With good ammo the (FNP -45 4.5" Barrel ) Will group as good or better than a HK-45 at 25 yards. I Did this right out of the box 2 years ago when I got mine at Guns and Leather. 25 yards hand held over 30 rounds. I bet the new FNX 45 which has a 4" Barrel is also a good shooting pistol. look around you can find reviews where they got very good groups at 25 yards with the FNP 45. http://www.gunblast.com/fnp45.htm Jeff Quinn of Gunblast look at the groups he got using his reloads and a rest at 25 yards 3/4" http://www.modernsurvivalonline.com/Files/weapons/Articles/FN%20High%20Capacity%2045.pdf Patrick Sweeney Review on the FNP-45 25 yards at Guns and leather.

This was rapid fire at 35 feet I am a better slow fire shooter and should do more rapid fire drills .

I got a M&P 9 last month and was not happy with it as far as accuracy past 50 feet. So Guns & Leather just got in the FNS 9"s and after reading about them and all ready having a FNP 45 picked one up. 100 rounds of Federal 115 grain Zero problems but 100 rounds is not a big deal in terms of a pistol being reliable. Trigger is not as good as a PPQ but better than the M&P and about the second best polymer trigger for me beside the PPQ's. I have 3 XDM's and 2 HK's and 1 FNP. This is all JMO and take it with a grain of salt.. Took me 60 rounds to get some what use to the FNS 9 and did this group at 25 yards at Guns & Leather nothing great but was on the right track. Did another few rounds and I hit my once a year zone. I am a decent slow fire shooter and can keep most rounds in the black at 25 yards . But every now and than I get lucky everything flows right and i leave the range happy. 5 Rounds 25 yards 1" center to center Hand Held No bull #hit So far I am very happy with the FNS 9 and after a few more rounds will use it for edc along with what I use now.

Don't own a compact I have big hands and never had any use for one. Don't own a Glock never had any use for one. At the range yesterday I let a guy try my xdm 9 (4.5) than he let my try His Glock 26 that had stock sights but did have a $20 upgrade done on the trigger Connector. 10 rounds 25 yards hand held at Guns & Leather 3 3/4" not to bad for first time shooting a glock 26 with WWB ammo. I might have to get a Glock at some point;)

This guy is not a You Tube Clown he does very good reviews JMO I have a few of the pistols he reviews and agree with him. I don't own the PPQ but looking at his free hand group at 15 yards and the way he talks about the feel of it I might give it a good look at.

I have the HK P30L 9mm & HK-45 pistol-training.com » Blog Archive » HK45 Endurance Test: Week Thirty Seven HK 45 P30 "At 91,300 rounds, the P30 was running strong. Even after a chunk went missing from the frame, the gun had turned in well over five thousand rounds of accurate and reliable service. I carried it every day" pistol-training.com » Blog Archive » P30 Thursday: Week Forty-Two Bottom line they are accurate and 2 of the most reliable pistols around. I am not a Fan Boy towards any pistols but HK builds a nice gun. I have 2 XDM's and an FNP for polymers and find them to be very accurate and so far no problems but the HK's JMO are built like tanks and are worth the bigger price tag. I would buy another HK ..XDM ... or FNP and like I said no FAN BOY towards HK's but they are worth the price tag.

The XDM 9 and 45 feel like a compact to me and so does the HK-45. I have no problems carrying them. The stock trigger on my XDM's are OK and I have no problems with them...

The P30L is a tac driver at 25 yards and reading testing done on one of them it held up for 100,000 rounds and still did a great group at 25 yards. It feels great in my hands .. but my hands are big and in double action my trigger finger does not slip in the way I like it. That is the only reason I am selling it.... The XDM-9 fits my hands and finger better but the P30L is a better made pistol JMO. Plus I have the HK-45 so selling the P 30L is not the end of the world.

Ergonomics , I love the feel and the trigger lines up perfect for me but I have big hands and it may not fit your needs.. 500 rounds no malfunctions Loves my reloads and any other ammo so far. For me it's a good EDC pistol along with the XDM-9.... I also picked up. Groups at 25 yards are with good ammo very good. Anyone looking for a reliable accurate 45 for EDC ( Fits my hands perfect) or home defense pistol give one a try. Bro I would rather know what you think about 1911's than some Snob who buys semi custom pistols but never shoots them.
-
I went nuts 8 years ago and if I had to do over would have never spent the money I did on 1911's. I was still working in the CT. DOC and got on a 1911 buying spree. Now retired for 3 1/2 years have sold off many of the 1911's I had and now love HK's ... FNP's and other polymers. I respect what you have to say as much as any one who has semi custom 1911's. Comes down to who is pulling the trigger and not how many pistols you own. This is a good board with a good bunch of gun nuts

This guy has one of the biggest collection of 1911's around from $300 up to $ over $4000 ones. He did a great review a few years ago about his 08 Valor Range report: New Dan Wesson Valor vs. Springfield TRP - Glock Talk The new ones are made with better parts This guy is a VERY good shot at 25 yards and has a few high end 1911's Dan Wesson Valor and Vbob Range Reports - 2010 SS Models - 1911Forum Severns custom 2010 holiday shoot-out...the report! Older Valor in that report. http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=255555&highlight=barrel+internal+valor Severns Custom wrote this. "2011 Dan Wesson Stainless Valor. Dan Wesson's Flagship 5" stainless pistol. Unbelievable quality and performance for the price! All top quality internal and external components, including forged, hand-lapped slide and frame, top quality, tool steel ignition components, Grieder forged slide stop, Ed Brown grip safety, EGW barrel bushing, Wolff springs, Heinie Ledge sights, etc. Comes with 2 SS mags".

2 Valors 09 2010 JMO I have had many semi custom 1911's 5 Nighthawks .. 5 Wilson Combat... 2 Ed Browns .. 5 Les Baers ... 1 Smith & Wesson ... 1 Early Sig .. 1 Full custom from Bob Marvel I am into Accuracy not 21 feet or 45 feet .. I shoot at 25 yards 100% of my range time indoors. 50 or 60 yards if I go outdoors which is not that often. The 09 Valor ( not many around now for sale) was the best deal going in the 1911 market. The finish was nothing great but the slide to frame fit was as good or better than many semi customs. Accuracy at 25 yards with good ammo 1" to 1 3/4" I put 90 rounds out of 100 in the black shooting indoors at 25 yards with mine I paid $1299 for mine in 09 and just put an Ed brown Maxi -Well on it. I also put 10 rounds in the black at 60 yards with it. 100 rounds 25 yards ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new Valors are made with better parts and a real tight Barrel Bushing. Better Sights Heinie Ledge Straight Eight Night Sights 18 rounds at 30 yards The Red Circle is 3" with my reloads hand held. I put a Ed Brown Maxi -Well on it. They are just as accurate and reliable as most semi custom 1911's The SS model is a better bargin they go for $1349 to $1499 Some have them for more but there nuts and over price them. The new finish ( THE BLACK VALORS) are excellent but they go for $ 1589 up to $1900 which is JMO getting to not so great deal. 30 yards the red circle is 3" 18 Rounds

Both"stove pipe with them but if I go up in powder grains they work around 97% of the time. But that is only with 20 rounds so far ..I am going to try it again my next range session. I went up to 4.7 grains and can go up to 4.9 but will try 4.8 first. My 1911 works great with 4.3. I have used factory ammo but just started trying my reloads.

Which one do you prefer and why? The FNP is just as accurate at 25 yards and holds more rounds and is less money. But the HK is like a semi Custom 1911 in how it feels in my hands and JMO worth the extra money you pay for it. I truly like them both but give a slight edge to the HK in that it feels a little better in my hands but accuracy the FNP is just as good at 25 yards.
