All to often threads which start out with a picture or video of an officer conducting a stop or arrest go off on unpredictable tangents. There is and has always been a significant number of people who challange, criticise and question everything an officer does or doesn't do to pieces. Most of those who do so fall into a lot of different catagories on the level of authoritism and actual real world experence. Situational judgemet and the decision making matrix in some police actions fall into the fractional second mode sometimes just on a briefest of glance or sound. Some will simply not let a thread die...which this one's long overdue...

I'm in near the same boat as you having been on the lookout for a pre-crossbolt Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag. I did however luck out and find a pcs 1894 Marlin in .357 Magnum. So at this point I'm leaning towards one of the Henry's but will add a Marlin if I find one. Hope this helps in your process of eliminations.

Yeah. there's a lot of technology in that little fireplug. I'm still trying to figure out the companies single shot .223 "sniper" derringer though.

Any Gallatin car mechanics on here that can help out a brother?

This thread has metamorphisied into TGO AAMC (ask about my car) which hopefully isn't trademarked or copywrited. -
I don't know why but I've wanted one of those every since I first read about them. I can think of more reasons not to buy one then to buy one but it doesn't matter, I want one! Great picture and thinks for the posting!

Yep. I can let you shoot a Glock, SR-9 and line up some other tactical tupperwear at either a local outdoor range or indoor range. Pretty much any other member of this forum will do the same.

Yeah, but aside from lighting up the inside if a Pacer those produce a paltry blue flame...lol...knew a ya-bob who burned out the seat of his pants playing that game

Hmmm. I thought all of the "Mares Leg" handguns were more about the cool or fun factor than any practicality and as such more of a "big boy toy". If so then it's all about making some noise at the range and friends having fun then fine marksmanship or high end reliability. Safety, yes, expectation of perfect performance in a bastard design though is a bit of a reach.

I kept expecting someone to say "hey ya'll someone hold my beer and ya'll watch this..." And to think the media's going nut's over that oversized zippo...

I'd read bits of this story before but never with this detail, oddly there's no doubt in my mind that both pilots would have done what they set out to do...

Well it's not the first crane collapse I've heard off and the number of lives lost most likely mean nothing to most of the populace there. But then like has always been pretty insignificant there if you weren't of the Royal family.

Yeah, Mr I ate my pet dog for supper and his verbally absurd tail gunner are real statesmen... Says a lot about the quality of people who choose to serve in elected office

bersaguy we, as a nation, were only seperated from the terrorist attacks taking place all over Europe and the Middle East because of geographical boundries. The proleferation of high capacity jet transports and the informational exchange freeway of the internet changed all of that. Now we are facing a literal invasion of humans directed into Western Countries to partake of the kindness and handouts. This is another form of terrorism intended to bankrupt and destroy the countries invaded by this mass exodus of overpopulated countries.

Have to concur on this line of thought and readily admit to having watched every end of the world and after the end of the world mentioned here. Day of the Triffid's and many others are equally good but The Book of Eli is the most realistically feasible. Oh yeah, I've probably read more fiction of this genre than I want to reflect back on but seriously recommend Lucifer's Hammer and anything you can find written by Dean Ing.

I was at home and turned the TV on moments after the second plane had struck and immediatly thought about the car bomb there years earlier. My next thought, with the disaster managment and experence background I had, was parts of those buildings were going to start coming down soon. I didn't really consider them collapsing the way they actually did but was perplexed at all of the first responder equipment and such being that close. It was pretty clear to me that anyone above the fires and many floors below were already dead or going to die. So having enough training and experience to know next to nothing could be done was infuriating. I know if it'd been my city and I'd been on duty and there I'd have been just as caught up in the mix as those responders were. It still pisses me off whenever I think about it.

It's a concern but not a deal breaker as I've seen low oil readings before that varied due to environmental conditions. Check the tail pipes, valve covers and crawl up under it and look for leaks. Then for peace of mind pay a good mechanic to check it out.

A similar move about fourteen years or so ago set me back $1000.00 and was a total pain in the ass. So yeah it's possibly going to cost you more now. If you have good reliable friends and family with some pick up trucks and at least one good trailer I'd rent a U-Haul and do it myself.

On a tagentially related line of thought I wonder how many here have ever seen a Singer 1911? Or turned one into evidence after charging the owner?

Of the S&W M&P product line the 9mm P Shield is the only one I like. With that said the only SA XD I ever liked enough to actually purchase is the XDs 9 which I prefer to the Shield. Now that the G-43 has been around long enough to see how its actually working out I see myself inclined to purchase one soon enough. What all of the above pistols actually offer is a slimmer profile which when coupled with a good quality IWB or high rise OWB holster means is less carry bulk on your waist. While this is factual its also not that big of a deal as a gen 4 G-26, aside from the factory Glock trigger pull, is a powder puff to shoot.

I've been in your position and sympathize but recommend you find the closest reliable repair shop, set up an early morning appointment and limp the overheating car in. You might get lucky and only be there two or three hours or you might have to leave the vehicle for a day or two. Of the two vehicles neither sound like anything other than middling repair work with some parts swapping involved. -
I don't recommend the PPK/s but everyone seems determined to have a JB gun and their own viewpoints based upon hearsay and such so that's for you to determine first hand. In .380 ACP I'd recommend the LCP/P3AT, Pico, 238 and Mustang and G-42 with a maybe to the from first hand knowledge. In 9mm P the XDs 9, 938, Solo, Shield 43 and a possible to the LC9s. I'll equally recommend a S&W J frame or Ruger LCR

Political pandering pure and simple with no thought on the civil liability of what the knuckleheads are talking about.

yeah, it was bandied about here sometime back with a lot of guffaws about the "gripzone" advertising format and embossment upon the gins grips. A forum member or two have since purchased this model pistol. Overall the advertising approach could have been done differently and its uncertain this models a significant improvement over anything else. Still it was worth the revisiting.

The basic principles espoused by Darwin when coupled with booze and idiocy generally have a terminally abrupt conclusion.
