Does anyone know it they have enough money to buy out his contract?
-
Too bad we don't have an honest media in this country that would ask what he meant by this. But I guess if one did they would be banned from the his bus. It is really hard to believe what is happening or is about to happen.

I heard an Obama supporter say she wouldn't have to worry about putting gas in her car or paying the mortgage after Obama was elected.

greenego replied to BrasilNuts's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Complain about someone who has more money and is successful no. Trying to match their success YES. This was the country where you could do that. Under Obama ??? -

Rich is always going to be someone that has more money than you do. This is how class envy works. The average income in TN is a lot lower than in NY., but the cost of living is also less in TN. It is totally ignorant to say someone making $100,000.00 in NY is better off than someone in TN making $50,000.00. However you all know them Yankees are rich! -

This is very sad. There are too many people like this. I worked, several years ago, with a couple of folks that had just got out of high school. They believe that the Vietnam War started because Pearl Harbor was bombed. What do they teach in schools? -
I came to Tennessee when Bill Battle was being asked to leave. It wasn't very nice. I hope Phil is treated better but if he loses one more game, he is history. Will Johnny come marching home again?

Congress mulls major 401(k) changes By Sara Hansard October 7, 2008, 5:18 PM EST A wide range of sweeping changes to the 401(k) system were proposed Tuesday at a hearing on how the market crisis has devastated retirement savings plans. Chief among them was eliminating $80 billion in tax savings for higher-income people enrolled in 401(k) retirement savings plans. This was suggested by the chairman of the House Committee on Education and Labor. “With respect to the 401(k), it appears to be a plan that is not really well-devised for the changes in the market,†Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., said. “We’ve invested $80 billion into subsidizing this activity,†he said, referring to tax breaks allowed for 401(k) contributions and savings. With savings rates going down, “what do we have to start to think about in Congress of whether or not we want to continue and invest that $80 billion for a policy that is not generating what we … say it should?†Mr. Miller said. Congress should let workers trade their 401(k) assets for guaranteed retirement accounts made up of government bonds, suggested Teresa Ghilarducci, an economics professor at The New School for Social Research in New York. When workers collected Social Security, the guaranteed retirement account would pay an inflation-adjusted annuity under her plan. “The way the government now encourages 401(k) plans is to spend $80 billion in tax breaks,†which goes to the highest-income earners, Ms. Ghilarducci said. That simply results in transferring money from taxed savings accounts to untaxed accounts, she said. “If we implement automatic [individual retirement accounts] or if we expand the 401(k) system, all we’re doing is adding to this inefficiency,†Ms. Ghilarducci said. Rep. Robert Andrews, D-N.J., raised the issue of which investment advisers are allowed to offer workers investment advice. The Department of Labor is considering “loopholes†that would allow advisers to offer “conflicted investment advice if the advisers work for subsidiaries of financial services companies that sell the investments,†he said. With American workers facing $2 trillion in losses from retirement plans over the past year and Democrats expected to gain seats in the House and the Senate, actions being contemplated by the committee are an important harbinger of what could come out of Congress next year. http://www.investmentnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081007/REG/810079894 -

Almost Everyone Would Do Better Under the McCain Health Plan
greenego replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Health insurance in this country is so distorted. No company is going to insurance folks and lose money. I also have a high deductible policy. We expect to pay $2000 a year and get $3000 in benefits. It doesn't work that way. Think about car insurance. You pay it and may never file a claim. The cost of health care is way out of control. I don't think Obama or McCain will change this. -
Almost Everyone Would Do Better Under the McCain Health Plan
greenego replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
McCain's plan is much better, but it won't work. The reason, he is expecting people to buy health insurance and then give then the credit. Having tried to sale health insurance many, many years ago, I heard more then once, "I know I need it but I will not make the premium payments". With the employers providing the insurance, the person never has to write a check so the premium gets paid. This is also the way our tax system works, for those who get a W2. How many people would be able to pay their taxes without withholding? -
They should let her be herself. Win or lose she will have a future only if voters believe she is not pretending. Pretending is one thing that got Kerry beat. Remember "I want me a huntin licence".

I really don't care what Michelle had for lunch, as long as we are not paying for it. The point is they, like all of the elite believe in "do as I say not as I do". They believe "someone" is going to have to give up something (they wiill take it) so they can give it to someone else. Who is the someone and who are the benefactors? Spreed the wealth brother! We are in deep dodo.

Too bad we don't have more reporters like this. I understand that the obama campaign will not do any more interviews on this TV station.

This is on Neal Boortz's web site. You can print it out and leave it instead of a tip. Dear "Server "We truly have enjoyed having dinner at this fine restaurant, and your service has been exemplary. However, we have been inspired by the words of Senator Barack Obama and have decided to "spread the wealth around." We have paid what we owe here, but we'll be giving your tip, which you probably don't really need anyway, to one of the less fortunate at some freeway exit ramp on our way home this evening. Best regards. Your grateful customers.
