  1. I'd consider doing both the "find my phone" app and a car mounted GPS. I'd also install a dash mounted camera. Then I'd sit down with her and have a discussion with her. She has the freedom to use the vehicle and go where you allow her to go so far as she abides by your rules. You have the right to check on her vehicle operation skills and be able to locate her if you are concerned for her safety.   Additionally the GPS and dash mounted camera can be used to provide a clear and unbiased representation of the facts if she's involved in an accident or is stopped by a police officer. If her friends have issues with this then they aren't true friends. If she has issues with this then she doesn't understand it can either save her life or save her drivers license.
  2.   That's pretty much my take on the matter as well, I suspect that if everything on the video is correct and accurately represented in the correct context without omissions the officers going to have some serious problems.        I watched this video yesterday and didn't like it, I still don't like it, I'd be interested in reading what the officer said to justify his actions. I'd be even more interested in reading what the final outcome is on what the agency he represents does to him.
  3.   At face value from the limited information the officer had reasonable suspicion the driver was probably under the influence. You raise a good supposition but its less likely then you realize. At this point I will wait on further information before speculating.     You come to the crux of the matter. Speculation is really pointless for now. I suspect that the T.B.I. is investigating the shooting and facts leading up to the shooting. If so once they've completed it the results will be released to the County D.A. There are things about this incident that I am wondering about.
  4. H&K 4 .380 ACP, it was a first class piece of garbage, even worse then the Sigma I bought and immediatly traded for a G-22 years later. Worst rifle was a Ruger #1 in 45/70, it had the worst wandering zero of any rifle I've ever fired. Worst shotgun was a Mossberg 500, it had all kinds of problems.
  5. I wasn't all that impressed with it as its overloaded with advertisments and the articles are aimed more towards people who've spent a lot of time reading Cody Lundin.
  6. I'm wondering if the media confused possession of stolen property with reciving stolen property? Or whether reciving/possesing stolen property are under the same criminal codes statute for PA?
  7. Most of you don't have any ideal of how much individual police departments can differ from others or the effect that the number of sworn officers can have upon the quality and caliber of the personnel. I don't know jack about the Lenoir PD but its a small agency in a bedroom community for the greater Knoxville Demographic area. http://lenoircitypolice.com/home I'm sure we'll be seeing more on this incident.
  8.   You appear to be fixated on officers being out of control here for some reason and throw out random opinions with no proof. It seems many here have simply taken it from granted the officer jumped into the truck bed to stop the driver. I don't know what he did, I'm not happy with what I've read and I'm completely disgusted reading all the anti-police-I hate cops-cops are criminals some of you are spewing out. If you want to act and sound like fools with nothing to prove as to the how and why then carry on.
  9. There are quite a few people who make certain to purchase the entire shipments of .22 LR/.22 WRM whenever they find out a store got a new shipment in. Then they turn around and post it for sale online and price gouge the hell out of it. Inventory would probably be a little better if the panic buying and price gouging crap weren't so bad.
  10.   ^^^^^^^^^^^This!!! If you don't have a lot of rifle experience then sign up for an Appleseed class. After that sign up for a tactical rifle course. This type of training is surprisingly affordable and worth the time and money. As to AR equipment. You can do just fine with a spare parts kit and 10 good magazines. Optic sights are nice but you really need to know how to run the iron sights the rifle was designed for.
  11.   Go to Setting's and click it, then to display and click it from there just follow the directions. Honestly if I can do it then its got to be pretty simple to do.
  12. LOL...I'm trying to remember where I've seen either that picture or one just about like it before.
  13.   Precisely. Like another commented as well its a lot like a new smart phone, the more you use it the easier it is to use. As to Mac Books. Well they're an over priced but very good set up that's also a PITA to learn to use after running a Windows based system. Overall I just go with the most universally common and cost effective solution and drive on.
  14. You shouldn't have any difficulty selling it to somoeone, even with the history of water damage, as buyers are always looking for a deal. But another option is to download one of the I-Phone surveillance camera apps... https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/surveillance-camera/id331398513?mt=8 . Since your phone is probably already paid for you can use it for discrete wireless remote monitoring of work or home. I know people who have purchased outdated I-Phones just to do this as a less expensive home security system they've tied into their WIFI.
  15. Unmarked white Ford Explorers are pretty common in law enforcment agency fleets and a lot of officers buy them because the agency uses them. The short hair is another give away. But you also did some officer safety things for his benefit another officer would have done. As to why the warning...lots of reasons, end of shift, you being courteous, he had another call to take...who knows.
  16. Best results would be dumping the wrapped package in the nearest bar or taverns dumpster after closing time. I gaurentee it will make the evening news.
  17. I carried a G-27 as an OD/BUG from the first release of the pistol and owned a G-26 for years. Overall I liked the G26 better as it was easier to shoot with speed and accuracy. Insofar as concealibility and carry comfort the only edge the 26/27 had over the 19/23 was ankle holster carry. I've handled and shot Shields and own an SA XDs9 3.3, either of these are thinner then the G-26 and have less bulk when holstered either IWB/OWB. I've looked at enough G-43's to like them as well. If I had to decide between the G-26 and a Shield I'd choose the Shield.
  18.   ROTGALMAO!!!
  19.   You are free to believe whatever you want to believe and voice it howsoever you want...for the most part. And for the most part I pretty much enjoy reading your posts. After reading this bile I've changed my mind...I think what you said was and is reprehensible.
  20. My preference would be the Springfield but realistically I'd purchase the one with the best fit and finish with consideration given to total price. IOW if you go for the lowest price make sure it's close enough overall to the more expensive one to not bother you and buy it. Apples and oringes man.
  21. Hmm. And who was it that was telling certain racial types to go and shoot certain racial types because certain racial types matter? All of that nonsense got laughed aside, even when it was happening. Is this a case of the same or just another nut job who fell off the rails? What's really interesting is with all of the "I'll snitch you out...because gun's" on FB and intel tracking software FB postings like that get overlooked until after the fact.
  22. Where would the internet be without Photoshop??? LOL... great image BTW
  23.   Actually the holster's still pretty feasible and turned out really well. You can carry a mag in it and stuff another into a pocket or a separate on belt mag pouch. Or you can use the empty mag pouch to carry a knife or small multi-tool.
  24.   Nope...the magic phrase is Aleck Ak Bubba...
  25. The other comments are pretty much spot on, you've basically run a lanyard to your spare mag for security and accessability. It'll work just fine at the range for plinking and informal stuff. But in a high stress situartion it's not going to work out so good, but you could probably lengthen the lanyard a bit if you want to pursue the retention ideal further.
