and pull the mower blades. Put the tools in his hands and talk him through it, he'll be fine. Replace the blades, level the deck and gas the mower up. Then let him have the pleasure of reseeding and spreading hay on the scalped patches. The next time the yard needs mowing set the deck at its highest, walk the yard with him and put him on the mower. Tell him how you want the yard cut, explain he's to leave the deck and throttle alone and send him on his way. Don't interfere or stop him unless it's a safety issue. Yep, you just raised a new grass cutter.
  13. Book's a bit pricey for the pages but hope your friend sells enough copies to make it worth his time investment. My names been in print a few times, just never as a fictional character in novella.
  14. A 100 yard range isn't necessary, you can do it on a 25 year range with a proportionally reduced size target. Most likely a smallish grapefruit is going to be about the right size.
  15. Yep. As to the 442 you'd have seen an improvement in shooting comfort in it as well with the HTG or like product. When we choose to carry a very compact picket pistol or revolver it's more about the concealment then the shooter comfort. But compromises are possible in shopping for pants with larger deeper pockets or going with an IWBH, or a belt slide holster.
  16. The NRA and EAA really soured me on belonging to either one of them.
  17. They probably hope you'll fill it out and return it so they can count on you for contributions every time they want money. Fishing for money
  18. Turned out pretty good.
  19. Yeah. The thrill is gone and Lucille's an orphan. But Mrs. M cut's to the end of the line and goes to the pool instead. That's what's known as having your priorities well grounded.  :D
  20. What's really bazaar with state and federal data bases is they don't always cross populate so one agency wanting your SSN for ID or tax purposes can only get it my asking you. Its all about their connivance and's become and institutional mind set. It gets really interesting when you call them out on it or explain the aren't supposed to photo copy your DL either. While not necessarily government institutions hospitals are the worst on this, followed by Doctor's offices. Getting back to the original question a lot of the forms you are requested to fill out are made from a template or by some contractor who just think's the SSN should be there because its a legal ID, which legally it isn't. Odd isn't it.
  21. Read about it, heard about it and seen it first hand confirming my belief that some peoples only true purpose in life is to make a public ass out of themselves for the petty purpose of pissing other people off.
  22. He was a really nice fellow, I watched him interacting with other people and he was a genuine gentleman.
  23. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/224681/meprolight-tru-dot-front-sight-s-and-w-j-frame-1-7-8-barrel-steel-blue-tritium-green?cm_vc=ProductFinding   If this one won't do it then find a front sight blank, file to fit and put a brass or white front bead for a shotgun on its rear facing side. For relatively simple "fit to fit" front sight blades simple hand tool skills and a critical eye will get you by. Beyond that it get's interesting and a dovetail cut  for a slide in front sight starts becoming more viable. Good luck.
  24. From what the OP has said without knowing where the original fence kit used came from or if its still available he has a problem. Yes a long enough rounded rail can be fitted but he would prefer a drop in part. I can't fault him for that but can say a sawzall works faster then an adze or chisel.
  25. At this stage I'd try to contact the people who manufacture the front sight your interested in and tell them what you want to do. I'd also provide a copy of the dialog from S&W. You can also inquire as to who they'd recommend as best capable of installing the front sight if they still have one available. Now if all this is a bust you might have to go with a different sight from someone else.
