  1. Sounds like you need to use suspenders
  2.   Nice try Greg but its not the same thing.
  3. Two Amazon's of Womens Tennis who are very talented.
  4. WOAD Milner was a police recruters poster boy of what represented what we wanted in a police officer. I do believe that Adam-12 helped generate an increased intrest in police work for myself and others. It was far less edgy and conflicted then the Police Story and subsiquent police procedural dramas. His Route 66 series was something I remembered but was so young at the time I don't recall any episodes. I've recently watched some episodes on U-Tube and recognized a lot of actors who later became noteworthy. Milner remained married to his wife until his death, raised a houseful of kids with her and loast one of his grown daughters to cancer. He treated acting as a profession with emphisis on its being a job and I noticed that.
  5. Wow! That's so extraordinary it sounds like a bad TV medical story. Glad your still kicking and participating and hope your annoyed enough by all this to continue doing so.
  6. The gen 4 Glock 21 & 30 is more comfortable in my hands than the previous gen 1,2 & 3 varients but it's still a pretty good sized gun. If your dead set on somethin of a tactical tupperware persuarsion then look at one of the SA XD compacts too. I don't know how close to Clarksville you are but TN Gun Country has an Indoor range with a fairly extensive Glock and other brand rental pistol inventory.
  7.   That's about the size of it. I have an elderly 1911 whose slide was close to have being as bad as the pistol in question here and have had another which was worse. Both were media blasted to provide an overall textured matt base and hot blued. The worst of the metal pitting and such was still visible to a critical eye but overall the slides looked better. I couldn't begin to guess how this would look on the slab-sided flats of a Glock slide.
  8. There's actually nothing wrong with the refinishing job done on the pistol illustrated by the OP. I've seen severe pitting silver soldered and draw filed for an accceptable surface but its labor intensive. To have been feasable in this project would have been a case of the refinisher wanting to do it for the experence. What I don't know and cannot predict is whether the JB Weld will provide a long lasting base, but then again it might.
  9. You filled in the pitted areas and slide groves with JB Weld, sanded it down and then applied a spray on finish over that? Well, that was certainly an option did you discuss this with a professional machinist or welder?
  10. Sometimes a nuisance feral cat or dog has to be destroyed but no cat or dog should be subjected to cruel and inhumane neglect or treatment. I know  a lot of people who wouldn't think twice about killing a stray cat on their property. I'm not one of them. I believe in responsible pet ownership and having my pets neutered or spayed. I also believe a domestic cat kept indoors will have a longer, healthier life than an outdoor or indoor/outdoor cat.
  11. Yep, they'll be held accountable and I expect every one of them will be going through some remedial use of force and firearms training fairly quickly as well. I'd also expect that every one of those involved would all do the same thing a year or so from now under similar circumstances. I believe this is more of a problem in larger urban metropolises with large numbers of police officers and violent offenders.
  12.   Hmm. And I recall a certain famous gun writer/instructor who raved about the Glock NYT and combinations therein. Of course what he was gushing about was a heavier trigger pull that eliminated a lot of the Glock trigger sponginess. All this of course being pre Ghost and other like vendor triggers. Gun writers and to a bit of a degree further gun writer-firearms trainers can be disagreeably despicable.
  13. Yeah, really makes you wonder doesn't it? I've noticed that a number of judges really go off the rails once they've been on the bench a while. I've also noticed that existing gun trafficing and such like laws are generally pled down, but then so are most drug trafficing charges.
  14. Well its toxic as can be so you'll have to use good ventalation, respritory protection and protective clothing but of course none of that ws done years ago. Perhaps by now someone's figured out I'm talking about liquid mercury and yes some folks used to use it as a bore cleaner. Nope I've never used it. But this stuff works pretty good and isn't as bad on you... http://handloads.com/articles/default.asp?id=9

    Glock

Wow! That's some serious machine work on that slide and it looks amazing!
  16. Well I never bought in on the heavy modification of fairly new 4X4 vehicles to be taken off road and trashed out. I did learn the reality of what it was to be gun poor though. Just find your own balance.
  17. Yep, use some penetrating oil first, give it time to sork its way in and then carefully proceed.
  18. T.L.E.T.A. is a good bit of physical and acadamic training with the instructors trying as many mind games as they can get away with. It's more than a bit tougher for THP Recruits. If she's been doing daily calestics, running and weight training it will help her. The firearms and driving courses are where the mindgames get played a lot.
  19.   Yeah, a kitten can totally suck you into its little world without even trying to do so.
  20. i enjoyed that one.
  21.   Based upon circumstances on the porch or inside the foyer could be equally defensible. The events taking place on the porch are of interest though. It wouldn't be the first outer entrance way confrontation that became an inside the entrance way shooting. Given the age of the shooter I don't see it becoming a grand jury presentment. I do foresee further trouble though.
  22. Hmmm. 16 year old neighbor who's tried to break into the house on previous occasions. Wonder if he was ever charged for any of that? Mom buys handgun for famlies protection based upon past break in attempts. 11 year old and 16 year old have verbal confrontation of the porch. 16 year old gets his head ventalated. I'd say that there's quite a bit more to the story here.
  23. Look's more like a SBR than a HG to me. But I like it!

    Glock

Why would you need a subset forum for TT ala Glock's in a regional firearms forum?
  25. Look's like someone'd like a nice safe home. I like cat's and dog's but recognize they require human supervision to keep them out of trouble and safe. Feral cats and dogs are a serious problem and the fault of neglecting owners. If we lived closer I'd probably be tempted to become a cat owner again.
