http://www.rwva.info/rwva%20pages/libertytrainingrifle.html Ruger actually made a Liberty Rifle for a while with peep sights and sling swivels but I don't see it listed now. Some folks are buying the heavy barrel and just going with a scope set up.

OEM? Only one that came with a 2nd gen G-22 and it was still usable as a range mag. After market mags? Can;t say as I haven;t bought any of them yet.

Bear in mind that when Gaston & Co. designed the G-17 it was on the trailing edge of the initial combat pistol shooting sports of IPSC where a lot of the shooters had gone through the support hand forefinger on the front of the trigger guard thing. The H&K PS9 &P-7, both of which predate or nearly predate the Glock had similarly made front trigger guards as does the Beretta 92 and some others. Its kind of an indoctrination thing that's simply stuck with us. As much as I hate the Glock trigger guard I leave it alone, otherwise I'm forever more restricted to custom made holsters for that one particular gun.

Man that's not really that big of a project you should be having people falling all over themselves bidding on it this time of year. If you have a Mennonite or Amish Community near by I'd contact them. They might not work as cheaply as some other companies who hire "immigrant's" but the works is always of good quality.

Nope. Your dealing with special snowflakes who believe their cause is just and people like you (and me) are purely evil and not the true spirited SJW that make things all better for everybody.

I'm guessing you've already checked Angie's List and your local BBB because your street savvy that way. FWIW I found out the hard way it was easier to hire the people needed for the specific jobs I needed done in the necessary order. I know what your looking for is a home improvement business to line up all of that for you but that's gotten a bit more difficult lately. Insofar as adding onto the house please do your due diligence there as well because its often less expensive to simply sell and buy a bigger house. Yeah I know, it shouldn't be that way but it is. Best of luck to you and I'd been wondering how you and the Mrs. were doing.

Its a business so it shouldn't have been affected.

I like to see outside of the box thinking but what your proposing doesn't sound exactlly right. If its the way I think I understand it your going to have some serious movement in that holster.

I looked it up and here's a functional link to what's essentially another firearms forum which links to Facebook and twitter. Maybe its a good thing maybe its not I just tend to wonder at "new" forums sprouting up all over. https://gundistrict.com/

He's not as big of a guy physicaly in person as he comes across as being in his videos but hes as good a guy as you'll ever meet. I know he had open heart surgery a few years ago but hadn't heard he had any further health related issues. I hope he gets well soon and is able to get back to doing whatever he feels like doing.

Open Carrier Gets Robbed of His Gun
TNWNGR replied to gun sane's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Not intended to be negative in any way here but how many HCP holders here have ever been taught and practiced weapon retention techniques or disarming techniques? For those prior or current LEO who have do you practice them at all? You can buy every Level III or IV holster available and I promise you they are nowhere near as secure as you think that they are. How you carry is your business and if you choose to be irresponsible or imprudent then that burden gets passed on to others. Its kind of like the mantra (lack of prior planning leads to.)... You should be able to finish the rest. Its not about ego or exerting your rights, just use some good sense and be safe. -
Open Carrier Gets Robbed of His Gun
TNWNGR replied to gun sane's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Based upon my professional background and experence I'll just say I'm more then a bit suspicious of that story. Could it happen that way? Sure. Did it really happen that way? There are some places I'd avoid even if I had a trained, experenced and competent protection detail with me. -
I like it and agree its one big azz'ed gun...

This is why I stopped sticking an FOP placard on my vehicles and don't put any gun related stickers on them. No identifiers or attention getters at all. BTW...nice little dig at the Bernie camp...lol

Glock 80% lower preorders (Polymer80)
TNWNGR replied to MountainDewed's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
It's not as bad as it initially sounded... http://www.polymer80.com/Spectre-FAQ_ep_46-1.html There are other pistols where part of the rail system is only polymer as well that are doing surprisingly well so this frame looks interesting. -
You picked an awkward platform for such an intrest and as far as I know no redily avalable aftermarket barrels. Worse still its not likely Ruger will sell you an SR9 barrel either, which would simplify the threading process. One of the only options I'm aware of is having your current barrel threaded so that a threaded barrel extension can be attached. Said barrel extension would provide the mounting surface for a suppressor. http://ingunowners.com/forums/class-iii-nfa/182050-suppressed-ruger-sr9.html There is no guarantee the SR9c will be suitable but its been done already with an SR9. Insofar as a cost effective solution goes you'd be better off going with a G-19 platform.

Glock 80% lower preorders (Polymer80)
TNWNGR replied to MountainDewed's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
It depends on the quality of the polymer but I kind of suspect there's some type of trigger control group insert that's going to be required to make that 80% frame work. -
It's only awkward feeling until you adjust to it but once you invest a bit of training time you'll do just fine. I honestly think its easier to shoot a rifle or shotgun from your weakhand or non dominant side then its is to shoot a handgun from the weak hand position. Just make sure the stock is a good fit and do enough dry fire practice to get your positioning in place.

I've owned several shoulder holsters over the years and hated every one of them, from verticle to horazontal carry ones. They do have a place and a purpose but not necessaraly in everyday carry. If your wanting one to try out or for simple field carry while out in the woods then one of the Uncle Mike rigs is affordable and easy to adjust. To my way of thinking a shoulder holster is great for when your driving or riding in a vehicle or for a hunting handgun. I've yet to visit a flea market, gun show or swap meet where someone didn't have some used shoulder holsters for sale or trade.

Nice combo rig you've got there! I'm so torn between the Shield and Glock 43 I can't make up my mind on which one I want to buy and I'm not going to buy both...lol...

You pretty much summed up my feelings on the matter, I owned a G-36 for a long time and shot a few G-30's as well. The G-36 felt better but I just didn't like it. Then I bought an XDs9 and was amazed at how nice it felt, I was suspicious of the XDs45 thinking it would be uncomfortable to shoot. Nope, its different in felt recoil but not enough to be a bother. But back to the OP...I don't mind small frame mods on a Glock pistol such as increased relief under the trigger guard but I avoid other frame mods.

Not to disparage the brand but I recently learned that Hi-Point Firearms (HPA) has a .380 ACP rendition of their little carbine. http://hi-pointfirearms.com/Hi-Point-carbines/380ACP_carbine_blk.html So for those of you just itching to add a .380 ACP long gun counterpart to match up with your .380 ACP pocket gat now you have an excuse. I have now ideal how long this things been out or why a .380 ACP carbine would be a good ideal but it is what it is.

It has a bit of a SIG-ish apperance to it but that squared off trigger guard on a new release Made in USA pistol is irritating.

It's been a great day. The temps were great but the breeze (windy) made it feel suprisingly cool. I've put in some miles of walking this week which was great after the recent snowfall. I believe I;m going to go with some concrete planters for a raised garden this year Ted.
