But you know you need a good quality air gun to protect the chickens from pests with right? Really now...think of the chickens! Well maybe not...LOL.... But seriously a good air rifle is fun, will improve your shooting skills and can be used to teach others to shoot with as well.

Survey says: 35 percent of Americans would expatriate
TNWNGR replied to Grand Torino's topic in General Chat
Well the whiskey rebellion started the big government ball then Mr. Lincoln stirred the pot a good bit, Mr. Wilson and F.D. Roosevelt had their turn at meddling too. Probably the most damming at setting up a disruptive social change government that has crippled generations of predominantly blacks was LBJ. I'd be interested in knowing what history says about the current POTUS fourth or fifty years from now. -
Interesting. I recall reading something about him being a singer but didn't know he was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers.

Ex-CNN Host's Husband Involved in Shoot-Out At Motel 6
TNWNGR replied to waynesan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yep. I remember her stint at CNN, she was a smart, savvy news reader who looked and sounded great. She sure has an interesting backstory too, I wonder if she was perceived as to long in the tooth for network news or wasn't considered liberal enough. -

Nothing new. Expats have been going to South American and Caribbean countries in droves for the last several decades. Most are retirees others are on the lam for civil issues that won't get them extradited. These are some places I'd dearly love to visit but live in? No. Worse the drug cartel violence in Mexico and corruption in Mexico make it unsafe. Belize, is somewhat better but still has issues. Costa Rica is rapidly ceasing to be an inexpensive vacation retreat for shared condo ownership. Australia & New Zeeland have gone total socialist and social justice change oriented. -
Don't fixate on a well as a supplemental water source, people got by fine with cisterns and rain barrels. There's all kinds of water storage systems available now that'll only cost a fraction of having a well dug.

A two hour car drive in order to make a FTF gun transaction is actually a four hour car drive so depending on the vehicle your driving that's a tank of gas or slightly more. Then there's wear and tear on the vehicle, at least one meal and your own time investment. By this point you've at best reached parity on a reputable LGS transaction. In reality though your probably in the red on the deal so your only trying to fool yourself. But if the purpose of the trip was combining a rode trip for a long recreational drive then you've done so. If it was to purchase a gun w/o a paper trail to you then that's debatable.

SKS. It might be heavy but you've got the equivalent, or near enough, to a 30/30 hunting rifle in a semi auto rifle platform with ready availability of ammunition. So you can effectively protect yourself and others as well as hunt game for food with it as well. I have a lot of confidence in a 9mmP SMG or SA Carbine as a PDW but it has limitations. The Red Army and German Army found this out first hand during WWII. Now if your really going to get technical on weight and commonalty of calibers you should look at the .357 Magnum or .22WMR. Me? I'd rather have a decent rifle and handgun in readily available calibers neither of which need to be the same.

Reactionary response exasperated by an adrenalin dump and from reading the article transitioning from a less lethal to lethal force response is my guess.

At a guess it was either a suicide by cop action or the poor son of a gun was running on some non prescription narcotics. FWIW though there are people out there who carry and have used dummy guns in robberies and other crimes. As near as I can tell they think having what looks like a real gun will intimidate the victim or get the perpetrator out of trouble. In the end its often a Darwinian Solution.
-
Yeah, it can happen that quickly, if your too close you can try to disarm or like the supervisor in the video pull the subject to get the gun out of alignment then shove them away from you creating distance. Makes me wonder at the suspects background, mental state and toxicity reports.

It is a ruthlessly evil disease, even more so in its later stages when the constant crying begins. Do the best you can and provide the best care you can as well. Utilize home health care whenever possible and if necessary utilize a well researched nursing home where you can easily visit.

100% True. I frequently concealed and carried on numerous occasions a 4" barrel K frame S&W, then later a Colt 1911GM. The Glock 17/22 was simply a wider but lighter Commander with the 19/23 absolutely the most comfortable. But I found the shorter 26/27 weren't as comfortable in an IWB carry. It's all about body build, wardrobe, belt and holster.
-
SH I'm not dinging your opinion on cutting up a Glock frame and such but you do know that cutting of grips and frames isn't a new thing. There was the "Fitz Special"' , converting square butt S&W grip frames into round butt frames, 1911 frame mods bobbed hammers and more. With the exception of replacing a bobbed hammer all of these mods are irreversible.

Most Android tablets, android cell phones and Chrome Books already use some form of Linux. I'm already looking for a new lapto on sale to just run Linux on.

The Ruger American will provide hours of recreational marksmanship skills training but the Tula will make you feel good whenever you shoot it. I call both a win win. Congrats.
-
Well my 77/22 was purchased a long time ago so I can't comment on todays prices but will say it has excellent balance and accuracy as well as a big rifle feel to it. What I felt the rifle did, as well as what its marketing alluded to, was provide me with a less expensive means of field rifle practice.
-
Nope, don't have a Ruger American but do have an early model 77/22 which I really like.
-
LOL the recoil pad you used isn't a permanent add on so unless it doesn't feel good when your shooting why worry? Refinishing the stock only enhanced the looks of a milsurp rifle that isn't all that rare so that's a non issue. Just take that little stomper out, shoot it and have a good time.

I like listening to folks like that yelling at the car ahead of them making a complicated production out of a simple food order. All the time yelling I'm hongry, then they pull up and do the same messed up ordering, auguring with the order taker and checking all of the food in the order before pulling forward. It's pure social entertainment at its finest.
-
Hmm. Almost an overweight Pug there isn't it? LOL. Still, not a bad looking gun for a fire snorting compact pistol. Should do just fine once you break it in. Congrats.
-
Boats and airplanes are bottomless money pits which need to be used a lot to even remotely justify their expense. but an owner who actually uses their boat are airplane is a very happy person.

I'm thinking that size wise the XDM is larger then the PX4 Compact with the later being slightly wider IIRC. W/O doubt the SA pistol would have a better feeling trigger and the more front heavy feel be more comfortable under recoil. The transition from DA first shot to SA follow up shots is disconcerting for a newer shooter which would also make the XDM feel better. But FWIW the DA/SA is very doable with a bit of training and determined practice. It's even better in a well broken in pistol which is when the 92FS really comes into its on. The ergonomics are better on the PX4 but it's action is a near carry over. Just_Don made an excellent first post with his observations.
