  1.   I'm still in the decision making loop on a smaller SUV/AWD vehicle and have seriously looked at the Toyota Tacoma 4Dr PU with thought of a camper shell. But that's moot as I have a recommendation with respect to use of your garage being a deal breaker. Have you considered an exterior car port in front of or to the side of the garage door entrance? The properly anchored all metal ones are affordable and sturdy.
  2. Having read this and still rembering the Wesson oil lube drama my only comment is..."Yawn"....
  3.   The only thing I could think of the military could charge them with would be possession of stolen property, drugs or a weapons charge if they were in on base housing. Otherwise it'd be something resulting from a drug screen or some such, but as you say even with a general discharge they've screwed the pooch. Really stupid stuff. I've seen more then a few police officers, deputies, jailers and correction officers do stupid stuff that got them arrested and tossed as well.
  4.   I'm interested in finding out what the actual badge they flashed was as the earlier news release description doesn't match an MP or CID badge. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that the local charges could be dismissed in order for the CID to pursue Federal charges. But most likely these losers will plead out, then be court martialed and kicked out of the military. They've pretty much thrown away and future educational opportunities and have limited their employment opportunities. That in and of itself is a lifetime punishment.
  5. Aside from a few internal refinements the LCP is still a hammer fired, non striker fired pistol. It's action is cocked when a the slide is pulled back and released. Essentially this means whenever the process of chambering a round is preformed. The LC9 and SR22 are also hammer fired pistols with the LC9 being updated to the LC9s a striker fired pistol. l So in response to the OP you LCP is doining what it was designed to do. I believe you may have confused its function with a DA/SA pistol whiich fires or can be dry fired every time the trigger is pulled. Good question though.
  6. I sat down and took a serious look at the meds my doctor had me on, my eating habits and lack of activity and said enough. Through a combnation of walking and a low calorie diet I dropped over 30# and am no longer taking any perscription meds. Being healthier is a pretty good thing.
  7. I think you did a first class camo job there.
  8. It's a nice looking pistol in an oversaturated striker fired pistol market so I'm not to optomistic on its future success. But I'd sure like to see Hi-Point Arms mysteriously replacing their pistol product line with these from an estethic point of view. Practically speaking I can say the same for Kel-Tec Arm's and their center fire pistol product line as well...
  9.   They were probably jailers...not being negative or anything but we don't know what was going on during the stop with them so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

    Glock 43

I never liked the S&W BG enough to want to buy one, especially after shooting one and comparing it to a KT P3AT and Ruger LCP. So for those small pocket carry pistol occasions I just stick with the LCP. But once I finish my weight loss program and buy new clothes some deep pocket trousers are on my to buy list. Then it's going to be a G-43 and SA  SDs .45 3.3 for seasonal pocket carry rotation. Fourteen more pounds to go!
  11.   If that's documented then someone's going to own either a gun range or the money for selling a gun range.

    Glock 43

That's good news and congratulations on your recent family addition, you've done yourself proud.
  13. There's really no comparison as the Star Model B is a 1911 pattern style 9mm single stack large frame for caliber class service pistol. The FN/Browining P-35 HP is a slightly smalller, slightly wider double stack 9mm service pistol that holds five more rounds in its magazine. Even better it's slightly lighter then the Model B. Some Model B variants were and are truly exceptionally well made pistols, others are clunkers. With the exception of some of the Nazi produced BHP pistols and early Ingles models any older BHP is only limited by how worn it is.
  14.   IIRC when the show was playing it was mentioned that the daughter wanted to be an actress...whether she's met that goal's another question. I fully agree she looks no different from a lot of other girls I see out and about in stores.
  15. The concept is to use some steel framing in the construction, rebar will also work very well. You can either weld or use strong U-bolts for the frame and drill into the floor to bolt it all down. Bear in mind this is a four walled construction in a corner so if an exterior wall goes the shelter is still intact. In tornados a combination of factors come into play, flying debris, wind, overpressure and collapsing buildings. A solid interior structure will do well in these but you need to allow for ventilation. Nothing is 100% perfect, so what you're doing is risk management based. The attached link should give you some ideals. Good luck to you. http://hackaday.com/2013/07/01/build-your-own-steel-reinforced-storm-shelter/
  16. If you have an attached garage then I suggest building a reinforced concrete block storm room in one of its corners. Anchor a reinforced strapped down cealing to it with a vented roof, put a heavy steel door on it, fit it out and don't worry. You'll be looking at the same or less overall money but have a better set up. Whnever you list the house it can be a selling point.
  17.   Dead link
  18. http://flagnotify.com/                   There are other similar sites as well. As to whether all are current I can't confirm.
  19. That entire show was so disgustingly fake it was an embarasment to decent gun owners. He was obviously living beyond his means to the point of waving red flags in the face of the IRS and any creditors. Then he has the audacity to smirk in his mug shot. You won;t have to wait to long to suddenly learn of additional charges and misconduct allegations.
  20.   Glock mags will wear over time with enough use and in turn fall more readily from the mag well. Some may feed perfectly well but wobble about enough to be troublesome. So rotation and or replacement does become necessary periodically. As to how you square off a polymer Glock frame that's no longer factory spec. Heat and a properly sized mag well insert. You also might have to have some fill in work done with Accra Glass. If you're carts handy you can probably do it yourself. If your not you'll need to weight out other options. I'm hoping a new mag release, spring and perhaps a couple of new OEM mags will solve your problems.
  21. http://www.rockyourglock.com/parts/MagRelease.htm    I prefer the OEM mag release others seem to like the Vickers Tactical but lots of folks want to sell you what they make...
  22. Clean up at checkout...oh and entrance...darn and on the sidewalk too...
  23.   The plastic mag release is a chronic problem in the Glock pistols and frequently the simplest and best feasible solution is simply replacing it. Should the problem not be mechanical then you need to think about readjusting your hand grip while shooting as this is another rather common problem, especially so with extended mag releases.
  24. Well that certainly left a mark...
  25. I read about this earlier and am suspicious enough to realize this fellows going to be out of that particular job as soon as enough time has passed. It sucks but that's what's going to happen, I just hope somone steps up and helps him line up another job before the hammer drops.
