  1. The picture looks good and the blued finish looks nice I just hope it's a better pistol then the Helwan copy of the Beretta Brigadier. Here's an article link... http://www.guns.com/2013/02/05/helwan-920/
  2. Well I can't comment on the cognitive reasoning ability of he person who managed to get himself run over but will agree with 50%'s allegation of a failed Darwin Award Candidate. But FWIW it was a real guy and there were pictures of people picking him up in their arms to carry him to safety. That said a lot about their understanding of basic first aid so all in all it was a bunch of people who wouldn't be making it in a non social welfare society. I don't believe any of those protestors have a clue what would happen to them in a true social collapse but I doubt most would fair well at all.
  3. Yep, that's what I is, I passed up an opportunity to purchase a factory original nickeled version of he same time frame in 1992 that I sill regret not buying. But on the plus side I've got two 4" blued M&P's circa 1920's and 1930's so it ain't all bad. Nice looking M&P BTW.
  4. How curious you used to see KT P-32 pistols a lot in gun stores I wonders what's up. FWIW it's the best product KT has produced IMHO.
  5. I watched this yesterday and have read numerous comments in reference to it elsewhere. I agree the BLM protesters who shot at the car should have been prosecuted I also believe the protester who was standing in the road should be charged. This video should have had a lot more media play and reporting then it's had. Good comments and assessments.
  6. Pistols of the 1960's and 1970's went through a transformational reliability revision in order to consistently work with available hollow point service ammunition. The same thing happened with the ammunition itself in order to make it function better in service pistols. All along the myth of the revolver being the better gun flourished. That changed with the Beretta 92, 3rd gen S&W's and Glock. The wheel gun could and frequently did lock up to the point it couldn't be put back into service in the field. You would have loved going through basic police school and firearms training with a revolver and seeing the examples of what could go wrong. Pocket and ankle carry subject a revolver to a lot more dust and grit then you'd realize unless you do so for several years and pay attention to the revolver (or pistols) condition.
  7. I've carried a lot of different BUG's over the years but only two were in the same caliber as my primary service handgun. The concept of ammunition compatibility between the primary and BUG is more of a nice concept then actual practicality from my viewpoint. As to the Charco Pitbull in 9mmP. I believe I'd rather go with a Ruger LCR in 9mmP instead for peace of mind. Ankle carry is best on he inside of your weak side ankle for accessibility from kneeling, sitting and prone positions. It also conceals better and doesn't hang up on things as you step over or around them as much as on the outside of your ankle. IMHO you'd be better served by going with a weak side pocket carry using a Ruger LCP or KelTec P3AT both of which are in .380 ACP.
  8. Great video but as good as that rifle looks it's not a particular build I care for.
  9. OK further research indicates the pocket shot depending on the pouch color is a 300 to 350 FPS slingshot adaptation. It actually shots faster then the near 200 FPS of many other slingshots. So where legal it might be worth giving a try.
  10. Interesting approach to the everyday slingshot. I wonder what the average FPS is when compared to a wrist braced surgical tubing sling shot? But on the plus side I don't think having a slingshot band break and pop you in the face or eye is a problem with this device. I see one of these in my future, discreetly fits in your pocket so aggressive dogs encountered while walking can receive a less then lethal surprise.
  11. Find her a 3"Barrel S&W M-36 SQ Butt and stoke it with standard velocity hollow point ammunition. You can find a slightly larger set of grips for it which will make it feel better when shooting. If the hammer's a concern then have it bobbed. It's an easy gun to do an action job on comfortable to shoot. Most likely you'll have to shop around and find a used one but they are out there if you look. A Ruger SP 101 is another good choice but it's heavier and a bit more bulky.
  12. Your more then welcome to your opinion but what was exhibited in the video was a public disturbance and not a riot. I've been smack in the middle of a couple of riots before, fought my way into get to other officers and fought my way out. That wasn't a situation that called for riot police but I certainly hope a plan was in place for such a need. I don't know how long that mess lasted and I don't know why the supervising officer on scene let it play out that way.
  13. All of the suggestion's of taking him to the range are great but at his age I'd be more inclined to recommend a Ruger Single Six convertible .22LR/.22WMRor a Ruger .22/45 .22LR. Either of those will get a lot of use and he'll enjoy them a lot.
  14. https://www.lawserver.com/law/state/tennessee/tn-code/tennessee_code_39-17-307 https://www.lawserver.com/law/state/tennessee/tn-code/tennessee_code_39-17-305 I won't even try to figure out whether the parties involved had any type of permit or whether the police took the approach of what was happening was better then what would happen when people were arrested. As to fire hoses and bean bag rounds. Please folks, it's not 1968 anymore and that wasn't a riot.
  15. That's something that would show up in your personnel file and can be reported to another prospective employer. It's a question of character and level of commitment thing that means a lot to some people.
  16. LMAO...I've seen a lot of media pictures of the Pokémon Go players around my little corner of the world. Most of them look like they could benefit from a lot of walking and physical activity. It's a silly game that will probably help get some foolish people in trouble for trespassing or get them hurt.
  17. Is a knee strike to the face like that an authorized strike an accordance to rules? FWIW it doesn't look like the guy in the hospital bed's ever going to be able to fight again.
  18. Those are a good start but a good communications system that can't be motored by everyone in scanner land is another along with good portable and car radios. A lot of agencies don't have the money to do this. The next would be more time and money invested in force on force and de-escalation training. Conflict resolution when things are tense isn't something that comes naturally. There's been some really good training with respect to Active Shooter's but there needs to be some tactical changes made in it. The only other practical tools I'd put in patrol officers hands would be more ballistic shields. A lot of soft armor types are available that would be great.
  19. I find it disturbing that bring up the fact that police officers were killed today generated essentially hateful comments that its the police communities fault. Then all the government overreach crap comes out again. Some of you are so filled with twisted hatred for police that you disappoint me as members of this community. Most of you promoting this hate base your knowledge on media garbage and having had a negative contact with a police officer. I did a full police career and encountered a lot of cop haters. Some of them just hated cops, some of them were stark raving mad...and hated cops. Some of you guys need to find something or someone else to hate on.
  20. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/07/17/baton-rouge-police-respond-to-report-officers-down.html By reports 2 LEO's killed up to 11 shot. Ongoing and developing story so things are kind of open ended right now. Really terrible.
  21. Is it still a G-23 if you put a 9mm P barrel in it? I've heard tell you can be a sneaky little son of a gun if the notion takes you that away...
  22. Umm...some things just defy comment....
  23. Clear, concise and succinct, excellent review, well done and congrats on the new Ruger.
  24. I could expound on this at length but just won't bother, I'll simply say police officers are assigned to larger crime areas in greater numbers.
  25. Good video, insightful and objective, I look forward to seeing the interviews of assorted people. I have some mixed feelings about the use of a robot to place a bomb but can also recognize the tactical reasoning behind it. Overall when people let emotions control their reasoning ability they become blind followers rather then thinkers. Unfortunately thinkers aren't as appreciated or respected as agitators or self motivated attention seekers in search of notoriety. Keep doing what your doing, I bet your dad has some cool stories.
