  1. He didn't keep them hidden as they were public knowledge, what happened was a change in the classification and rule sets allowing him to possess the flack 88 and tank. By all accounts neither both guns were deactivated and the tank was a post war completion he'd purchased from the UK. Yes, he had it transported to his home.

    Glock 43

Yeah. The Glock clones trifecta and KT clones. Then there's the 22 RF's. But on the plus side the aforementioned are fairly priced good quality pistols.
  3. Actually aside from the bogus name this was one of the common officer survival themes early on in my career. Younger guys tended to be more interested in being noticed then keeping a low profile. Social Media has gotten more people in trouble then can be believed possible. In actuality hackers, criminals and Intel groups benefit more from social media then JQP.

Oh but that's an easy fix. Give the Shield to your wife, then you get to replace it.
  5. It's not all that unusual.
  6. In respect to the comments attributed to a Federal Agent. Municipal Law Enforcements generally more immediate with investigations done on the fly and on scene. It's pretty apparent the officers in question in this shooting were initially investigating what appears to have been a misdemeanor theft call. It could have resulted in little more than a citation, IOW no one going to jail. I handled a bunch of like investigations in the past. The suspect in this one decided to do something stupid. Now as to the how and why of the female shooting when the suspect was down already. Its pretty hard to stop a reactionary cycle once its kicked in and everyone has differing levels of neurological chemistry to sort through once in a fight/flight cycle. So no, I don't have any criticism towards either officer. FWIW I never had an FBI Agent ever make a negative observation in my presence of anything another officer had done. Overall they were pretty closed mouthed.

    Glock 43

Glad you like the LC9s so much but I don't care for it and that's the way it is with particular guns, some folks love a particular gun others don't. Initial cost of a handgun can be deceptive unless you factor in its anticipated service life and how well it holds its value over time. As to the typical thickness, the G43's slide and grip are narrower then the G-26's which depending on the end purchaser can be the deciding factor.
  8. I'm betting that most people buying parts kits just rat hole them somewhere for another day. Of those who do complete them I suspect the overwelming majority are semi auto only.

    Glock 43

So far what I'm seeing and hearing from others is the 43 is doing pretty good overall. It's not per say a pocket gun but can go that route with the right pants pocket set up. Here are the pluses I've determined: it's fairly ergonomic with enough of a grip angle to feel good in hand. Aftermarket sights and accessories are available and so are factory magazines. It will handle as much +p ammo as your hand can comfortable shoot through said gun. I've been on the fence about the 43 or the Shield and both have + & - that are more subjective then inherent so at the end of the first production year I'll start looking for a 43.
  10. Not sure it'd have made a lot of difference because I suspect the recoil would have resulted in a depressed skull fracture
  11. None of the three look very appealing but if I were a betting man I'd lean towards the Beretta being selected. Beretta USA has an awful lot of political clout, most likely enough to make a difference. And as to the Beretta looking like a Walther, well just what was the M92 based off of?
  12. Can't we all just get along???? Bottom line though bottom feeders gotta try and make themselves feel important handing behind a keypad. Doesn't matter none in the end because their still peckerwoods.....
  13. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Absolutely correct! I won't say its not possible because people I wouldn't think have the capabilities to critical fitting or gun repair can do credible work.
  14. bersaguy, your question is best answered by what's on your birth certificate for reporting purposes. I'm not certain of the percentage factor but if your Mother has/had the proper paperwork you might be eligible for free fishing licenses. Additionally there are excellent scholarships opportunities.
  15. Like many other wild animals skunk's are known to carry rabies so I don't recommend feeding them or creating a habitat which invites  them to stay around. You really don't want them on your property when their breeding cycle kicks in either. But for all of their ability to stink things up they're a beautiful species.
  16. Good quality pistols and good value for the dollar and if your all about all metal pistols are hard to beat.
  17. Look's like a good promotional marketing sales event, might have to stop by and check things out.
  18. There's a vibrant and growing segment of BlackAmerican's who're fed up with the downward spiral of our country. What they are saying and how they are saying it should humble every one of us and make us strive to be as articulate and fearless.
  19. Of course you realize a great many Russians can make the craziest redneck peckerwood you ever met look like he's almost normal don't you? I can hear it now..."Hey Ivan watch this!"....

If your thinking about a SA pistol instead I recommend the XDs instead of the XD MOD2.
  22. I don't like having un-vetted armed people in my house or being in another house as a guest and encounter the same circumstances. Many years spent in police work taught me that suspicion was prudent to personal safety. If I invite you into my house I've already found out a bit about you and either been told you have a HCP or asked you if you do. I will recropricate in such informational exchanges and ensure you know I routinely carry a concealed handgun. If alcohol is being served or consumed in your home either I won't attend the get together or will simply leave my handgun in my homes gun safe. I expect you to either do the same or request I secure it in my gun safe for you to retrieve the next day. I've seen first hand incidents of what happens at parties where drinking and guns are brought together and massive group think (or lack thereof) stupidity take place. Yes I'm hard nosed and can be rude as heck about this stuff.

Concur. The only negatives are scarcity and cost. It falls into that category of pistol that you own and show with pride, shoot with at the range but recognize will be difficult to replace. IOW if you use it for your carry gun you need to know its going to get beat to hell and if used in a lethal force incident be seized and pick up additional wear and tear in an evidence room.
  24. The HPA 9mm carbines the best bang for the buck even though it's not the best looking of available carbines. I've looked at the Berettal Carbine and like and like the Just Arms one too. Yeah 10 round mags are a bummer but maybe someone will finally decide to market a reliable 15 or 20 round mag.
