    SNOW!!

Snowy but not as gloomy as earlier, I've no need to get out in this mess so I'm staying home. The State/County/City Street & Highway Departments will have any main corridors open already in my AO but more rural routes will be a while. It's pretty much a stay home kind of day or two. One thing I'm grateful of here in Upper Middle TN is we only get mild to moderate winters most of the time so snow deeper then 6" is only a sometimes thing. Thank goodness the ice storms are only in seven or so year cycles.
  2. Oh they went there...got spanked...have to settle up on paying their fines before the bikes are returned and are now all butthurt about it...even better some clown uses the walk of shame anology because they had to walk back to their cars and such. And BTW isn't it interesting the motor vehicles were outside of the base boundries.

    Amazon Echo

There's a slightly hidden button switch on the top of the device where it can be turned off when you don't want it operational. As to the other privacy aspects...want me to talk about smart phones?

    Amazon Echo

It sounds good, I used to have a Bose system that would take an MP3 player and sounded amazing, this ones equally nice. Essentially its a pretty good voice activated speaker connected to a cloud storage set up and is interactive. Even better its portable, for now I'm just trying to figure out its ins and outs.

    Amazon Echo

Yep. I've got the I-Phone already but not a Bluetooth speaker, overall the pricing on the Echo and its other features looked pretty good. Bedside's I already have Amazon Prime so it was just the cost of the device.
  6. I like the PPQ better but if I were intrested in the VP9 I'd be looking at the Canik instead.
  7. Some of you might already have one of the Amazon Echo devices others might be curious, just as I am. Itt's essental a Pringles can shaped mini speaker/MP3 player/voice activated inter active computer. I wanted a music player that tied into my WIFI and became intrested in the Echo. To cut to the chase I ordered one and it arrived via UPS today. Obvisouly this thing benifits Amazon in that it makes Amazon orders easy so obviously they will continue to sell. So here's the deal, anyone in the know who has operating experence with these devices and tips or suggestions please chime in. I've already found on line info, I just want more mainstream, simplified info.
  8. I'd not paid a lot of attention to this in all of the M&P pistol's I've handled and shot over the last few years. I knew I didn't care for the external safety but it wasn't a deal killer. So the non external safety pistol was more appealing but leave it to S&W to recognize using the same frames for both the external and non external pistols was the most cost effective approach. Retrospectivly if this is a concern a tiny trace of glue should resolve any concerns.
  9.   Anybody who eats in more restaurants then you want to know about can't be too picky...
  10. I'll gladly look at one of the Kimber Revolvers but am unlikely to ever consider purchasing one. If I want a heavy five shot .357 I'll go with the Ruger SP-101, if I want a five shot 38 Special the S&W M-60, 640 or 442.  As much as I admire the Colt Detective Special and its lighter weight sibling the Agent its not as robust a gun as the SP 101 or S&W J-frame.
  11.   I've been receiving a bunch of e-mail flyers lately on Mead kits... then I found plans in e-how for a vodka still...it'd be easy to lose every bit of free time just tinkering
  12. Well the Thunder-Five was a good bit heavier then the Judge or Govenor and had more of a strong push back with shotshells then a harsh kick. But when you fired a .410 slug out of it that strong push back became more of a get your attention recoil. Not terrible but not for everybody either. FWIW it I were purchasing a .410 for personal defense it'd be a Mossberg 500 with a pistol grip. Otherwise I'd go with a good 3" 38/357 if I were going with a revolver.
  13. Overall IMHO the principle feeling I get from the GT site and its formating is its overly cluttered with advertising and attitudes. The advertising, while necessary for operating capital, comes across as excessive clutter getting in the way and slowing things down. As to the attitude...well thats an institutional mindset in a lot of ways...and why I avoid some firearms forums I used to enjoy visiting.
  14.   Wouldn't have bothered me if it'd stayed blacked out...

    Cz and sig?

It's mostly about marketing and how said marketing ties into the law enforcment or competitive action shooting community. For a number of years now SiG has been heavily into the LE market, CZ less so but CZ had better pricing. Ergonomically the CZ 75 and its derivitives feel better in my hands and look better then anything SiG is marketing. However, the SiG P220 and 226 both appeal to me more than any striker gun I've owned, carried on duty or just fired at the range. So it depends on what you prefer after trying out what you see.
  16. I know that Glockpost.com went silent a while back but don't know about Glocktalk...that place became so needy and full of drama babies I stopped going there five or so years ago...
  17.   Exactly... These petitions are largely exercises in futility unless they meet the political agendas of the political hacks with enough clout to make it happen.
  18. Of the two I'd lean towards the S&W SDVE 9mm for its basic simplicity, avalability of magazines and aftermarket holsters and accessories. But in reality either would probably work and any HG inside one of my vehicles would either be on me or inside a BUG I carried in and out of the house or workplace (conditional upon locational policies).
  19.   The winner and still champion!!!! Allow me to introduce Mr. Snark...aka TGO David....
  20.   How now brown Glock
  21.   Precisely, I could care less who won the money, I've never even bought a TN lottery ticket. If you win then good for you, just don't rub it in my face and expect me to feel sorry for you when someone either fleeces you out of the money or you spend it all away.
  22.   No, I can't say I'd do that either and its a certainty your going to either have to relocate to a more secure home or a more secure community and home. There's a bit of a curse to coming into a large lottery winning or being born into a family of large substantive means which fails to raise you to put others first.
  23. One of the downsides in winning big in the TN Lottery is your loss of annominity which in turn makes you easily identified by the unscruplous or criminal elements. Willingly going after television face time on the front side of a proper notification is not the most prudent of things to be doing. But to each their own because you can't expect them to act any way other then what their own nature or recomendations of others.
  24.   Sums it up quite nicely...lots of noise and smoke 'n mirrors...way better if you don't pay theater ticket prices...
  25.   While he's at it you guys can make a kitchen knife rack and a grill tool rack that can be hand washed and sanitized. Use some good Krylon paint for plastics and it'll look good. Add some eye-bolts and you can suspend it from the ceiling and keep counter space open.
