  1. It's absolutely that simple, if the laptops on and someone calls her on Skype it has a distinctive alert tone. Once you've heard it you'll never forget it. If she want's to call someone all she to do is click on their icon in her Skype contacts then once it opens hit the phone icon.
  2. If you can use an older laptop with an anti-theft cable and install Skype on it then assuming the facility has a WIFI router you'll have a great set up. If they don't but she has a smartphone then you can use it for a mobile hotspot. It's going to depend on the capabilities of who is using it. On a smartphone I prefer FaceTime but with a PC or laptop I prefer Skype.
  3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Husqvarna_Vapenfabriks_Aktiebolag They made some really nice commercial 96 and 98 Mauser rifles in addition to shotguns and limited handguns. They also made a contract variant of the German G-3. I've viewed and handled some Husqvarna bolt action rifles and they were beautiful.
  4. That the two individuals in question pulled an idiotic stunt seems to be a universal opinion. I agree that both are fortunate not to have been shot and suspect this is going to be a very expensive object lesson for them. Interestingly the younger of the two was outside of the police station mentioned filming it and news reporters filming their news story of the incident. Totally absurd. Now does anyone know what the heck an AP-14 is? I'm guessing it's some type of AK clone or something.
  5. Believe it or not there's actually people hating on her for not making a more public display of protest and staying true to the protesters cause. After last years half time show I thought this one was not only a better show but had more of an I love my country motif to it.
  6. She conveyed her message but kept it at a palatable level. Woody Guthrie's protest song, an out take of the Pledge of Allegiance and some of her own music out takes. I can deal with that because it was part of who she is and she didn't show her ass rubbing it in everyone's face. That's a good link you posted and I'd read it earlier.
  7. Yes it was a group class taught by a blacksmith at his farm in the Dickson County area. We went over some terminology and tools then were shown some techniques. Everyone made a simple wall hook and learned a lot in the process. I'm going back for an introductory knife making class and will probably take his Intermediate and advanced classes. Theses aren't difficult classes as they only show you enough to get off to a good start and understand what's happening in videos and informational books. Anyone interested shoot me a PM and I'll provide a link. Otherwise google blacksmithing classes in TN or the state you live in. This is a perfect husband and wife, father and son or daughter experience too by the way so do give it a try.
  8. She did do an excellent half time show, very impressive, even better she kept the political statements very subtle and inoffensive. My opinion of her has really improved over the last couple of years and her Super Bowl performance showcased her talents. It's just too bad the Falcon's ran out of gas in the end.
  9. I'm probably going to miss the game or only catch part of it because I'm taking a beginners blacksmithing course. Besides I agree with GT all of the players who've done the sitting or kneeling during the National Anthem soured my opinion of professional football.
  10. Yeah and firing a 45/70 hunting round out of a Handy Rifle will really get your attention to. I shot quite a lot of 45/70 rounds through a Ruger #1 and a Browning 1885 Hi Wall Single Shot rifle that was actually Made in Japan. Neither of them got your attention as much as an H&R Handy Rifle in 45/70 did. I'm curious to see if the Henry Rifle will be more like the Ruger in ergonomics.
  11. It's designed and engineered to not require the grease fittings in order to save on manufacturing expenses. Once its worn to the point of replacement then its replaced which results in factory parts replacement and billable parts and labor to the customer. The reality is that even with grease fittings drivetrain parts still wear out.
  12. If your set up to do it I'd go ahead and replace the U joints but insofar as greasing them I believe that there's a needle valve adapter for your grease gun to do that with. But then again I've known folks who installed zerk fittings themselves.
  13. Have you priced a Ruger #1 lately? When I was messing with them back in the late '70's and early '80's I thought they were pretty darned expensive as well. So as to the Henry's, if the quality and accuracy are good then the listed prices are actually pretty reasonable. But as gun fanciers we do get to have our own opinions on products and prices.
  14. I suspect this fellow's using a similar set up to what your planning on using and his project turned out alright. All of the cerakote I've seen sprayed was via an airbrush so it's nice to see this set up work. As to the 4oz bottle being enough for the job I don't know for sure but very much suspect that it is.
  15. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/shopping_cart.php/sort/7a The above link shows a Bud's price for a NIB pistol. Beyond that the Gun Broker link is here http://www.gunbroker.com/Semi-Auto-Pistols/BI.aspx?mfg=1000038 Anything else your going to find is subjective so all your going to come up with is a ball park price.
  16. The actor Mike Connors has passed away at the age of 91. He had a pretty good run.
  17. The Mosin carbines are right thumpers indeed and I'd concur they feel like there's more recoil then the FR-8. If you haven't ever shot one get someone to let you run some rounds through an original No. 5 Enfield "Jungle Carbine" from a bench. I think its a little bit more of a thumper on the receiving end then the M-44 Mosin-Nagant.
  18. Do yourself a favor and either use a slip on recoil pad or a vest/jacket with one on the shooting shoulder. Baring that slip a partially filled sandbag between the but plate and your shoulder. My FR-8 isn't as uncomfortable to shoot as a No.5 Enfield but it's still pretty sharpish.
  19. Good story and well done. I'm all for certain non violent felony felon's having their firearms rights restored after their full sentence to include probation has been served without incident. It comes down to a case by case bases.
  20. Concur on the Justin's and I also used to wear Red Wings. Pretty much any Co-OpI've been in lately carried Justin Boots. https://www.justinboots.com/footwear/men_styles_shop-all-mens-boots
  21. Both above comment pretty much mirror my own opinion. Any votes the NRA may have influenced were far overshadowed by discontent towards the incumbent and prospects of the same or worse. The DNP and RNP should be painfully aware by now of how discontented voters were and misinformed the polls left them.
  22. Yeah, the entire liberal and mainstream media meltdowns been a constant source of puzzlement to me. I don't think that any of them comprehend how much their histrionics and acquisitions aided Trump's successful election. Worse still try to explain to any of them that if the man doesn't do good during his first two years he's vulnerable to a strong DNP candidate...if they can find one after crapping all over everyone. Good video...even if it makes me realize some of the folks having the meltdowns were probably off plumb of level all along.
  23. This topic came up a short time ago but now I'm the one looking for a new chainsaw and wanted to see if there's anything really new and or better I should be considering. At this point I'm leaning towards a Husqvarna 445 Series 45.7-cc 2-Cycle 18-in Gas Chainsaw because its mostly going to be used for limbing and small tree removal. I've run 20" bar and larger Stilh chainsaws in the past when heating with firewood so I'm familiar with that brand. As to the Jonserred saws I've no personal experience but their reviews aren't noticeably better. Oh yeah, I've had terrible results and experience with Poulan chainsaws and none with Echo.
  24. Some things you learn over time not to be tempted into opening and afterwards are quit relieved that you didn't.
