This explains why my wife keeps calling me a big baby. Count me in for where ever it is decided we go. -
General Motors was founded in 1908 in Flint , Michigan and grew to be the largest corporation in the world. Its market capitalization reached $50 billion in 2000. In the past week its market capitalization dropped below $1 billion to levels last seen during the 1920's. The story of General Motors is the story of America . In 1953, at the peak of its dominance, its President Charles Wilson declared before Congress that what was good for the country was good for GM and vice versa. Its rise to power and decline towards insolvency parallel the rise and fall of the Great American Republic. For the rest of the story go to the web site. It takes the state about 6 years to catch people. This was as of 2002. They, TN DEPT. of Revenue, gets copies of all our federal tax returns and if this income is on them, look and see if a state return was filed. And no there is not a three year limit on paying tax. Big brother is everywhere.

Tennessee tracking mailorder/online ammunition purchases?
greenego replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The only ones that I know of that has been caught in the past are people that purchased furniture out of state. Large purchase. The state will check the bill of lading of trucks coming in the state. They then send a tax bill to the people who purchased the furniture. They are not going to come after someone for a small purchase. Couple of hundred dollars for ammo. Would not be cost affective. -
From what I am reading here I bet most of you didn't know Tennessee has an INCOME TAX. It's not on wages just certain investment income. Called the Hall tax And yes it is one of the biggest secrets in Tennessee. No it's not new. I believe it was enacted in the 20s or 30s.

Poll still 94% yes 6% no. I hope this is the response they wanted.

Tennessee tracking mailorder/online ammunition purchases?
greenego replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Wrong It applies to all merchandise order. Mail or online. Its just hard for the state to find out. But they are trying. -
I can understand where you are coming from. I was looking at this from the point of view that if the government can go around the law and dictate who gets paid and who doesn't in these bankruptcies investors will stop investing where there may be problems. I am sure the folks in these retirement account believe their money was reasonably safe.

I have carried a SP101 with 38 hollow points for about a year, front pocket. As far as being heavy, I suppose it is a little. But like anything else you get use to it.

Same here.

Is the shoot going to be at the Norris range?
-
I got my SR9 in March 09. First semi-auto. I started carrying it in a crossbreed holster. After a few adjustments, I hardly knew it was there. As far as firing, I have put 200 rounds or so through it with no problems.

Just voted. Its 50 50. -
I just got, an hour ago, a Viridian SR Green Dot Laser for my Ruger SR9. Will be going to Norris tomorrow to try it out. I can tell you at 7:00 pm sitting on my deck I can see it about 75' away. Very Cool. I will also add make sure it fits your holster. I have an IWB holster that the gun will not fit with laser attached.

Credit Card Bill Forces Dems to Take Vote on Gun Rights
greenego replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I just got this email from Advanta. Always paid in full. Never late. I am sure from what I have read about this bill that many of us will have our cards canceled and or grace periods done away with. Credit is only going to get tighter. For Your Security: Account ending in --------------------------------------------------- Dear Customer, Your Advanta Business Card account is funded by an independent trust which owns the balances you owe on your account and provides funding for new transactions. We expect the trust to stop funding activity on our accounts. The trust also restricts our flexibility to fund activity on your account. Unfortunately, as a result, effective May 30th all Advanta Business Credit Card accounts, including your account, will be closed. This means that you will not be able to use your card or account for new transactions, including purchases, checks and balance transfers beginning on May 30th. We understand that you may have written checks on your account before May 30th and we will make every effort to honor those checks that are presented to us for payment by June 3rd. If you use your Advanta card to make automatic recurring bill payments, you will need to make alternative arrangements for those payments promptly. It is important to understand that you are not required to pay your entire balance at this time. You may continue to pay down your account balance over time, as allowed under your Advanta Business Card Agreement. You will not lose the rewards that you have earned. If you participate in a Cash Back program, you will receive a check for the amount of any accrued rewards more than $1.00 as long as you make the required minimum payments and your account remains in good standing. If you participate in a Business Rewards program, you will have at least 60 days to redeem your points as long as you make the required minimum payments and your account remains in good standing. We deeply regret the impact this action will have on your business and very much wish it was not necessary. We are committed to assist you through this process. Additional information will be available at www.advanta.com/notice. If you have any other questions or concerns, or if we can assist you in any other way, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Center. You can email us your questions 24 hours a day at www.advanta.com/secure or call us toll free at (800) 705-7255, Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time.
