Yeah, I remember some of those solitary finger gestures over the years and seeing most of them in my rear view mirror...

That's an unforgiving road that can bite you in the a** even when your not going fast. You don't have time to look at the scenery or for someone in front of you to be looking at the scenery. It has doglegs and switchbacks that come up on you so suddenly that riders keep going straight right off into ravines. Sometimes its the riders fault, sometimes its not but if your the one who's seriously injured it just sucks.

Tough talks generally pretty easy, making tough, politically dangerous decisions to do the right thing without flaunting it is a better test. Telling a sitting POTUS to forgo his protective detail is one of those things you know isn't going to happen. It's just pandering to the press in order to make someone else look foolish. The problem with that is the press is going to make whoever they want look foolish. -
And a lot of tractor trailer rigs that are to large to travel on 129 end up there because they relied on a GPS instead of a map. That's one really bad stretch of roadway where the other driver, particularly an 18 wheeler is your greatest concern.

Insofar as unmodified NIB DAO small 5 rounds revolvers go the LCR has the better trigger. It isn't the gun I'd choose though as I prefer the S&W J frame action I can easily access and work on myself. I've always thought having a S&W Airweight for regular carry and an all steel M-36 or M-60 for frequent shooting was a good combination. I have seen Colt and S&W alloy frames crack and become unserviceable due to a frequent diet of hot hand loads and +p ammunition.

Anyone Have Experience with Ameriglo Ghost Ring Sights?
TNWNGR replied to E4 No More's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Louis Awerbuck ran a set of ghost ring sights on a custom Glock 19 I handled and shot at a class I attended of his. I recall the front sight was a tritium set up but can't remember if the rear ghost ring had any tritium inserts. The sights were easy to see but there's a learning curve involved in becoming comfortable with them. I honestly cannot tell you I liked or disliked the ghost ring sight set up on that particular handgun. -
Yep. It happens a lot and is very embarrassing when someone try's to make a big deal out of it. Agencies love it for the positive publicity but the doers are generally the lower profile officers just doing their jobs. Those are the actual officers that make a department and have happier careers.

Purchase and external hard drive and duplicate everything onto it then store it in its metalized Mylar storage bag. Afterwards whenever you accumulate data you want saved redo the data transfer.

Nice pistol, what hurt them was the rapid apperance and dominance of high capicity plastic perils which were in the same time period. I was given a magazine from one by a army pilot friend who frequented a gunshop I did partime work for. He thought it'd fit a BHP I had, which of course it didn't. And no, I've no ideal where said magazine is now.

And another revision of the once often discussed "OSS String Holster" with the difference being use of the handguns bore vs. circumference of barrel or slide. What this handgun slinging doohickey and any other string holster does is keep the handgun from falling down your pants leg. Any other retention is via your waist band or belt so IOW the guns not securely retained. String holsters aren't new and are more of a means of temporary improvisation. I read a gun rag story decades ago on this same topic with the comment on an OSS operative being able to ditch the gun and string more easily than a gun and holster.

Well that's interesting.

Excellent video, probably the most concise and through I've viewd on assembling an AR lower. You;ve really got me intrested in a TA Clear lower now. Whenever you want to get together and put together a video on some old school handguns and rifles shoot me a PM and we'll see what we can work out. At the rate of progression your exhibiting you are likely to become a professional firearms videographer.

Well the Sheriff made a comment about the "black life's matter" which ended with him saying "cop life's matter" . Needless to say said Sheriff's comment wasn't appreciated by the local spokesman for the BLM movement. Said Sheriff's now been accused of politicizing the incident. Go figure all this talk about killing police by black agitators and what happens when a Sheriff whose had a Deputy murdered is plain spoken in his response?

When to start transitioning to higher caliber from 22lr
TNWNGR replied to bigalbaldwin's topic in Handguns
If you can shoot a standard sized .22 LR pistol than you can shoot a standard sized 9mm P with standard velocity ammunition.
