  1. There a match tomorrow 8:30 am at the Oak Ridge Sportsmans Club for Smoky Mountain Shootist Society.Cowboy action group. It will be my first match. I am sure if you show up, you will be more than welcome. They enter at the action pistol gate.
  2. Get ducks. My wife watched one kill a copperhead when we lived in LA. I did a serch online, before posting this, and there are several references to ducks killing snakes.
  3. Don't know where Amazon said you did owe it when you made the purchase. But here is the link to your obligation as a resident of TN. https://apps.tn.gov/usetax/ Again my problem is not paying the tax. It's getting the email in the first place and having yet something else looking over my shoulder.
  4. I have to agree with what you are saying. My biggest problem is getting the email in the first place. If Amazon believed their TN customers should pay sales tax on items they purchase from them, then Amazon should, like every business in TN, collect the sales tax. Am I intimidated by this. NO. But when someone asks me if they should pay it, what should i tell them?
  5. Maybe there is hope after all. http://www.cbsnews.c...StoriesAreaMain
  6. The thing you don't know is, did the state get a list? If so will they come after anyone? I realize that most of this is pennies on the dollar and not worth the states time. The did go after people that purchased furnture in NC a couple of years ago. Government reporting requirements are increasing each year. Know anyone that was reported to the government for paypal sells? They received Form 1099K. And yes I did send in my $22.00.
  7. Amazon don't want to be bothered with collecting the tax, but to keep the state off their back, they agree to send out emails to intimidate their customers. Just doesn't sit right.
  8. Don't how much revenue TN will receive form these emails, but I will look elsewhere when buying on line, even if the site does charge me sales tax.
  9. Biggest problem I have always had with the Fair Tax was the checks going out. ANY check from the government like this will cause fraud. Why not just eliminate the tax on food purchased in the grocery store and low cost clothing items. As far as IRS stopping the fraud, no way. We couldn't afford the agents it would take or put up with the mistakes they would make. Only way to stop this is to eliminate refundable tax credits. The ones you get without paying any tax.
  10. if this was to happen it would be GREAT.
  11. I am finding I carry my Sp101 more and more. Maybe it's the age 58. Maybe it's living in Knoxville and not feeling like I will need 20 rounds for self defence. I would like to take a class on carrying the subbie, but all I have found are out of state.
  12. Hope you paid your taxes. Looks like our government is sending $4 billion to illegals for kids in Mexico and looking the other way. http://www.wthr.com/video?clipId=7054149&topVideoCatNo=103348&autoStart=true
  13. Hope he keeps it up. Sooner or later most will ignore him.
  14. Keep in mind that the first report was by MSNBC. They would love to see a big fight at the Republican Convension. I still think the most Paul can hope for is to get some of his ideas in the platform. I agree with him a lot more than Romney , but Paul can't beat Obama. Romney has an outside chance.
  15. Sad news. They are saying he shot himself.
  16. Don't think he was the owner. I don't go to too many liquor stores, but I believe it said perps ran out by a side door. How many have a side door?
  17. Shoots across street just missing two woman in their car. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/may/01/police-charge-liquor-store-employee-who-shot-at/

  19. Mayor Burchett answered the question about carrying the same as I do. I never say yes or no.
  20. Obviously not a union shop, otherwise Obama would have bailed them out.
  21. This is Ron Paul's last run. He is making the best of it. I think at this point, he wants some of his ideas on the platform Also laying ground work for Rand.
