  1. I owned an early relase G-36 up until a couple of years ago that always ran like it was supposed to and carried like a G-19. It was a really nice feeling pistol that I wouldn't think twice about owning again. The thing to bear in mind whenever a particular Glock model has an issue is it doesn't pertain to all of that same model. It's generally isolated to a particullar lot number with the right mix of suspected components.
  2.   Yeah. MSN's saying an Ohio NG solider, a USAF Airman and a College student with assists by a Brit, Frenchman and French Actor. I see the media winging it on this story with the actual facts being absent. Someone's going to make a movie out of this before its all over. But regardless kudo's to all involved who stood their ground and fought back and won!
  3. Most of all that CCP/CWPH etc badge nonsense is all about self-importance and wannbe look at me status. Once most persons have indulged in the silliness enough to embarrass themselves the gewgaws go into a box or drawer to be hidden away. Its part of the undercover police officer, narc, secrete agent Walter Mitty  thing. You see a different variation that's equally as bad and every bit as embarrassing in a lot of new rookie police officers.
  4. Excellent video, good layout fantastic use of graphics and very good audio overlay. You are rapidy expanding your visiographics to the point of going into a full scale commercial operation.
  5.   Yep. I always recommend the Lee turret presses and own one of the Classic Cast Turret presses myself. Realistically, with it, a 550B and an old Rockchucker I'm pretty well set.
  6. Getting set up with a good cast iron or steel press is affordable or for near enough the same money you could go with a Lee Classic Cast turret press. Either route is a good start and depending upon how much you shoot may be all you ever want insofar as reloading presses go. As for using hand loads for self-defense, no I wouldn't recommend that for more reasons then I care to begin discussing here. As already mentioned do an internet search on that one and be prepared to read for a while.
  7.   And that sums it up in a nutshell! Its an exercise in creativity and demonstration of mechanical skills all in one neat, compact, fire breathing, wrist thumping package.
  8.   Yeah, pretty much knew that but the NFA did away with a lot of commercially manufactured firearms and such. Just think of it ordering a Thompson SMG, Colt Monitor (BAR), cane guns, 14'' barrel Trapper rifles all via US Mail, delivered right to your door.
  9. *shakes head* So essentally its a 115+/- year old design 70+ year old Mares Leg cut down bolt action something or other then? Overall kudos on the cool factor and whoever did the work is talented. I'm curious as to how it falls into the NFA given the absence of a shoulder stock.

    Kimber Solo

It's a nice pistol, very nice, just a bit thicker than a SA XDs 9 and S&W Shield. Were you looking at NIB pistol's I'd steer you towards a Shield or G-43. Overall though for an all metal pistol the SOLO is pretty much in a class of its own.
  11. Hmm? The level of creativity and mechanical genuis machine work people will put into a cut down rifle or shotgun in some of the worst sh***holes in the world amazes me.
  12. E-Bay or Arms list. Or buy a paid membership here and place a wanted add in the appropriate location. You'll also find that Dillon periodically does sales. I like Dillon products and run a 550 but will point out the Hornady AP Ln L press is pretty darn close to the Dillon 650 but less expensive.
  13. Think of the Rossi along the same lines of a new Taurus revolver it might turn out great but most likely you'll havre some reliability issues. So for my 2 cents worth I wouldn't recommed one to someone else. Instead I'd look for a used S&W K frame, Ruger Security Six or GP100.
  14. Yeah. That's become an Urban Legend from its inception...its intresting to see it resurfacing once again.
  15. I always liked to carry a Safariland Speed Loader and a couple of Bianicia Speed Strips if I was off duty or in plain cloths. But I've got to admit if you add a drop pouch to your belt and practice those loose rounds load very fast. Honestly with a little work you can do the entire dump empties, drop and reload five or six never once looking at the revolver.

  17.   Yeah, I could tell stories about the "I'm an American and I'll carry my gun wherever I want to and whenever I want to" character's I ran across on calls. I never could figure out why someone'd flush away several paychecks and an expensive gun to act a fool in front of their buddies or neighbors. Booze and testosterone are a pretty lethal concoction. Toss in some meth and its a surprise waiting to happen.
  18. Fire Piston's are neat and useful as an alternative, layered fire starting tool set to practtice with.

    WTB: Handgun

You did fine on that deal but inside of a year or less you'll end up buying a Glock 43 because you've already been infected with Glock polymers.  Just remember to hold onto the Shield because its probably the best value for the dollar gun currently being made and sold by S&W. But now that you have two 9mm pistols your should start looking around for a good used 3"-4" .357 Magnum S&W or Ruger revolver. ;-)
  20. Great story which wouldn't have happened without a caring community being brought into the mix via creative social media.
  21. Hmm. Now doesn't that just look like the ideal replacement handgun for the Next military service pistol?
  22. An another reserection of the thread that won't die... internet search engines sure do generate late replies...
  23. Well it's got a Glock trigger, a polymer frame and a steel slide. Wonder it has a partially MiM barrel or not? But overall it looks nice.
  24. I don't have a finised picture but this was a pretty easy DIY project holster and will work just fine for your MaK. http://www.zackwhite.com/Small-9MM-Auto-Gun-Holster-Kit--GH17_p_1311.html The other option is to buy same kydex and either do a clamshell holster or a belt slide. It not that hard. If you were closer I'd let you use my set up and do your own.
