  1.   And this is one of the primary reasons this retired police officer hasn't had a lot of use for the death penalty, the mandated appeals processes are ruinously expensive. I agree life in prison with no hope of ever seeing freedom isn't much to look forward to.
  2. Yep. The copper can tint the water but that mostly looks like mud and silt being washed down stream. Now if that'd been an accidental realease caused by a mine worker a rather large fine and subsiquent clean up would be required. Somehow I don't think EPA's going to do anything other than use Superfund Money...
  3. After several FL expeditions I found Destin in October was everything I wanted. There are outlet malls, lots of really nice places to eat and the beach is still comfortable enough for walking and some swiming.
  4. What you choose to do or have already chosen to do in the case in question is your business, your choosing to share the end results is equally your business. I will say I'm in agreement with EssOne but also understand your viewpoint in this matter. I'll also speculate this individual you encountered has some serious anger control issues that are compounded by the position he's already placed himself in. It is charatible to hope he gets his life turned around and continues to provide for his family. But on the other hand experence has taught me such individuals generally have to age out of their perdeliction for such actions.
  5. It's a nice ride, good performance for the Hp to weight ratio too.
  6. You might be a redneck if you drive a car with this much original retro engineering involved in its daily operation...
  7. Umm. What about a used 2 stroke outboard boat engine? Shouldn't be to hard to find one thats had its lower unit trashed and rebuld parts should be fairly easy to find.
  8. Pyscotropic drugs alter the way neurons in the brain work which can affect mood and reasoning. Some are more adversly affected then others. Things can really get intresting when someone first begins to take the mdidcation and when they cease taking the medication.
  9. Psyc meds are a stopgap measure that sometimes do help patients to heal. They're also scary as heck and paitents most in need cease to take them due to the adverse effect of said meds. But then insane asylams, shock treatment and lobatomies are pretty drastic measures too. We just didn't notice them because they were locked away behind walls, doors and shame.
  10. Keep in mind that even though the G-43 is smaller than some other compact pistols is still larger than a Ruger LCP or K-T P3AT. These little .380's and a few others are true pocket sized pistols for curret pant styles and pocket sizes. Does this mean you cannot make the G-43 work as a pocket pistol? No. It means you'll need to put a little thought into which pants will work the most effectivly and perhaps have deeper pockets installed in some of your trousers.   As an aside an all kydex pocket holster can be a slippery little devil even with the designed hook intended to keep it inside the pocket when drawing the pistol. A really simple fix is a jumbo rubber band wrapped around the holsters circumfrence. Another is to rivit a band of leather roughside out across the front side of the holster. Yeah, I like to tinker around with kydex and leather...
  11. I'm in agreement on letting him decide which of the two he would like to have and making it clear to him its a forever gun. After that start brown bagging your meals and save the extra money. In a few months you'll have enough to buy a replacment gun.
  12. Its just fine the way it is and you have provenance for the history as well. You can easily find a surplus replacement stock for display purposes should you wish to do so but what already there only shows character.
  13. Dang flagpole and flag weight more then the crackerbox carrier vehicel.
  14. Disregarding the proven use of blue locktight I'm leery of it in certain applications and when using such apply so little it will easily break away under pressure. As a general rule the practice of tightening screws to first easy stop, then the mearest fractional to snug works very well.   Yes, you most certainly can strip out threads while installing grip bushings but the worst problem I've had is grip bushings backing out while removing the grips on a newish Series 70 Colt GM. This was "fixed" by the above procedure which an older gunsmith showed me. I also got a good lecture on frequent inspection and checking to see if screws had loosened.
  15.   Ditto! Good timing on this thread isn't it?
  16. Hmm...needs more cowbell...
  17. No, I don't think I'd be intrested in attending the 20th Anniversary of what was numerically never a "million man march" although it still had a respectable turnout. I'll just sit at home, read about it and wonder at the levels of hostility and hate emanating from some of its attendees and speakers.
  18. Yes, that's an intresting declaration, it almost seems as if its a fatwa and call for jihad but given it was made in an AEMC that couldn't be the case. It surprises me in this era of political correctness and SJW where others are severely chastised for running off at the mouth others are simply ignored.
  19. Hmm? OK. Knuckleheads being knuckleheads, get caught and arrested, probably ran their mouths and got ratted out too.
  20. Wow! I bet the would have made a great u-tube video...
  21. IMHO you'd come out ahead by purchasing an airsoft type replica and practicing with it. Then during each practice session incoperate your unloaded carry gun for dry fire. The objective is aimed fire into a cardboard box with the airsoft replica and muscle memory of your carry guns feel and trigger. If you incoperate the dime on the front sight trick for smoothness of trigger pull you'll be in great shape.
  22. Well if your concerned about equine or bovine cargo carries then perhaps you could consider a well trained K-9 capable of carrying some gear? If not then go low tech like the Viet Cong did and use a bicycle as the cargo carrying apperatus so that all your doing is walking alongside and pushing it. Thinking about the terrain this was done over and the weight of the gear carried is enough to seriously consider an inexpensive used bicycle and some DIY pack saddles.
  23. Good choice and I agree the versitility of using the G-21 magazines is a plus factor.
  24.   Redneck Lincoln...ROFLMAO...
  25.   Thanks OS!!!
