  3. Body of slain census worker naked Knoxville News Sentinel BIG CREEK, Ky. - A part-time census worker found hanging in a rural Kentucky cemetery was naked, gagged and had his hands and feet bound with duct tape, said an Ohio man who discovered the body two weeks ago. Jerry Weaver of Fairfield, Ohio, told The Associated Press on Friday that he was among a group of relatives who discovered the body of 51-year-old Bill Sparkman on Sept. 12. "The only thing he had on was a pair of socks," Weaver said. "And they had duct-taped his hands, his wrists. He had duct tape over his eyes, and they gagged him with a red rag or something. "And they even had duct tape around his neck. And they had like his identification tag on his neck. They had it duct-taped to the side of his neck, on the right side, almost on his right shoulder." Weaver said he couldn't tell if the tag was a Census Bureau I.D. He said he didn't get close enough to read it. State police Capt. Lisa Rudzinski would not confirm Weaver's description of the crime scene. Two people briefed on the investigation said various details of Weaver's account matched the details of the crime scene. The two spoke on condition of anonymity. Authorities have released very few details on the death. Coroner Jim Trosper has said the word "fed" was written on Sparkman's chest with what was likely a felt-tip pen. State police had announced the cause of death was asphyxiation, then clarified Friday that was a preliminary determination pending a full medical examination of the body. Rudzinsky said investigators hadn't yet determined whether the death was a homicide, suicide or accidental. Story ©2009, The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.

  9. I went to Norris and shot the Kahr PM9 I recently purchased. The outcome was, the gun was flawless with the six round mag, but had problems with the seven. With the seven round mag the gun did not chamber properly. The slide also didn't not lock open after the last round. If the mag is not the problem, it must be they way I am gripping the gun with the extended mag. I must be putting a little downward pressure on it with my little finger, causing the mag. not to be seated. Anyone else have this problem?
  10. Some very good points. I don't agree all of them, but ANY waste of money the government takes from us is, well I am sure you get the point. Now for cash for clunkers, to those Americans working or non-workings who purchased a car because of this program, congrats. I hope you enjoy your new ride. And for those who could not pay for their new ride in full, I hope you can make the payments for the time you had to finance it for. As for the rest of us who cannot afford a new car, what does this program mean. Well for one thing there are 700,000 fewer used cars out there to purchase. On that point the next time I go to buy a car, you think the price may be a little higher because the supply is less? And how about all you who are into repairing what you have. This program has to be one of the most wasteful programs I have seen in my lifetime. Taking good, running automobiles and destroying them by putting a salutation in them that locks up the engine and transmission. WHY. How much have these parts gone up? But you say look at how it helped the auto dealers and the car manufactures. Yes they got a short term boost. As far as the car dealers go, if it didn't create a cash flow problem for them, and they get their money from us, the taxpayer, most will say it was beneficial. The manufactures called a few people back to work. But the long term benefit, how many cars will be sold between now and the end of the year? From what I read, many of the "cash for clunker" buyers would have purchased a car sometime this year anyway. So net benefit 0. As for "The money was already allocated in the stimulus anyway" what you are saying is we are going to waste this money anyway, so why not this way. The stimulus, or pork plan will go down as a big waste of money that, in the end accomplished nothing but wasting our money. So in the end what did "What did cash for clunkers save the US Taxpayer? Nothing It will end up costing us! Just like every other half ass program the government comes up with.
  11. Looks like Wolf got "Blitzed".
  12. What did the Clunker program save the US Taxpayer? In the long term nothing. The question we need to ask is "What will the Clunker program end up costing the US taxpayer?"
