That whole test is pretty much BS in my mind and I didn;t even bother to finish watching the video.

I really like tritium sights but after trying Fiber Optic sights like them evven better. They are also less expensive. http://www.hivizsights.com/product-category/products/handgun-sights/

What the heck did they put on the nest to kill all of the yellow jackets overnight?

I do have a personal request fellows. On all of this Islam vs. Christianity vs. Catholic Church and whose Bible or Koran thumping abilities and self justification dialog ongoing here. This thread started as a commentary of a mass shooting with some good referred reports. You fellows have become preachy and borderline offensive in turning it into a religious tirade. For the love of Mike please knock it off and stop trying to rewrite what's done.

Curiously this is what I recall from School course work...all of the other stuff came when everyone started kowtowing to OPEC and then Fundamentalist Islamist and Apologist.

Yep, terrible, I knew the videorgrapher who caught it all on tape, it haunted him years afterwards. Poor guy was about my age and passed away two or three years ago...way to young... I don't mind fixed wing general avaition but helicopters make me uncomfortable. Knowing how aggressivly Army Avaitors have to train and push the airframes and themselves is stunning. Condolences to the families and friends of the two soliders who were killed in the crash.

Well yeah we kind of know that down here about's you know, but of course the industrialization we wanted pre-civil war did finally come about quite a bit afterwards. Of course now the heavily industrialized Northern States that opposed us while continuing to be even more horrid then we were accused of being are mostly blighted waist lands now. Funny how that all worked out isn't it?

Everybody but liberal politicians and mainstream media's already pinged on the fact the entire clock incident was staged. I like the fifteen million dollars demand and written letters of apology to. Karma...it has an intresting way of manifesting itself.

Well on the plus side it's forced me to allow some time for a sore foot to get better.

Actually you don't have to use a CNC machine you can do everything on a decent sized milling machine. Buy the milling machine, do several recievers for future builds and either keep it for future projects or sell it. http://www.homegunsmith.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi

Yeah. I've already been doing the outdoor walking/hiking and light jogging. I bought a Fitbit Charge HR and its a real motivator. I've done several eight mile walks up and down hills. The downside though is when rain sets in for a few days as is been doing since Sunday. I much prefer walking outside and will continue to do so but need something for when I can't get outside. On the plus side I've already dropped close to fifteen pounds. Twenty more and I'll be pretty happy.

Security cameras are a mixed blessing kind of thing in that the main thing because they require constant monitoring to be actually effective. As to deterance, its more of the analogy of locks keeping honest people honest. Criminals either don't care or more correctly figure they aren't likly to be identified. I'd be happier with a camera system tied into a motion detector that alerted my smart phone so I could see what was happening in real time. Having a good home security system recording thhings also tells you after the fact wherever an intruder went therefor allowing good points of reference for evidence retrival. To post or not post? By all means post away.

TrickyNicky, as much as I like Atlanta I'm not sure it's where I would want to live...but I do find myself yearning for the Chattanooga I knew as a small child. Both cities are better places now then in the sixties through eighties.

FWIW I've painted basement floors with a good epoxy paint with pretty good results and liked the look. But with that said I'd rent a good high pressure self heating hot water pressure washer and thoroughly strip the floor. Once clean I'd lay a good tile floor down, keeping an extra box or two of replacement tiles.

I'm currently shopping for a good tredmill machine and wanted to get some recommendations and feedback for the TGO clan members on the matter. I'm doing some high level fitness walking for cardio and weight loss outdoors but not currently running or jogging. I'll probably incoperate some light jogging into the mix a bit later on but no running. With that out of the way the ground rules on the purchase are best bang for the buck with service life, ease of use and long term reliability. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I own one and I like it because its a small pistol with good sights and is fun to shoot. You can generally find one used in a gun shop if you look for it. Probably one of the best .22 pistols for general field shooting and such is the Ruger Mk II with standard sights. One of those with a 6" barrel is on my wish list.

You can run a Officer's Model slide and barrel on a Commander frame if that's what is intresting you. But if your looking to convert a Commander frame to an Officers Model frame it's economically unfeasable. If you truly want an Officers Model frame then either trade or sell your exhisting Commander frame to obtain an Officers Model frame or purchase one outright.

Good overall size, fantastic ergonomics, good holster and magazine availability, sights are good with solid aftermarket availabilities. Excellent out of the box trigger and very attractive pricing so its not a bad little package. I like the PPS but am not likely to be buying one because I am staying with other platforms. But I do make an effort to seriously evaluate pistols I find of interest.

Sling Ideas for Winchester 94 Carbine
TNWNGR replied to runco's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Why not install a saddle ring...http://www.tapaderaswinchesters.com/saddlerings.html...then you can simply hook a single point sling to it. If that's not your thing then purchase a simple rifle sling you like tie off one end to the forward magazine tube with a piece of rawhide and do the same behind the receiver. I mention these because you've indicated misgivings about having a sling swivel stud installed on the rear stock. -
I've owned 1st through 4th gen Glocks and much prefered the grip of the 2nd gen G-17/19 to the 3rd gen model. With that said I really like everything about the 4th gen Glock 17/19. My best recommendation is to give the 3rd and 4th gen models a runtest.

How to thank an officer for going far beyond the C.O.D.?
TNWNGR replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
I recieved thank you cards for individuals which were nice because it kept things personal. I also recieved atta boys from the Chief after someone wrote a letter complementing me and sent it to the Chiefs office. Some police officers like attention some don't but everyone appreciates a simple thank you card. As for gifts and such, I wouldn't do that as it could be a violation of that acencies policies. -
Springfield XD or Ruger SR45 for the good bang for the buck feeling. Sig P220 or the M&P 45 are also in the mix.

I suspect your brother's eventually going to be told the defendant's were also charged with being in possession of stolen property if Metro PD knew said guns were stolen. It makes no difference on the property being released unless one of the firearms was used in the commision of another crime. Your brother needs to take a copy of the police report from his break in with him and have a sit down, face to face meeting with the supervisor of the prosicuting officer. Present a synopisis of all current conversations and ask why the firearms haven't been returned to him. Make sure this is done in a professional, cordial manner and also mention he is unhappy with the confusion to date. Casualy drop an attornies name whom he has already spoken with and request that attorney follow up with a letter. He's either going to be told why the guns haven't been returned yet or have them returned. One additional thing, if the parties in question were charged with possession of stolen guns or felon's in possession of firearms and your brothers guns were listed a judge will have to sign off on their release.

You might want to take a look at the SA XDs 45 with a 4" barrel. It has the singlestack thin frame you want, is lightweight and has a polymerframe. I don't think you'll be displeased with it as my XDs 9 with its 3.3" barrel has been a good pistol. I would also find a good custom gunsmith who specilizes in 1911 pistols and have the 1911 rebulit and tuned.
