You did some really nice stock refinishing on your M-44, it turned out really well. I suspect it'll shoot just fine but if you do end up shimming the barrel I don't recommend rubber tubing, I always used a piece od copper.

Good price but overall Q.C. leaves me skeptical on the company in question. The early models weren't so good, later models seem to follow a mix of good and bad. FWIW I do know people who've had satisfactory results and were pleased at finding a pistol they could afford.

Don't lose your gun rights in a divorce
TNWNGR replied to Dustbuster's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
An OP originates through a Judge. What your more likely to encounter after arrest for domestic assault is a conditional order of release COR. It's going to explicitly prohibit any form of contact and if the victim lives at the same address as the owner prohibit the assailant from returning home. Additionally no guns, weapons, alcohol or drugs will be allowed. If you violate the terms of release and are rear rested you'll spend another 12 hours in jail and make a higher bond. The COR can also be used for other domestic related offenses. -
Arguably one of the more absurd example of footwear and I can't determine if those whatzits are real or photoshopped.

The M-44 is the only other military carbine that jars my eye teeth as much as a No.5 Jungle Carbine does but it does hold a better target grouping the the JC.

if it were simply a cracked LCD with everything else fully functional I'd consider having it repaired. Yours doesn't sound that simple and I suspect repair cost is going to be close enough to replacement cost to justify the extra expense. It sucks but unless you can do the work yourself the the labor cost is going to surprise you.

The West System recommendation is the route I'd take and I reaffirm you want all of the air bubbles removed from between the laminated surfaces. Even with this though I believe you should seriously consider riveting between the exposed two metal surfaces of the two metal sheets affixed to the plywood. This provides structural rigidity and minimizes delamination, take a look at some commercial trailers. You'll find exposed rivets and filled rivets.

What an amazing story and an interesting page out of history.

Recurrent attempts, an improvement nonetheless but still another attempt at improved mobility and increased visibility. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Lackner_HZ-1_Aerocycle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams_X-Jet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiller_VZ-1_Pawnee

Good to hear you got your RMR back but aside from its having been refurbished the actual point of failure seems to still be an unknown. Did they provide you any additional information on what failed?

I don't recommend taking the thread down, you've fished for information insight and learned a bit, sit back and watch to learn more. I took your initial post more as asking for information and potential points of contact, not a direct request for a member to invite you over to shoot. For now just go to ranges and take some instructional courses. If you want to shoot on farmland or such you need to pay it forward and meet farmers or property owners. A few weekends spent brush bucking or on property maintenance goes a long way towards developing trust. If you want to meet people with rural property ask around your church and develop community relationships.

TN Anti-Gun State Rep Indicted On Federal Charges
TNWNGR replied to Oh Shoot's topic in General Chat
No, don't include someone arrested for malfeasance in the #blacklives matter equation because the jerk wad in question isn't a violent street criminal running afoul of the police and consequences of assaulting them or an armed citizen. Now as to how I'd like to perceive #blacklives matter that'd be in black on black crimes of violence and provable abuse of force actions. -
TN Anti-Gun State Rep Indicted On Federal Charges

Hmm. Looks like one rat rolled on another rat. What's most curious though is the length of time involved in the investigation. I'm wondering if the Feds were hoping to catch bigger fish or just going for a larger bag limit? FWIW I don't expect any significant punishment equalling the significance of the fraud involved. Additionally the IRS has put paid to a lot of folks who thought they were going to beat the system. -
I concur on your assessment of the G-17/19 frame size assessments Dolo. I neither love nor hate the Glock platforms in that size configuration but I conceed to their utility. I will eventually purchase a 4th gen G-19 and slightly contour the frame under the trigger guard. Done correctly this doesn't detract the guns appearance but improves its feel and pointability. I don't fault the fellows who heavily modify their Glock frames but I prefer a more subtle approach. You can do the same thing with your G-17 and will immediately notice a pronounced improvement..

If you put the foam in a freezer for a couple of hours or so it's a tad bit easier to cut with a very sharp knife. I've used a serrated edge on some pieces where short cuts were involved. The bottom line is pre plan, pre measure and work slowly but surely on each piece. -
You did exactly what you should have done and have the correct information. The officer correctly kept his comments on the non speculative side in only noting it was a bit weird. That works out well in court if a bunch of stuff turns up and the witness is limited in case information.

Nice gun, big but real nice, feels good in hand with good balance, if you want one then go ahead it won't give you any troubles.

Yeah, I've got some of my own stories about mentally ill people who should have never been released from a mentall health hospital. Many of these stories involve family member or neighbors whose bodies I had to see or help provide treatment to the ones stil alive. There are some folks who'll never be right and always either a direct threat or on the verge of being a threat. These are the ones who need to stay in a treatment center. Sometimes though a family know that a family member has crossed over that edge of sanity and that police should be called. But they don't call, they rationalize it'll be ok or that the family member wil get better.

I walked around the SR-71 you mentioned prior to 9-11 while watching my step son graduate from Air Force Basic. It was amazing, many of the SR-71's now on static display in museums were cut up, then pieced back together forevermore rendered flightless. But then I doubt anyone will ever see another SR-71 ever take flight again.

http://wtop.com/national/2015/06/gunman-feared-blacks-were-taking-over-the-world/ And not unexpectedly the victims family members have forgiven the murderer, advised him to confess and repent. In so doing he's been advised he'll be OK. Whenever you read about hate or are frustrated by race baiter agitating for further gain witnessing the faith and forgiveness of those with greatest loss is humbling.

Oh! Now I get it this is a Browning BAR that's been turned into a more tactically oriented platform. That seems like a fairly complex disassembly/reassembly procedure but I'm sure once you've done it a couple of times its a breeze.

Sweet! High quality gun bling! Hadn't hear of this particular rifle but it sure looks like it'll be a fun shooter.

Nice. I've viewed that site before and its incredible. One of the rings would be a nice thing to own but not necessarily to wear on a daily basis. If you have a hand injury where its either cut off the ring to save the finger or finger to save the hand things get real serious.
