I came too close to shooting a knucklehead who ran outside of his apartment with gun in hand to catch a possible burglar. Everyone else was looking for the burglar when knucklehead comes walking up with a raised gun. Idiot thought it was funny seeing how pissed off I was, never understood I was halfway through the trigger pull stroke on my revolver. Over 20 years ago and remember it way to well.

We're going to hear and read everything about this murderer that the media can shake loose of the nearest bubba. Then we're going to read or hear leaked insider information that might or might not be factual. And then at the end of a lengthy investigation we'll be told what happened with a lot of unknowns thrown into the mix. Anything we speculate about here is just that..speculation.

Oh it'll be touched when our Prezz decides to give it a go. But more interesting is the U.S. Attorney calling this shooting an act of domestic terrorism, the FBI playing it close to the vest and The POTUS doing his regular "act of an isolated and loan individual" sound bite.

Perhaps, but then a sizable portion of the white population is liberal, voted for BHO and don't have the slightest ideal about what's going on. But then few people know that the flag and flag pole taken down at the SC capital wasn't flying over the capital building. It was flying over a Confederate War Memorial. I guess since Memphis decided to dig up NBF and his wife the next step is tear up all oh the Confederate Memorials. After all demands are ongoing that Stone Mtn be defaced. The bottom line is this is al about outrageous demands aimed at generating influence and control. The more gains the more demands.

Well The Tennessean's saying the shooter was a 2012 Engineering Graduate from UTC. Looks like he was still living with his family. Educated here, radicalized either online or ???

Tip of the iceberg fellows, I'm sure more will talk up trying and get caught but some will find a way to act out and kill people. What I'm kind of hoping is one of these terrorist(s) try this where a bunch of folks are legally carrying concealed weapons. If said folks have a modicum of training and grit things would be interesting.

True and had already thought that as well but some misdemeanor convictions will loose any seized guns involved in the equation. A domestic assault arrest is one example and a diversion isn't a guarantee you'll see seized guns again. To many unknowns here and much here is suspect.

Well many things are possible but in thirty plus year in law enforcement and court related positions this doesn't sound right. It's entirely possible your friend either misunderstood what was said or has become confused through frustration.

The person in question here will need an attorney to petition the court for the firearms to be released to either said attorney for sale or in exchange for legal services. It is also entirely possible this is all pointless because if this person was placed on probation then some form of conviction was rendered against them. My suspicions are the firearms and such have either been destroyed, sold at auction or traded in exchange for police equipment. I'm also going to say that without the court papers and police reports this things a crap shoot as to what really happened. Glenn's friend need to have an attorney review this stuff.

I worked a part time job in a friends gun store, long since closed now, were we occasionally used Davidson's and known other gun shops do the same. As best I recall they were ok, not the best prices but good service and turn around time.

Doesn't surprise me, most of the counterfeit currency complaints I responded to had Caucasian women passing the money. Periodically someone would try to pass really bad counterfeits bills as described here. Occasionally one that should have been caught would end up in the cash drawer, deposited at the bank and be reported.

Historically we've destroyed ourselves before and eventually gotten back on our feet so who can say what will or won't happen. Remember it really doesn't take much to destroy a civilization but as a species it would need to be far more catastrophic.

So Pluto's to large to be considered a planetoid and to small to be classified as a planet but calling it a minor planet won't wash either making it a dwarf planet? Rubbish. I hope lots of great images and data are published and consider it a worthwhile use of taxpayer money.

Might be or more likely a history of mental illness exasperated by non prescription pharmaceuticals. But I've got to tell you I've encountered deranged people who wouldn't touch any meds, prescription or otherwise.

Interesting video, it really is but...yawn, did anyone think the gun wasn't a. going to fail...or...b. not know that it was exceeding its design element? But it was entertaining nonetheless.

What's the best 22 Hornet & it's Hunting Applications?
TNWNGR replied to Sidewinder's topic in Long Guns
Given you already have T/C barrels in .22 Hornet your already on the upside of the acquisition equation in the economical .22 Hornet cartridge. Should you be tempted to purchase more expensive bolt action or single shot rifles you'll be in a hobbyist reloader category as a .223 rifle will be more versatile and cost effective. YMMV. Now as to the T/C rifle barrel's effective range...a good barrel and scope set up with the right loading in null wind conditions should be GTG in the near 200 yard range. Just remember it's already losing velocity so think more along the 150 and a bit beyond yard range for varmint hunting. You'll actually get the most enjoyment with the T/C set up in handgun configuration with the pistol barrel and a good scope. It's comfortable to shoot w/o the muzzle blast and fireball of a .223 in a pistol barrel. And BTW you correctly identified why the K-Hornet was a dud as well as why the Hornet fell into disfavor once the .222 came into being. Now the 222 is long since eclipsed by the 223. -
I found a recipe on line for grilling okra that looks interesting. Cut the cap and bottom off, skewer four of them together, lightly butter and season then onto the grill. Reports are it's pretty good.

Yep. It's a small little 22 CF that's good for short range varmiting, people tried to gild the lily by blowing out the case neck into a K-Hornet. It's a fun cartridge but the 222 Remington was much nicer now it's all about the .223. If you have a Contender rifle barrel then that's all you need. If you have the contender pistol barrel it'll do a credible job as I successfully hunted groundhogs for a couple of years with a Contender that had a .218 Bee barrel. -
Sweet! It still looks like something out of a science fiction movie though....

Hmm. I vaguely recall some of the late 1950's but more of the 1960's forward and firmly believe that since R.R;s left office this countries been on a bit of a slide. Now to my mind that's asinine!

Point conceded but public mentality for multiple generations and hundreds of film presentations have imposed another reality on this rendering the perceived reality of the CSA Battle Flag being the CSA national colors. In fact over time the dark burgundy background of the Southern Cross flag has become red which modification as I understand it comes out of Georgia.

G/T. An increasing number of people are reconsidering and choosing to fly the S&B more as an act of defiance in an increasingly controlling society than admiration of Southern Heritage. This bears watching as subversives routinely utilize or blame the disaffected who indicate a degree of self will. By all means fly any and all flags you so choose to do, its still enough of a free country here to allow that.

SJW mentality is endemic in certain personality types and attention seekers, it can easily fall into the chicken little syndrome.

I've known a lot of people over the years who lived with diabetes, some doing well, others not so well. As far as I'm concerned the more modern medicine promotes to know about this disease treatment it continues to change as though with a mind of its own. It's pleasing to see how knowledgeable those so affected here and their family members are, this isn't always the case. Out of curiosity I researched the correlation of okra to diabetic treatment and learned that a powdered extract from its seeds is available in pill form. It actually demonstrated better results but both water & pill dosages of okra can adversely affect some of the medications used with diabetes. Curiously no such problem is evident with those who consume okra as a food item.
